I am a piano teacher and I heartily recommend this store. The staff is knowledgeable, and their support of the piano teachers and their students has been overwhelming. We have had after hours rehearsals, recitals, and recording projects, and didn't pay a penny. My students could perform on a Steinway B in a beautiful setting. We will miss Gary Jeffson, Aeron Ogden, and Tim the tuner (sorry, I forgot his last name). We have had nothing but outstanding treatment at Bradford's in Mequon. We are so sad they are closing at the end of June. Anyone shopping for a piano should stop by, I'm sure there will be some good deals due to the closing. The North Shore area is losing a great resource.

PROS: Good people and great pianos in a beautiful setting

We stopped in as serious potential buyers for a nice piano. Bradfords carries Steinway, one of the best. However, we made it clear we wanted a quality piano and the pushy salespeople kept trying to push us into the Chinese Pearl River brand, which is a horrible piano. As a sales manager myself, it was clear knowing how retail commission sales works that these guys were simply out to sell the pianos with the most profit. They didn't know the product well- the guy who had a certificate on the wall for his knowledge had to read out of a brochure while describing the Boston line. Not impressive. Then, the other guy kept trying to push Pearl River even after we said twice that we were only interested in either a Steinway or Boston. To me, this Mequon "Showcase" was basically a fancy showroom for the rich people in Mequon to come and find whatever grand piano for their McMansion that would look good. This was not about the piano and what makes a good piano- it was about sales and commissions...I felt like I walked onto a used car lot. I've been to the Bradford's in Wauwatosa and it is much nicer. We ended up buying a Yamaha from Netzow's which was a far nicer experience (recommend Mark)- very friendly, patient and willing to focus on our needs.

PROS: Steinway makes a great piano
CONS: High prices, pushy sales people and they don't listen; JD Byrider?
