i just moved to this city a about a year ago from la and was having a hard time finding a salon that carries kerastase products and meets my standards.
i made an appointment for botox and a haircut and was suprised by the superior service from the moment i walked in the door.
i was so happy to buy my kerastase products and will definately return to this salon. i couldn't believe how attentive the staff is!
dr zimmerman was so nice and i hate to say it but i like her more than my doc back home.

I went to Avalon in Hyde Park, and the staff made me feel very uncomfortable. It was my first time there, because my normal hairstylist moved out of state, and I thought I'd give them a try on a friends recommendation. My hairstylist had a horrible attitude. I don't think she had a clue how to work with blonde hair because she dyed mine BROWN! I came in to get my roots done, and she matched my blonde hair to my roots instead of my roots to my blonde hair! I thought, there must be a mistake, I asked for MORE blonde, brighter than before. Just when I thought maybe there was a miscommunication, the hairstylist commented that it 'looked better than the blonde-from-a-box look I had before.' I was infuriated. And the manager just stood there backing up her employee instead of the costumer paying $200 to have her hair turned B-R-O-W-N. Please save yourself the trouble if you're a blonde and GO ELSEWHERE!!

I went to Avalon in Hyde Park Plaza and must say I was pleasantly surprised. It appears to be a small little hair salon and spa but when you get inside it's quite spacious and charming. I came in for a consultation with Dr. Zimmerman and found her to be insightful and engaging. She made me feel at ease and comfortable. Not only that, but now i'm wrinkle free with Botox. Avalon has a lot to offer and i'll be back to try one of their day spa packages and maybe a new hairstyle to go with my perfect looking forehead.

I took my husband-to-be and my daughter to Avalon for massages and pedicures on the morning of our wedding. What a great way to start such a special day. The atmosphere was luxurious. We felt pampered and left relaxed and energized.

Avalon is everything it says it is. The service providers are very attentive and the front desk staff is very accomadating. They even went to starbucks for me. Any special event deserves a trip to Avalon salon and spa!

Definitely Different

My experience was nothing last the last reviewer. I actually had the same technician and she was not impressive! Once I got home I realized that the two front sides of my hair, around the face, were not even. One side was about half an inch too short. I ended up having to trim it myself. I believe that to be a big mistake for a hair stylist in an upscale business. They will not be receiving my business again. Atleast, not until they higher qualified technicians.

I was pretty surprised by the price list in terms of offerings as well as prices. Yes, it is incredibly expensive especially if you want the latest skin procedure, but for cuts it's pretty decent. And they do a good job and making sure you get what you are looking for. Location is great too, shop before or after your pampering session.

My best hairstyle ever!!

A friend of mine recommended Ken at Avalon. I agree wholeheartedly with her recommendation. I have never had such a good looking hair style. I have received many, many compliments from family, friends
and co-workers. I am definitely returning in 4 - 6 weeks.
I was leary of another high-end spa after a bad experience downtown but I was very impressed. All of the staff were very friendly and I didn't feel like an outsider. Ken made an initial cut but recommended that I go shorter next time. He convinced me to get the shorter cut this time and I am glad that I did.
Spreading the word about Avalon helps them and you. They reward customers who recommend Avalon to others. In addition, their prices for men's styling are reasonable for quality and service. Finally, I received a personal Thank You note for my custom which just exemplifies their dedication to the client.
Pros: Very knowledgable and personable staff
Cons: Location; it's in a strip mall so don't miss it.

LOVE IT!

I got a spa wish gift card for my birthday and went to avalon to redeem it. I was very impressed with the facility, it was relaxing and very high end. Cincinnati should be proud to have such an wonderful destination spa. The massage with Alan was fantastic and the cut and color with Ken was just what I needed for the summer. Thanks Avalon!

Best facial in town!

i have been a few high end spas in Cincinnati and Avalon is the most posh and friendliest I have tried.
I had the eminence facial with Gayle (love the footbath!!!) and not only is she extremely knowledgeable and professional, her touch is divine.
Then I had a spa pedicure and manicure with Marilyn. The foot mask that tingles-boy did I need that-and they were flawless!
I really appreciate the lack of snooty attitude there.even though their facilities are much more high end than some others, they treat clients like royalty. i will definitely return as soon as possible!

best facial ever! gayle did my brazilian and underarm wax and then my eminence facial. everything from the time that i went in until i left was perfect. will be going back for facials in the future as well massage. LOVE.
la bella needs to take some lessons from them

Very Relaxing!

I had a very different conditioning treatment from Rosina complete with a scalp massage.....My hair felt like silk when she finished. My experience was all around fabulous! I would recomend Avalon to anyone who wants a-list treatment but can feel at home unlike other high end spas in cincy.

Fabulous Facials!

I have had a great experience at this spa. Beautiful facility, great service, and the best facial I have ever had-she treated me like a queen! Very relaxing and foot soak was a fun surprise :) I have been to many spas and this is my favorite by far.
Pros: friendly, professional, and experienced staff
Cons: wish I could afford to go more often but worth the splurge!
