The Quincy Place Mall--what can I say? In its heyday, it used to have as its anchors, Herberger's, JC Penney, and Wal-Mart. And it had a really cool video gaming area called 'Tilt'.

Well, all that has changed. I go there once in a while, and I see enough vacant areas (and mom-n-pop stores) to wonder if this mall will survive. It doesn't help that Goody's (which came in to replace Wal-mart as its anchor) has recently gone out of business for good, and we have the Dollar Tree to rely on for one of this mall's three anchors. The lone restaurant, Diamond Dave's, has moved out of the mall earlier this year, and I wonder what will take its place.

I've managed to buy some clothes at Maurice's, JC Penney, and a little bit at the Vanity. The clothes are okay quality, and the prices are about average for a mall. The salespeople at these places are pretty decent, and the best deals come every six months or so when I'm out of money to buy something at the mall, which is pretty pointless for me.

All in all, I wouldn't recommend this place as an every-day destination shopping experience (I'm surprised it's the 'dominant' mall in this region, truth be told), but if you want a good deal on last season's clothes and other things that are perennial money-wasters, I implore you to stop by. Oh, and this place is also great for mall-walkers who like to power-walk.

Quincy Place Mall is the poorest excuse for a mall that I have ever seen. There are not many stores to shop at and there is only 1 restaraunt! A lot of the better stores that used to be in the mall have recently moved out such as Wal-Mart, Fashion Bug and Payless. About the only thing left in this mall is expensive shoe and clothing stores.
