These are probably the worst apartments in the area. If you want a nice apartment with good maintenance and friendly management - Vincent is definitely not the place to go.

I've been a tenant here for over 12 years, starting from the time when this complex was owned by SU for their graduate students (much like South Campus). After Longley Jones took over, there was a steady decline in the upkeep.. along with an ever-changing management team.

First off, someone has a master key to the apartment buildings - and Longley Jones is refusing to admit it and re-key. There were 6 robberies (including mine) in the past four months, with no signs of forced entry. I've learned my lesson and now have both the bottom AND the top knobs/deadbolts keyed with my own keys (look at the police reports from this area - they are in public record and are available from SPD).

Their new apartments look great.. until you start looking underneath the "veneer" of cleanliness that they give off (if you're lucky enough to get into a good building). Oil stains have been painted over, there is mold under the tiles in the bathroom (the tiles are coming out of the wall). Most (if not all) of the apartment complexes are infested with roaches and other crawly things (silverfish). Thankfully, I have kept my apartment in pristine condition over the last decade.. and I bomb it against cockroaches/spiders and trap it regularly (by myself).

Slowly but surely, the apartment complex is turning from housing graduate students and quiet neighbors to Section 8 housing. You will have neighbors on all four sides either fighting, screaming, playing rap music, or smoking marijuana.

The management leaves a lot to be desired: Mary Bedford seems nice at first, but can throw a tantrum worse than a child, kicking and screaming that EVERYTHING is your fault. Stubborn and mean-spirited - she will not treat you nicely unless you are Section 8. Jim Gans is a little bit better (he used to be amazing!).. but now that he's the assistant manager - don't expect too much out of him: he always looks to Mary before speaking.

After 12 years of putting up with this, I am finally moving out. It's a shame that these apartments are going downhill so fast (and their conditions cannot be called livable, for some of the buildings). Moving out of here will seem like moving out of a war-torn country.

This Apartment complex has horrible water problems. The water in the shower changes from hot to cold without moving the dials. The toilet clogs several times a month because of the terrible suction in the toilets and it gets to the point that even a tiny bit of toilet paper will clog it. The maintenance staff try their best to keep up but the water is so shitty that they keep coming back only to TEMPORARILY fix the problem

The manager, Jim Gains, is an incompetent drunk who cant do anything without blaming others for his mistake. He blames "the other people working in the office" when he is the only one ever there. He doesnt always stay until the office hour is supposed to close either.

Fire Jim Gains and get the water problems fixed and this dump will become alot better.
