I made the mistake of going to one of those hair salons at the mall. They over processed my hair to the point of bald patches! Needless to say I was extremely nervous about going anywhere for my hair, and refused to let anyone touch my hair for over a year. Finally my husband made an appointment without my knowledge at Tranquil Waters. I had a wonderful relaxing make-over day, I had a massage, facial, and my hair was finally done! They spent time we me, explained what they were doing and why. They were wonderful, and I have great hair again! Thank you Tranquil Waters, I'm now your for life!

Tranquil Waters appreciates feedback. We must have been doing somthing right for you to be comming to us for the last year Patty. Unfortunatly we cannot control who are guests socialize with, and when it's an employee or previous employee who's having performance difficulty some guests tend to want to make it personal for themselves. I was informed you were unable to afford the services any longer, as was the case previously. I do not contact guests to inquire of thier financial situations.

I was a customer of this spa for over a year and spent close to $7000 in products and services during that time. I have decided that my money is too valuable to spend at a place that treats their employee??s terribly, is tense and nickels and dimes you.

The service professionals are excellent and do their best to buffer their clients from the owner. That's not always easy. She is rude to clients and employees.

I had a question for my esthetician about the products I had just spent hundreds of dollars on and she wouldn't let me talk to her. She wanted to answer my questions even though she is not the professional nor does she know about my skin. She also changed my service provider without my knowledge and the fill-in did a TERRIBLE job. The amount of turn over of both clients and employees should have been an indication.

This review comes after much experience with this spa. There were periods of time I was there almost weekly and have experienced a wide variety of services.

The spa is beautiful to look at but you can feel the tension when you walk in. That is not the spa experience I am looking for and especially not at those prices.

Despite all the money I spent there, the owner did not even call to find out what my reasons for leaving were. That would have been basic customer service.

I would strongly recommend against visiting this spa.

I go to TW on a regular basis. I find it disappointing that people from this area have no idea what quality is. They would rather go to dirty place that reuses wax sticks, and cheap products. I've always found the owner to be friendly and professional. People seem to forget that this is also a business. If you want to pay cheap you get cheap. I've found them no more expensive then anywhere else, but much more experienced, clean, and relaxing. I'm not originally from this part of the country, and this is the only place I've seen on the East Coast that actually IS a Dayspa. Not just some after thought or a tiny whole in the wall. If you want quality, and your not a cheapskate, ( you know quality and don't mind paying for it!) this is the place to go! Remember ther's an old addage, you get what you pay for!
PS The gratuity goes to the technichean, just like a waitress in the resturaunt, I ALWAYS tip at least 20% I think it's great that they offer to help figure it!

I've been to Tranquil Waters 4 times -- once for a massage and three times for facials. I've been very disappointed three of the four times but keep going back because my daughter loves the person who does her facials and waxing. The massage was a very weak massage and I felt that the therapist just wanted to get it done. The first facial I had was horrible. The therapist just stood around while I had things on my face rather than doing hand, neck, shoulder and foot massages as I was used to in California. The last facial I received was well done but the time was 35 minutes and the brochure says its an hour procedure. My daughter received a facial in the room next to me and was taken in 20 minutes before me and done 20 minutes after me. I'm now looking for a new spa. For those who wrote about the owner at the desk and the requests for tips -- this is very accurate. She is agrumentive when you suggest something wasn't right, even calls you at home to tell you its your fault and they do suggest an 18-25% tip. Very expensive!

I had a day of beauty from my husband after having a difficult personal experience. Everyone there was wonderful. The treatments were some of the most relaxing I've ever had anywhere.
Everyone was very accomodating. Although I could see they were very busy, (it was a Saturday), they made me feel like I was the only person they were taking care of. I can't wait to go back, even if just for my regular hair appointment. ( I had a clor and cut that was the nicest I have ever had, a total makeover!) I would definitly reccomend it to everyone!

The staff here seems ever changing, the 5 times I've gotten massages here I've only had the same person twice everytime I've tried to request my last massage therapist I was told they no longer worked there. Seems to me like they obviously have a problem keeping a permanent staff. The prices are a little on the steep side but it is a full serivice spa so its expected. However, their gift shop is rediculously overpriced for the nick nacks they have as well as the "cafe" you're better off going down the street to Panera Bread if you're hungry.

I've been there twice and each time was a miserable experience. The manicurists complain incessantly and the waxers are completely unskilled, yet charge high prices for a job that I could have done better at home. The rooms themselves are lovely, and relaxing. The decor is satisfactory (if a little uncreative), but I have very little faith in the skill sets of the staff. I'm used to pampering and I like to give local spas a chance and not always go to national chains like Aveda or Elizabeth Arden, but in this case I will not be back to this tacky place. They charge just as much as a high-end spa, but offer zero quality. I have told all of my girlfriends to stay far away, and they have.

I've been to spas from here to California. I found the staff friendly, the ambiance absolutly beautiful, and the prices the same as I would pay at a hole in the wall, not a large spa such as this! I understand it may be too much for some people, but for people such as myself that are use to being pampered, and have visited many upscale establishments, I found this place to be a hidden gem, and a wonderful find!

This is a wonderful place -- looks small from the road but boasts several venues inside for pampering of all kinds! Massage, relaxation, body and nail care, all of this and more in a beautiful setting. Be sure to visit the attached gift shop!
