I just love going to Honey's especially when I am feeling a little bit homesick. I don't know why since I grew up far, far, away but everyone is just so darn nice. I always see the same familiar staff and they smile just like they

I dont even want to tell one more person as the only downside of this place is how crowded it gets. Its like a shore place. open windows when they feel like it. A/C inside. THE FOOD- all American "breakfast for dinner" style. Kid friendly. Dont let the hippies scare you, they are adorable and know what they are doing. Good service, good food. All DAY !

Southern and Jewish? What's not to like y'all?
Honey's is a favorite spot for breakfast/brunch of course, but dinner ain't bad either. I have friends who insist on a honeys visit when they are in Philly.
BUT: Don't get there between 10:00 and 12:00 on a Saturday morning and expect a table to be waiting for you. It's worth it to get up early, get a table and then go home for a snuggle or a nap.
The only bad thing (and yes, this brought it down to 4 stars): coffee isn't great or strong. There's plenty of it , but that's not the same as great coffee.

Pros: Eclectic and well prepared food

Cons: If your late, you'll wait

Often full, so go early for breakfast (before 10) or lunch, especially on weekends. Also, the daily specials are great.

Outside table are great, but can be hot. It's a treasure in Northern Liberties section of town.

Pros: Casual, friendly staff, good 'home cooking' & desserts!

Cons: Sometimes music is loud, but they'll turn it down if you ask

i've eaten at honey's once. their food was pretty good. the service was good too. but i didn't like the indoor atmosphere. it was a little too dark and loud. i couldn't bring myself to sit inside to eat so we ate outside, which was a lot more pleasant. i'd go there again for food.

I had the Pancakes and the Eggs benedict with Salmon!!! It was so good we went back the next day, but they were so packed that it was a 2 hour wait!!! My godson said the french toast was so good that he needs to go back for his birthday LOL. This restaurant is one of Phillies well kept secrets!!!

Pros: The food

Cons: The small size of the place

I came here for the first time and the hostess was extremely rude. We were a party of 5 and she sat a party of three at a party of five table because they put their name in seconds before we did. We ended up having to still wait for another 20 minutes. The worth was not waiting for. I would never go back there again. If you want attitude, go there/

Cons: People that manage and work there

i was visiting from Virginia, and hadn't been to Philly in years after leaving AC.

i must admit that initially i was concerned based on the location, thinking that the food would not be all that great.....................BUT...........the guacamole dip, the vegan chilli fries, your version of ranch dressing [with a hint of dill] - unusually tasty......and the dessert.....i honestly did not want to leave....

the regular customer, who took me there for the first time, clearly understood that i was having an ORGANIC experience, right there at the table...lol

long story short, my child's daycare teacher is from Philly, and your restaurant is all i've talked to her about - we are making plans so that i can make it back there again over this summer, while i visit my mom in Atlantic City.....and please be open....lol

thank you for the heavenly experience.

Cons: location, i could never find it as a visitor in Philly

Fresh, local, and looks delicious. And that is just the staff. And then the food is so good! I have been here countless times and they really know how to work an EXTENSIVE menu FAST! The menu is crammed with tiny print both sides of wonderful things! vegetarian friendly! Something for everyone, and the servers are sweet and patient. Dr. Pepper from the fountain is so good here too.

My family and I come in weekly for the bargain breakfast-- two eggs, a latke, challah toast and coffee for four dollars. You can't beat that anywhere in town, especially not anywhere with this much charm and friendliness.

I go by this place a lot, daily, in fact. There are always folks outside waiting to get in. Swarms of folks, sometimes. I've stopped by to read the menu... There is no way am I waiting 2 hours for brunch, especially with many other local places to choose from...

One day I managed to pop in and grab a seat for brunch. Had a hankering for Huevos Rancheros. Now, it could be that this isn't their specialty, but they were terrible. The most bland, watery and disappointing Huevos I have ever had. And I do like my Huevos. And they cost a fortune. The table service was slow, the kitchen was slow, the food was terrible, the coffee was burnt, the people were for the most part nice, if a little slow. Did I mention slow? And terrible? This place is way over-hyped. But, by all means, keep going there. It means I can get a table at a more flavorful and punctual local brunch spot?

I think it's funny when people complaints about a place that is too busy and they have to wait (I mean come on if that many people are going to a place it has to be good!), and I think it's funny that another con was location, haha, sorry it's not in your neighborhood b/c it is in mine and I am loving it! Ok, now to the food....there is basically and endless menu of new things to try, of almost every origin too! I can go in and try a new thing every time I go in...which is almost 3 times a week. It's a great date place, family place, group gathering place, it's warm and cozy, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the staff is top notch. As for that one guy with the 4 foot cheese....you loved the place the first time...everyone is allowed to have a mess up don't know a place for a fluke.....but anyway...go to Honey's you become addicted and be there every day!

Cons: Absolutely nothing...

I know, people love this place and I respect for the freshness and local buying. The blt is good, but there is no way it is worth the wait you see there on any weekend day - people on every corner for like an hour, c'mon...

This is a very popular place for brunch on the weekends, but as a result, the wait is forever and a day. I find that annoying, and often give up waiting, but the food is really good. Check it out!

I love this place - they have EVERYTHING in the world, including some awesome blueberry preserves that taste great on their [warm!] biscuits. The only problem is that is gets busy, and there aren't enough workers to serve people quickly. Go on off-hours.

My wife and I went to this resturant on our 25th anniversary and we were impressed. That was then and today's experience has put us in the NEVER AGAIN clients. We ordered a a brisket sandwich which we were going to share but for some reason when I attempted to cut it in half the a large section of the bottom part of the sandwich was so hard the knife could not cut it. I found out it was a larger peice of hardened cheese about 3' by 2'. That was bad enough when I saw a member of the staff with a large 'abrasion" on his right forearm. It may have been covered with some type of liquid bandage it should have been covered with some type of bandage. In California they would have closed the resturant down. There were a few other problems but the above are enough to make us only former customers.

I have been for brunch two times. There were very accurate about the wait time. The food is very good and the atmosphere fun for a sunday brunch place. It does get a bit hot in there- not sure about the AC function.

Overall, I recommend it!

my boyfriend and i go to breakfast every weekend and honey's is our hands-down favorite. try the whole wheat pancakes - they're delicious. stuffed with all kinds of fruit. try the strange things on the menu too.... the breakfast quesadilla sounds like a weird combination but it is fantastic as well. expect to wait after 10am on weekends, but it's well worth it.

The food was good, whether it was traditional breakfast food or something funkier. Although I'm not a vegetarian, the place is veggie friendly. There are also daily specials that change, as well as daily specials on the regular menu. I said the portions are large, and please believe me. You'll certainly not go hungry at Honey's!

Went on a Saturday mornign for brunch. Luckily a friend had warned us about the wait. Be sure to bring something to entertain yourself (such as a newspaper) and maybe some coffee. Also note, you'll probably be waiting outside, but they are smart enough to provide a heat lamp.

Once we got inside the food was great. I had the chicken-steak (comes with two eggs, biscuit, potato pancake) and my girl firend had the banana-walnut pancakes. Everything was excellent. There appeared to be some good vegetarian choices too should that be a concern. The staff was awesome and on top of everything. The ambience and general crowd there is very cool. Highly recommended!

We went here because so many people raved about it...we were very very disappointed!!
I ordered the eggs Benedict and the sauce on top was spicy...who wants spice sauce with eggs??...not me!! There was so many peppers and onions throughout the potatoes.... that they were inedible. The coffee was extremely bitter.

The only saving grace was the cranberry juice was cold and the people who worked there were very friendly. Its ashame they dont just let there food speak for itself...they obviously use really fresh ingredients...and if they didnt overload it with peppers and onions it would be fantastic!!

Honey's has some great food, particularly the challah french toast. They also have excellent biscuits. Pancakes with fillings such as bananas were light and better than average too. The BBQ pork sandwiches are just fair while teh brisciut sandwiches were dry and overcooked. Breakfast is served all day here, and apparently lunch specials can be ordered in the morning hours as well. The hostess and table runners were extremely attentive and kept checking to make sure we were happy but our servers on mulitple visits have been either slow or disappered frequently. The food came out quickly, however, but it gets crowded on weekend mornings so you may be in for a wait.

I went to Honey's for the first time on Saturday, and i had a wonderful experience. We went for lunch around 3:00 PM, so there was no wait at all. My sister ordered the cream of mushroom soup and loved it. I ordered the veggie burger with french fries-which was absolutely delish!! The veggie burger is served on brioche with a tangy sauce, which makes for an awesome combination. The french fries were seasoned well, and had a nice thick texture. Also, they didn't taste like they were overly fried, which made me feel a little less guilty about eating them. I also ordered the 2 beet salad, which features weird springy greens, red beets and yellow beets, and feta cheese-pretty straightforward. It was nice and light and came with a balsamic dressing on the side which complemented the greens nicely. My sister and I were completely satisfied with our lunch experience; however, next time we are definitely going to order breakfast. The people at the tables surrounding us had the most awesome looking meals-thick slices of french toast, turkey sausages, omelettes- my mouth was watering!!!

So. I recently moved to Phila and have been relentlessly searching for a funky/chill/anything goes eating spot with amazing food. Found it. Honey's. The mix of people is just great; everyone has a distinct personal style and emits a down-to-earth vibe. Mid 20s to mid 50s was the age mix. Even cooler? I saw a family with their children getting their grub on. Now...getting down to the nitty-gritty. The food was excellent. Huge variety, something for everyone (vegan/veggie). Fresh ingredients, creative ideas, awesome staff. If you don't might waiting for a table (up to 1 hr) your senses will thank you.
Bravo!

Honey's is definately my favorite brunch place. They have something for everyone, even vegans (which I am). The only thing that would make Honey's better for me would be to have a few more vegan options, like maybe vegan french toast or pancakes. That would rock. Anytime someone is visiting me from out of town, my husband and I take them to Honey's.

A top-flight breakfast experience. The menu ranges from jewish standards (lox, whitefish) to traditional pancakes, home-made sausage, delicious french toast. All top quality, good service and kid-friendly to boot. Can be a long wait, but nothing compared to other popular breakfast spots. Can't go wrong here.

I went for the first time 3 weeks ago on a Sunday with my boyfriend. The next week we took his kids and a friend and loved it just as much! It's our new favorite spot. Only a minor drawback is that we have to drive across town. But you do get to check out the cool homes in the area.
