So I bought a used car from Farrish of Fairfax. The salesman explained that their used cars come with a warranty of 3 months. The car buying experience was great, the people were friendly, and I enjoyed myself about as much as you can enjoy buying a car.

Then I needed to bring the car in for a warranty situation. The first bad sign was that the service guy, Alan Pinter, didn't shake my hand when I offered it. Now I know I'm a young man at 29, and I look young for my age too, so I understand there might be times when someone wouldn't shake my hand as if to say "we're not equals"...but this shouldn't have been one of those times.

Needless to say, they took a while to look at the car but found nothing wrong. A few weeks later, the check engine light comes on. After "not finding anything", and after not shaking my hand, I did some internet research and did the repair myself. It wasn't exactly an easy job, it took about 10 hours to do for an amateur like me that knows something about cars but had never done much more than an oil change themselves.

But that is how little faith I had in their people, and more importantly how little i wanted to go back to their service department.

Final thoughts: Farrish is a great place to buy a car, but not if it needs warranty work.
