Well, I read all the excellent reviews as well as the scathing reviews and decided to take the manager up on her offer. She appreciates the fact that people are still willing to come in and check it out for themselves and let their experience speak to the quality of the place, that she's willing to give a free first tan and 10% off products. I went and got $35 session absolutely free, saved $10 on some lotion, met some really nice people, and got a base tan in one of the cleanest environments ever! The machine I used judges your skin's potential for tanning/burning and administers just the right amount of rays! I did not burn! I have a great base bronze color started! I would highly recommend this place! The bad reviews I had read just weren't adding up after the excellent ones, and now I know why. Obviously someone with an axe to grind. Go check them out!

It seems some people are looking for a tanning bed to fill this amazing expectation and void in their life, odd, but different strokes for different folks.
It's a tanning bed and meets the criteria of a tanning bed. It has clean beds and friendly high school age girls working there. They will advertise their new specials but not to the point that it's annoying. The only drawback for me is the limited hours. They close at 4 on Sundays when most retailers close at 6.
But for people out their spell-checking employees posts and calling them immature, realize it's pretty impressive that high schoolers in Ashburn are passionate about their service. High-schoolers in the service industry are not paid the big bucks and it's not their career so get over them not being your ideal bed cleaners... seriously...

I'm an employee at Tandulgence and i couldn't ask for a better job. For everyone that says that Tandulgence is "dirty" then I would like to tell you what I, myself and the rest of the employees have to do EVERY night before we close. First, the beds are cleaned completely with hospital sanitizer. The tops of the beds, all the acrylic inside the bed, the pillow/head rest, and the chair are cleaned after every use.We dispose all the trash out of the bathroom, tanning rooms, front desk and vanity area every night. We swiffer, vacuum, and windex all floors, under beds, mirrors, and glass areas. We make sure the bathroom is clean by cleaning the toilet every night, making sure the soap is filled and towels and toilet paper are stocked. The vanity area is clean from smudges and is organized, we make sure that the necessities are stocked with face wipes and towels. We wash all towels and fold them for your connivence and place them on the beds. We clean the spray tan down after every use by washing it down and wiping it down with a towel to get any excess off tanning spray off. To say that we're "dirty" is the farthest thing away from the truth. If we forget to do one of these every night duties, We are made sure of to be notified by one of the managers for not doing one of these tasks.
To say that we are rude it another thing. We have been trained to know about skin car, the tanning beds and the types of rays it has, and our packages that we have. We get to know our clients on a different level by memorizing their names and their likes and dislikes. Thats one of our big things that we try to do to make your experience that much better. Our employees are very understanding and concatenate when it comes to problems clients might have and we do our best to help them and fix the problem as fast as we can. When new clients come in we are very welcoming. We discuss what they might be interested in and what type of lotion would be good for their specific skin type. We show them how to use their bed and inform them with upcoming specials. All of our employees are dedicated to their jobs. We do the best that we can to make Tandulgence a clean and relaxing environment for everyone.We h ave very committed clients that know what we are all about and that we strive to be the best. All i can say is that you come in and see for your self. I promise you won't be disappointed.

All this = one world class establishment. Tandulgence is easy to find, they have the nicest people working the desk who are so helpful and knowledgeable. They really work hard to find your perfect tanning solution. In addition, prices may be high but they offer so many deals online or at the salon it becomes more affordable than you think. In addition to all this, it's a clean place. I see the employees constantly cleaning the floors, beds and laundering the towels. Everything you'd expect for your money.
If I had one thing I'd change, it would have full length mirrors in all the rooms. Other than that, this place is the best around.

Tandulgence is the best tanning salon i have ever been to. It is VERY CLEAN and the employees always go the extra mile to try to make my stay the best as possible. I NEVER have experienced bad service at Tandulgence, and i have been tanning there for 3 years. So people who are saying tandulgence sucks... needs to get their facts straight.. PALM BEACH TAN SUCKS.. its dirty their spray tan never gets clean along with their bathrooms. ATLANTIC TANNING makes you clean your own beds.. whats the point in paying so much money for tanning if you have to clean your own bed!? and what if the person before you doesnt clean your bed!? you are pretty much laying in an un-sanitary bed if you are going to Atlantic. Tandulgence is top of the line. With the widest range of lotions you can buy. There are sooo many. Image sun has nothing to pick from .. there are like 5 lotions on the shelf.. tandulgence has like 30. Tandulgence is amazing, i am so glad i found this amazing tanning salon because the other salons SUCK! you cant even compare Tandulgence to any other salons because Tandulgence is ten times better than any other salon. all the employees are so helpful and they actually know what they are talking about. Tandulgence is really the place to tan.. others who think differently are just plain STUPID..

I have been a member of Tandulgence for over 3 years now and I absolutely love this salon. Not only is it one of the cleanest tanning salon's I've been to but the staff is absolutely wonderful. Joe, the manager, is a very knowledgeable and friendly guy. I actually enjoy interacting with him during my visits because he is such a character. I have never had a bad experience at this salon but am confident that if I ever did the management would be more than willing to rectify it. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone interested in tanning!!

For those who have been disgruntled - why not call the store's management (or owner) and simply communicate calmly how you feel? This has worked for me - and you may actually get discounts or free product for your trouble. Businesses usually want to make you happy - but you have to be the first to speak up! I'd be curious to see how they respond.

I use the spray tan and have found the staff to be helpful and upbeat, especially Joe. He has helped me several times, patiently explaining how to use the machine, barrier cream - and demonstrating the tan poses (poses you strike in the booth while being sprayed to make sure the stuff is evenly applied over your entire body). The guy even did a touch up last year when I had a bare spot. As a registered nurse, I'm not a big tanning advocate, but I do like this place. It is clean and well organized. I even bought one of their spray tanning packages for $100.00 - which takes trust. I would recommend them.

I have been to the Sterling location, and nothing special about it really. Cramped, dark and dingy feeling. Higher end bed selection not impressive or numerous; I believe none at this location have the contoured acrylic, which is always a nice feature. Mid range beds seemed old and outdated. Other than the bed in the front, other rooms seemed crowded. No mirrors in the rooms. Music options are limited to one satellite station with volume control only. Waiting area consisted of outdated black leather couch and childishly written propaganda for tanning. Although a convenient plus is that they will hold onto your lotion/tanning goods. Customer service was fine; nothing above and beyond. Overall, not impressive. Would be a place to go if you had to, but just as the title states, mediocre at best.

And just to comment on the remark from the employee who works at Tandulgence...this (mine anyways) is purely a consumer's review/I bought a membership there; dismissing the negative comments other people may have left shows ignorance and immaturity. I would expect all tanning salons to follow those procedures. Feedback isn't always going to be positive...take the negative feedback and learn from it.

Tandulgence is by far the BEST tanning Salon I've ever been to. I've been tanning there for about 4 years now and have NEVER had a bad experience. I'm sure not every employee has been the perfect one but that is with any business and to my knowledge any whom are rude or lazy don't last long. Tonya the owner and her husband are AWESOME. They are NEVER too busy to answer my husband and I's questions. They have the best beds and the best price, I get great color there and the best lotion selection. I have recently moved out of Ashburn and now have reluctantly had to change salons but I still go back and get my lotions there and I am patiently waiting for them to open up another salon near me. Go use any other salon in the area and you will see that they are extremely over priced and not half as well stocked in quality beds or lotions. Tandulgence is the best place I've ever been to and I am appalled anyone would say otherwise... I work for LCPS in case anyone says otherwise and have never worked there. I actually only came across this page because I was googling thier phone number so I could make an appointment for spray tanning before I leave for my vacation, and the only reason I have to do that is because my tan from another salon closer to me is that lacking in color.

I used to love this place. I would come to the sterling location when I was in High School and in College, I LOVED it there. The prices were a little high for me, but since I was a student I got a great deal, and great color. THEN, I moved out to Ashburn where I wanted to continue to tan at the location out there. I WAS IN SHOCK at the way I was treated...NASTY NASTY NASTY is the only word I can think of for the attitude I got when I was there! I used to have a membership there, but after that day when I was so rudely treated I never stepped foot in their door again! I wont even go to the Sterling location. Which is sad cause I really liked it there....

So if you want to go to a salon that will treat you like crap then go there...but when I go tanning I want to relax and have it be stress free!! Don't you?!?

The negative reviews about this place are true.I went to the salon today for the first time and experienced horrible customer service from Manager Michelle. When I walked in and stood in front of the counter, the one girl behind texted on her cell phone and then walked away without even looking at me.Michelle typed on the computer and then she too walked away to clean beds. I was standing right in front of them and neither said a word to me. It took them about five minutes to come back to the front, where then they both sat down and continued to ignore me. Finally I asked them for help. Seriously, it was unbelievable. I should have walked out. I will not be coming back.

I have tanned with TanDuldgence off and on for about 4 years now.
Due to my work travel- during the summers I am stationed in various cities so I am unable to tan at TanDuldgence so I use other locations.
TanDuldgence is by far the best tanning salon I have been too.

The beds are TOP OF THE LINE - no question about it.
The employees are ALWAYS friendly and know about the products the salon uses in detail.
There is hardly ever a wait for a bed (since both locations have at least 15 beds) and if there is a wait its at the max 5 minutes.

The negative reviews are horrible- it seems as if a former employee is mad at a front desk employee- way to make it clear!

We have been frequenting this business since it opened. The place is clean and the equipment is well maintained. The staff treats everyone with respect. The owner of this business is first class and she respects her clients.

Hey guys, I've been working at Tandulgence for awhile now and all of those who've left negative comments about are salon are either
A- competitors
or
B- ex-employee's. Nobody has any reason to believe those comments. Let me tell you something..

1. Someone is ALWAYS at the front desk.2. Beds are ALWAYS clean & AVAILABLE..the only time you may have to wait on a bed is if all beds are being occupied.3. WE LOVE OUR JOB & OUR CLIENTS!4. We DO NOT leave the salon until EVERYTHING is clean. EVERYTHING.. including beds tops of beds floors must be moped or vacuumed.. even the TRASHCANS ARE WASHED ONCE OR TWICE WEEKLY!!!!5. If you don't believe any of this & want to Tan.. at least come in and check it out for yourself. We offer one free tan to new members and I can guarantee you'll come back. At other tanning salons you may have to clean your own bed.. you don't get the luxury of having towels.. their bathrooms may be nasty unsanitized..etc. Well.. we're very professional.. ALL employee's know all about skincare & products and we would more than love to have you come in and join the amazing experience you'll have here at TANDULGENCE.6. Our atmosphere is unbeatable. If your waiting on someone you may find it enjoyable just hanging around & relaxing at our salon. We have a very modern, inviting, & beautiful decor.7. The Owner & Manager's are incredible.. they'd do anything to help you out & they take pride in our salon.

I had to wait a good 5 minutes before someone finally came to the front to put me in a bed. I asked about some of the lotion and received an attitude from the girl as if I was impeding on her laziness. She sat in a stool and swiveled back and forth the whole time, never making eye contact or seeming enthusiastic about working.

I decided to read some reviews to see if I went in on an "off" day, but the review below mine seems written by an employee and there are too many other negative reviews for me to try that place again. I will take my money to another salon.

I have been going to tandulgence for about 6 months now, and I actually drive an hour and a half to go there when I visit a friend. I love it THAT much! The people have ALWAYS been professional and wonderful. there have been some employees that were a bit more lax than others, and honestly, I am glad to see that the owner has rectified that situation and let them go. I have always had clean beds, the waiting area is BEAUTIFUL and it truly makes you feel like you walked into a high class salon...not like some places with plastic chairs and no decor. Any time that I have had a problem it has been corrected immediately. I believe these review pages are always a bit skewed as the only people that think to find a place to write a review, are those who had a bad experience for whatever reason, or have heard from someone else that people were badmouthing it. So what can it hurt to get a free tan and check it out for yourself before making a decision to pass it over? I think the fact that the manager is offering the incentives she is, is a great display of the confidence they have in the performance of their salon.

I've been going to Tandulgence for a year now. The place is great -- clean, friendly and priced well. The people who wrote the bad reviews stink of either disgruntled employees or immature people trying to get back at someone who works there. Every time I go, the place is busy, the employees are running around cleaning beds (including the owner) and I'm always treated in a friendly manner.
I recommend Tandulgence.

Let me tell everyone something, I am a full-time employee of Tandulgence & I put in many hours a week with this business, to make sure everything runs smoothly with both salons. My name is Michelle and I am the manager of Tandulgence. We always try to resolve any problems (little or big) that may arise immediately. I do want everyone to know how hard these girls work and how dedicated they are to Tandulgence. They constantly work hard to please every client that walks through the door along with keeping the place spotless! They do not EVER leave the salons dirty. The girls behind the front desk are all smart tan & skin certified, so we are very well educated. If you ever have a question we are always here to help you out & if we don't know the answer we always find out the answer for our clients. We have many loyal clients that would not dare go anywhere else. If the place was so dirty, not friendly or helpful, wouldn't you think our most loyal clients would go some where else? But, they are still here after 4 years and still tanning with Tandulgence. Our clients are a part of our family, not just tanning but on a personal level. We will go that extra mile for our clients not because we have to but because we would be more than happy to do anything for our clients. I have read the reviews from Donna W and Cindy H and I think that Cindy H is an employee at the salon and that she is trying to make the place sound good when people are just giving their take on the place. I am new to the area and was looking in here to find a place to tan. I don't think I would go to Tandulgence. If the people putting in comments in here about a business are attacked by what they say then there is no way I would go to that place. This is a free country and we have the freedom of speech, but to say some of the things that was said about Donna W was not right she was giving her comments about a business, and in turn she was attacked which from the take of it was by an employee of Tandulgence, is just wrong. I think I will take Donna W advice and go to Palm Beach Tanning.

Actually Susan W i went to the sterling location when all that happened. Then a very good friend said the Ashburn salon was much better so i went, and what do you know same bad service and it was dirty. So she no longer tans there! And you said in your comment that "how do we know what location you are talking about"? Kind of funny you said "we" OH i see the employees are writing all the good comments about Tandulgence. You guys really shouldn't try so hard, sorry you suck. I just started tanning at Palm Beach and they are awesome! Clean, friendly, and not dirty. They care about there customers. Unlike Tandulgence!!!!!

I just read the last remark made by Donna W., she must be corrected. Tandulgence is by far the best salon around. If Donna thinks the place is disgusting she must be blind. As for the employees behind the counter they are as cute as a button and extremely helpful. They would never ignore anyone, I like to go in and just talk with them since they are so nice. Donna I think you must be from a competitors tanning salon or just jealous of the girls. Get over yourself, it is a tanning salon for god's sake, are you that miserable or depressed of a person to have to talk so meanly about a business? Get a life! Tandulgence takes care of their clients and their salon, not saying much for the others salons in the area. I like the comment where someone stated "You can't believe what everyone says, you must go in and see for yourself!" That is so true, go see for yourself and you will see that "Donna" (if that is her real name) is a huge liar! It's one thing if you stated you didn't like the place ... you are entitled to your opinion, but to attack a business that you don't even tan there ... ha you are one character of a person. Why don't you go and say something to the owner if you think it is that disgusting? Of course, you would never do that ... right? Tandulgence is a great place, clean, beautiful decor and always pleasant.

Tandulgence sucks! There was a girl there who was so rude to me. She did not care about having a new customer. She barely explained anything to me and when she was she was not even looking at me like, she was talking to the wall or something. And it was very dirty. The appearance of both the salon itself and the employees just disgusted me.

I just moved to this area and wanted to find a place to tan. Tandulgence was close to my house so I went in to check it out. I can tell you I was not very happy. The place was not that clean and the girl behind the desk was not dressed very well. That was my first impression of the place and it didn't get better. I went to look around since no one seem to want to help me and half of the beds had not been cleaned, and the girl behind the desk was sitting there doing nothing. If this is the way this place is ran I'm sure not going to go there. My first impression is what I go on and this place was bad not clean and people who work there are dressed like trash. I would advise anyone not to go to this salon...

Very Clean, the floors are always clean. Everyone has been very helpful and they know what they are talking about! If people read these comments, don't go by what everyone says, you need to find out for yourself. Plus, you never know who the people are and if they have even been in the salon, instead they are just rude individuals. I believe this insider page is a joke. Tandulgence is awesome, that is my opinion, but you need to find out for yourself.

Tandulgence is a okay place i guess. I would not do the membership's there though. I had one, The $19.95 membership for 1 year. Well they never actually stated it but, in the contract it said "That after 12 month's it would switch over to month to month. But they never never told me this when i signed up. Yes I know i should have read it completely but, my mother told me this Tanning Salon was good. So i never would have thought anything of it. Well let me go on. I cancelled my membership in May. They say they require a 30 days notice, which is fine. So my last payment would have been in June. Well i got charged in JULY as well. I was very upset. After to talking to one out of 3 employee's and talking to there credit card company. We got the problem taken care of. My Mother got billed a second time after she cancelled as well. Like i said "okay place to get a Base tan JUST DON'T DO THE MEMBERSHIPS"

All i have to say is RUDE! Not friendly at all. Tops of the beds still had fingerprints went i went in there. Did not educate me on the right lotion to use. I would just say to use a different salon.

I can't say enough hope helpful everyone at Tandulgence has been. I was going on vacation and I started tanning so I did not get burned. The staff was great, they helped me every step of the way. Thanks to their help my vacation was great and I did not get burned! Tandulgence was great and very clean. I highly recommend Tandulgence for all you tanning needs! I love the staff, great personalities, always happy.

The owners and the staff are terrific people. I have been a tanner at Tandulgence for 3 years and would not dare go anywhere else. They are always very clean and very helpful. As for the person that did the spray tan ... maybe you just didn't follow the employees instructions. I have sprayed and love it ... and I am not orange.

Tandulgence has very good tanning beds and a variety for your tanning needs. It has a very good clean enviroment and the beds are alwasy very clean. No worries if the bed is clean. They run specials all the time so you are sure to catch a good price. Also, a very good location.
