Four Adults and Six Children...dinner rush on a Wednesday night - what were we thinking! The place was very busy but we were seated about 20 minutes later. Super server, she was friendly and knowledgeable, even told us to share a dish (she was right, it was huge). We never had to ask for a drink refill and she kept the chips and salsa coming. Everyone completely loved their meals - I ordered the Vegetarian Fiesta - the black bean cake was awesome, way better than it looked. My husband had the grouper tacos - my brother in law had a bbq salmon, it was huge and delicious, I stole a bite. My 12 year old daughter loved it so much she used her own money to buy a t-shirt! We will definitely eat here again next time we are in Traverse City! Awesome Awesome!!

The waitstaff is always knowledgeable. I like to try different things, but don't want to get caught up in the nachos/burritos thing that pseudo-Mexican restaurants feature; the waitstaff is very helpful without being "cute" or pushy. Reasonable prices. Great drinks (no margarita mix here!!!)

My husband loves Mexican Food, so while on vacation in Traverse City we stopped at Red Mesa Grill. It was easy to find and had good parking. The staff was friendly and the place seemed like a really fun place for a night out on the town.

The food was inexpensive and good. Our dinners were fresh and hot. Our beers cold. Perfect. We would go back again if we were in the area.

My first experience at the Red Mesa Grill wasn't anything to be raving about, but it wasn't really anything to be upset about either. They had two vegetarian dishes on the entire menu so it sort of strained my choices to say the least. But nobody else was raving about their meals either.

The decoration and mood of the restaurant however, was quite nice, and reminded me of Pearls in Elk Rapids. Very colorful with huge wall displays, a fireplace, and great music.

But if you're going to dip your toes in the Red Mesa, I would recommend a fifteen extra minute drive to Pearl's for their Cajun cuisine, it's definitely worth it.

The Red Mesa Grill is an offshoot from the owners of the reknowned Pearls restaurant. It has all of the style and charm of that earlier cousin. The Red Mesa serves a charming mix of Spanish-Mexican food, with an emphasis on the more high-end Spanish cuisine rather than a Tex-Mex influence. The Shrimp Fajitas are my favorite entree, and the best I've ever eaten. They have a nice, hip atmosphere with a fun and casual edge, and a great nightlife!

Great atmosphere and tasty food! The owners of this restaurant specialize in specialty restaurants/food delicacies. Be sure to eat here if you enjoy spicy or mexican food. Delicious and reasonable pricing! They have over 100 varieties of tequilas and you get some type of "prize" only available through the restaurant once you fill your punch card for having tried each one. Novelty tequila items for sale as well. large variety on menu. I wouldn't bring my children there although they do have highchairs...It just seemed like more of a bar scene (at least int he area we sat in). Good food though.

PROS: Tasty Food!
CONS: not really place for kids except maybe for lunch
