After arriving at our cabin we realized that we were short a few towels and washcloths. Inconvienent but not a huge deal, we would have to wash some sooner. When everyone got ready for bed, we went to find sheets to go on the two sofa beds for our four children to sleep. There was one flat sheet, one fitted sheet total for both beds and no pillow cases. We called customer service immediately, only to be told that housekeeping was gone and there was nothing that they could do except put in a ticket for the next day. That did not help give me a place to sleep my children. When we decided to pull the top sheet from the two king beds so that the kids would have something to sleep on, we found that one of the king beds did not even have a flat sheet. So the girls ended up with the one set of sheets, two nasty pillows with no cases and the boys had a flat sheet to cover the matress and two nasty pillows with no cases. I called back early on Sat. morning to include the needed king sheets on the housekeeping ticket. When we arrived back at the cabin later that day we had received nothing. I immediately called and I was told that housekeeping was short staffed and they have over 1,000 cabins. Once again this does not help my kids have a decent place to sleep. Once the customer service person investigated further he told me that the wrong kind of ticket was placed and that it did not even go to housekeeping. He said that he would hang up and call housekeeping. After an hour I called back to see if someone was bringing sheets and he told me that no one answered the phone and they must be gone for the day. Needless to say we did not receive any sheets. We rented a cabin that supposedly slept eight people but only had complete bedding for two. When I finally got in touch with the customer service supervisor she told me that she could offer me a voucher for one night and a 15% discount on additional nights. I told her that was not acceptable and I needed to talk to her boss. She told me that her boss would just tell me that same thing. I did talk to her boss who was told me the same thing. I then attempted to call the general manager for one week. I let him a voicemail message everyday for six days and he has yet to return my call. I decided to try the supervisor back who would not answer any of my questions but would only say, "I do apologize" and then hung up on me.These people do not know anything about customer service. They are only out to make money.

we recently rented Amazing Grace by Sugar Maple cabins. While the scenery was beautiful and the pictures on the website match the actual house, we found the cabin dirty and dusty. the sheets looked like they had been changed, but they were very dingy looking. there is not adequate parking for a cabin that sleeps 14 (only 2 spots). but the worst part was the fact that a family of mice was living in one of the couches. we removed the cushions to make a bed for a 2 year old and found an entire family of mice. we had already found mouse poop on the kitchen counter, but hoped for the best. after finding more mouse poop on one of the beds (where we had been sleeping), we decided to check out early and not stay our last night. After several calls with the management, sugar maple refused to do anything about it. i would NEVER use them or recommend them to anyone. there are hundres of chalets/cabins in the area, so i would suggest you pick someone else.

Our church reserved Morning View Manor, rented under Sugar Maples Cabins, for a weekend women's retreat. We paid thousands of dollars and experienced many problems - one being NO WATER! Many frustrations with management and no answers. Upon arrival, the trash bins were full and overflowing, we had to clean the cabin before our ladies arrived - dusting, sweeping, bathrooms, etc. We also had to pay extra cleaning fees upon arrival that we were not aware of. When we had viewed the cabin we noted that several cabinet doors were barely on the hinges and they said maintenance would have that fixed - they did not. During our stay, several of our ladies came very close to danger - A whole cabinet shelf fell out one morning, literally ejecting glass dishes across the kitchen, almost hitting several ladies. This could have been disastrous - not to mention it was a huge mess to clean up and we lost many dishes of our own. There were no trash bags, the ice maker did not work (not good when you have 30+ people). They assured us they would send someone out - no one came. Sunday morning we woke to no water and were told it would be at least 3 hours or more before someone could even check it out. After much conversing with the maintenance guy who called, he gave us a code to a nearby cabin (that had not been cleaned) and our ladies had to walk to that cabin just to shower. These are just some things to name a few.
We tried multiple times getting answers from management and asking at the very least our cleaning fees be returned - there was never any satisfaction and nothing was done for compensation.
Something definitely needs to be done! I just wonder how many more stories are out there regarding this resort!

Would never recommend Sugar Maple Cabins. Booked the Big House two months in advance for extended family. Called the day of arrival to see if roads were okay & was told that weather was moving in,but if we did not show we would be charged $500. After six hours of driving and only an hour away, received call stating housekeeping could not get to cabin. We were forced to find hotel rooms for 10 people. The next day was told again that housekeeping could not get to cabin, but would refund $60 cleaning fee if we would clean. We looked at cabin to see how dirty it was. The roads were fine...no snow at all. Asked to speak to manager and he would not come out of his office. They did not even have clean sheets and towels for us. Could not find other house without notice most likely because many of Sugar Maple Cabin renters were grabbing them up. We saw four families walk out while we were in the office. The Big House is beautiful, but it had not been thoroughly cleaned. It has hardwood floors throughout and there was a lot of dust under the tables, nightstands, etc. We would not use the hot tub because it did not appear to be clean. They did not have clean towels or sheets. We had to do 8 loads of laundry. Obviously, they do not have adequate cleaning staff and used the weather as an excuse. I feel bad for the employees of Sugar Maple Cabins and for the owners of The Big House. I would never recommend Sugar Maple Cabins to anyone. What horrific customer service they provide and they lie about the reasons for their incompetency.

I organized a vacation late June to early July for 11 kids and 10 adult family mambers through Sugar Maple Cabins. The reservation was done 5 months in advance. I thought I had found the perfect cabin for all of us. It was on top of a mountain and had out of this world views. Upon check in we discovered that the pool (resort access) that was advertised with the cabin was no longer available to tennants of our cabin due to "the owner of the cabin not paying his resort dues". Found out later that the cabin is in forclosure! Which explained the many items in the cabin in poor condition. I was able to sit down with the manager (Jeff). I explained that the pool was a huge factor in our selection of this cabin due to the number of kids in our group. I asked to be let out of the cabin reservation due to breach of contract. He said he couldn't. I asked for something - anything in the way of compensation for the unexpected loss. He said there was nothing he could do. I asked how long they knew about this. He said over 2 weeks. When I asked why we didn't receive a phone call informing us of it. He stated that our cabin was not the only one involved in this, and they had initially called future arrivals to inform them of the pool situation. But people got really mad, so they stopped calling them. I have recently retired from the military. I know incompetent management when I see it - and I had it sitting right in front of me. I also have learned in my experience that it is useless to talk to these types of people. The cabin was full of disappointments. Too many to list. I only give 2 stars because the view from the cabin was absolutely phenomenal. Which thank goodness was not under control of Sugar Maple Cabins management. DO NOT USE THIS MANAGEMENT COMPANY FOR YOUR GET AWAY PLANS. vhmltn64@yahoo.com

We stayed at "Smoky Mountain Bliss" cabin, managed by Sugar Maple Cabins, for two weeks in April. The wraparound views were just like the photos, but better. We would have loved to use the hot tub, but didn't get a chance to use it. We loved eating at the outside dinette or on the picnic table, under the porch ceiling fan. We liked that we were in a resort, but at the end of the street next to the woods for more privacy from our neighbors. We probably had the best view in the resort too. The porch swing was one of the most relaxing places in the cabin, gently swaying while looking out at the mountains. There were enough rocking chairs for everyone too.

The "spaceship" shower/jacuzzi downstairs was amazing. We loved having the radio in the shower, the steam feature, the LED lights, and the jetted sprays--it was truly showering in luxury! We also appreciated the instructions posted in the bathroom and in the welcome book to help us figure out the futuristic controls.

The secure high speed wireless Internet connection was fast, steady and reliable, and we logged to it without problems--probably because it was cable-based instead of satellite like other parts of the mountains. We were grateful the WiFi was password protected so nobody could snoop into our surfing.

The in-cabin library was a nice touch. It was stocked with enough dvds, vhs tapes, books and games for everyone in our family to last us a few weeks!
The local zip lines (Wahoo Ziplines) were tons of fun! Our five year old was scared at first, but the guide went with her, so she was more confident. By the end of the zip tour, she raced me on her own zip line! I have been on other zip lines before that were more strenuous, but the zip lines at Smoky Mountain Bliss cabin were delightfully easy to use--good for all family members. I especially enjoyed seeing the mountain tops and countryside from the zip lines.

The night was so peaceful, looking out at the twinkling lights on the mountainsides. We could peek into Pigeon Forge valley lights, but not enough to wash out our view of the stars. It was quiet and serene. We especially enjoyed watching the fireworks at the new Titanic grand opening from our balcony. 4th of July must be amazing from the deck!

You could also tell the owners had paid a lot of attention to detail in taking care of this cabin: all the designer bedding was brand new, including the pillows, quilts, mattress and mattress covers. The were bear-themed coasters everywhere for our drinks. The outlets even had cute little bear themes on them. There was beautiful photography and artwork on the walls. It felt very homey, yet upscale. It was also evident they had just cleaned the place--no spiders, ladybugs, etc.

The kitchen with new appliances was stocked too: The T-Fal stainless steel cookware was all new; there were wine glasses; bottle openers; whisks, knife sharpeners--all the "little things" you take for granted in your home kitchen. There was even a selection of cookbooks to give us some meal ideas! Some had quick and easy recipes (Rachel Ray) so we could enjoy more time on vacation instead of in the kitchen, others focused on local recipes and international cuisines. Pizza, chinese, and italian delivery was available (and there were menus in the cabin), but we were so close to town that we just drove ourselves.

CONS:
The Sugar Maple Cabins check-in was a little far from our cabin (20 minutes), but at least we didn't have to go back for check-out and it was a quick and easy drive to Knoxville airport using back roads (tip: Avoid I-40 and take Chapman Highway to Gov. Sevier Hwy to Alcoa Hwy). Plus, the cabin was just 5-10 minutes to the Parkway, so it was close to all the action.

The kiddie pool and waterfall looked like fun but it and the outdoor pool were only open during the summer months so we couldn't use them while we were there, even though it was a very hot weekend. Still, we cooled off with the porch ceiling fans or stayed inside playing the arcade machine, billiards table, or watching movies.

There were no bar stools at the kitchen counter. We understood that they had just been ordered and would be arriving after our stay. There was enough room for us at the dining table, but it would have been nice to use the breakfast bar while we were there.

In all, it was a fabulous stay at a fabulous cabin. Tons to do, lots of relaxing, and a truly blissful experience. We plan to return next year.

My husband and I spent 3 nights here for our honeymoon in Jan.'06. It was an awesome cabin! The cabin was very clean, and exactly like the pics online and the views were wonderful!! We arrived late and the staff at check-in were very courteous and helpful and the rates are reasonable. We are getting ready to celebrate our 1st anniversary and will definitely stay here again.

My wife and I honeymooned in Pigeon Forge TN and loved staying at Pigeon Forge Cabins. We are from Michigan and loved the short drive(11 hours) to our cabin. The cabin was so clean and looked just like the pictures. It was nicely decorated with a whirlpool, hottub, pool table, outdoor grill. It was a great place to relax and unwind. Their was construction going on so we had to listen to that..otherwise I would of given it 5 stars!

Sugar Maple Cabins have to have some of the best cabins in the industry in this area! We looked them up online to make the reservation, and was really in shock at the number of cabins to choose from! They have soooo many! We looked and looked before we could actually choose the perfect one for us! We were not disappointed with any aspect of our cabin, and were most pleased with the view from all THREE levels of our porches. The hot tub was the perfect setting for gazing out over the mountain view!
