The Smithsonian Museum Is a collection of museums in seperate buildings. The Natural History and Air and Space are probably the most popular. The Hall of Mammals with the giant stuffed elephant is a sight as is the mineral collection. A really fun museum is the American History museum. They have a collection of stage sets and items from film and television. The Smithsonian Institution is one of the few free museums and is easily accessed by Metro.

My all-time favorite museum is the National Museum of Natural History. This is the largest museum that my family ever visited. Its like several museums stuffed together in one huge museum. There are so many things to see at this museum that is a treasure chest of the natural sciences and human culture. Of course when I first entered the museum, I beelined it to the museum's gem and mineral collection on the second floor to see the beautiful Hope Diamond! I also really enjoyed the mammal hale that displays all types of mammals. I really loved this museum and I want to go back because I didn't really get to see all the exhibits thoroughly since we didn't have enough time. This is definitely a MUST-SEE museum...and there is no admission charge!
