Muhlenberg College is truly one of the top private, liberal arts schools in the country. Admissions are highly selective, making the campus an intellectualy and socially stimulating place to be. The professors are excellent--they truly care about their students and go out of their way to help provide things like research opportunities and internships to those students who prove themselves to be especially motivated and promising in their major or minor of interest. Muhlenberg encourages students to be both academically and socially open-minded and well rounded. The majority of students on campus have been or still are involved in some type of service learning with the local community. The college has a positive, dynamic relationship with the people of Allentown (rather than functioning as a separate or superior entity that happens to be surrounded by the city). Allentown itself may not offer the best night life, but the college offers enough social opportunities to make it easy to forget that fact. If you want to go Greek, you can. If you want to act or dance in the school productions, you can. If you want to become active on campus--there exist a huge variety of opportunities to do so. Students can join clubs relating to career and graduate school planning, to every imaginable major or minor, and to all types of personal interests such as mental health, LGBT issues, racial tolerance, policital and religious beliefs, sports/hobbies, and volunteering/fundraising...to name a few. Many colleges boast this type of extracurricular environment, but Muhlenberg actually lives up to it. Furthermore, being invovled on and off campus is considered rewarding and fun. Being apathetic gets you little "cool points" at a place like Muhlenberg. Students here work hard and still leave time for living out the best type of social and personal college experience. Come here for a tour, an interview, a class, and an overnight visit. I really mean that. If you do, you'll experience a little bit of the type of place I've described--and you'll most likely want more.

Muhlenberg is a small, boutiquey, liberal arts college. It is far from an easy school, Lehigh for example, has a much easier cirriculum. The cost of attending Muhlenberg has gone up in cost drastictly. If I were to send a child again, I would look further south. The current president does not have much interest in the student body unfortunately. He has done some good things but that is not one of them.Overall, it's a fine college but you will pay for it in many ways.

Muhlenberg is a great college, located in a great part of Allentown. The campus is absolutely beautiful, and there is plenty to do in the area. You are in walking distance to some good bars and restaurants which is a plus while you are in college.
