I like this place so much! I love the food and the help--they are so patient! I wish there were more room to eat inside. I live pretty far to take stuff out. It's OK in the summer--I can take food to the park and eat. But in the winter, I'd like to be able to sit inside and eat all the time. But that's a small complaint given the food and the prices here.

I've gone here multiple times for lunch, and it is fantastic! The staff is very friendly, even when it's super busy (which it often is during lunch hour). It's a small place, so it can get crowded, but they do a good job of keeping the line moving & keeping things organized.

Pros: excellent service, excellent food, reasonable prices

Cons: small, crowded

I love this place. Everything I've tried has been very good but I keep coming back for the falafel sandwich. The small one is the perfect size and price for a quick lunch.

Pros: so so so good

Cons: small, gets crowded during the lunch rush

I love mama's. I've been there for lunch a handful of times, and although the lines sometime go out onto the sidewalk, I think it's worth it. Falafels are great.

The food is simple and wonderful. The best falalfel and softest pita bread I have ever eaten. I love this place. Where else can you get full on $3.50?

Pros: best falafel ever

Cons: only one outside table

The staff is friendly and the service is quick even thought the line can go out the door during lunch time. They have good falafel that is not too expensive.

This place has GREAT falafal's! They are quick, cheap, delicious and filling. Just the sort of place that is often missing in Philadelphia. The staff are friendly and were willing to answer questions and let us sample different otions.

To be honest, I have never eaten here so I can't review the food, just the service and the hours. I tried to eat here at 7 pm on a Thursday night (they are supposed to be open until 9). The carpets had been rolled up and the chairs put on the tables. The counter girl was inattentive/surly and a guy in the back gruffly called out "Take out only." It hardly looked open. Then I found out the entire condiment bar was shut down - the counter girl was surprised we wouldn't want to get food if they had only falafel and potato pancakes leftover presumably from the morning - no hummus, no tahini, no fried cauliflower, nothing.

Maybe it's a good lunch place but it shouldn't advertise being open until 9 if the staff shuts everything down before 7 pm. Do the owners even know?

Ever since they took over this space, I have been a fan. Great food. Although when they first opened, the sevice was much better. I miss the guys that used to work there. I guess they were the sons of the owner or family, they seemed to care a little bit more. Now the guys back there are pretty "meh" They started serving whole wheat pita-a very welcome change.

They are closed Friday night and Saturday, as they are Orthodox , along with the Jewish holidays so plan accordingly.

Still the best falafel in the city (yes Moaz, I'm including you on this)

And it's a good deal. The mama's platter is eight or so falafel-balls with a mountain of three salads and hummus, for 7 or so dollars!

At Mamas the falafel (large) is served in a freshly baked (white or wheat) pita. Unlike most falafel joints, hummus is a default condiment, along with the pickled cabbage, tomatoes, Israeli salad and yogurt style dressing. The hot sauce is flavorful, but not especially hot, at least not to the capsaicinaholic. They pack the pita with fresh, savory falafel and serve the sandwich warm. For just $5, Mamas falafel is a cheap and satisfying way to bed down your appetite. The stools arrayed at the store front window offer a pleasant view of the passers by near Rittenhouse Park.

Pros: Excellent falafel.

Cons: They serve little other than falafel.
