My beautiful black lab had never been to the groomers before this trip. My dog is the friendliest pup ever and usually loves everyone. The second we walked into classy clip grooming salon my dog ran right up to the groomer, who was grumpy and started to yank on my dogs leash to get her to go into the SMALL, EXTREMELY CRAMPED room that they call a grooming salon. It is a CLOSET that they keep about 15 dogs in cages the whole entire day. Instead of being welcoming and friendly to my dog, she was grumpy which led my dog to be extremely nervous and scared. she shoved my dog into the room and told me i could leave. I was so upset that right when I got home I called the salon to make sure my dog was OK. They informed me that she was fine but the WHOLE entire day I was a nervous wreck! My 100+ pound black lab was shoved into a little crate (she NEVER goes in crates) and was expected to sit there all day. Classy clip grooming salon over books their days work having puppys and large dogs sit in crates all day. I dropped my dog off at 10am. I was told to pick her up at 4. I called at 2:30 to see if my dog was done if I could come pick her up early. The lady who answered the phone seemed to be annoyed at me and told me that they hadn't even started working on my dog! 4.5 hours my dog had to sit in a crate for NOTHING!!! Why couldn't I have dropped her off at a later point. I immediately jumped in my car and drove there. When I showed up the manager became very upset that I was early, but I was very nice and said that I would just wait. After an hour and a half of looking at fish, my doggy came running out so happy to see me. The experience was horrible, the worker was unprofessional, rude, and did not show my dog any respect or friendly attitude. No dog would feel comfortable in this atmosphere!
Cons: unfriendly service...horrible experience
One male puppy that we purchased from Cedar Crest Pets was examined by a veterinarian immediately after our purchase and found to have kennel cough, ocular & nasal discharge, was pyretic and had the presence of a misaligned jaw. We were also informed that he should not be considered for any breeding purposes. He was constantly having what can only be described as "night terrors", waking up growling and snapping. He would not sleep on a cushioned dog mattress but preferred to sleep only on high, hard surfaces. He also did not like to be touched from his middle back area to and including the tail. His behavior became very concering and suspect to us. We did some research and found that he had come from B & J Kennels in Union Star, MO owned and operated by JoAnn & Bill Simmons. After further research, we could not believe the absolutely HORRIBLE living conditions that our poor puppy had been subjected to. Please go to www.prisonersofgreed (use the true form of the following as the short version is not allowed for some reason.)"dot organization"/JBauction.html and see for yourselves the terribly heinous, gutwrenching "puppymill"! WARNING- you will need a strong stomach and plenty of tissues. Yes- we could have gotten our money back ($436.93) and returned the puppy to Cedar Crest Pets. Absolutely NOT- money was not even a factor in our desicion to keep the puppy. Simply that there was absolutely no way that we could subject any living creature to a place that would condone purchasing and reselling these puppies for reasons apparantly none other than plain GREED! We are happy to say that our male puppy (now adult) has made tremendous strides, is healthy and a much loved member of our family. Please, Please, Please think twice about supporting a "business" that condones and enables this abuse.
Cons: PUPPIES ARE FROM HORRIBLE PUPPYMILLS!
