My husband and I love going up to savage mill. We grab a beer at Rams Head and then wonder around and look at all the antiques and unique stores. We love this store where they have these tables that have been carved and colored. I guess you would consider it art, but we think that someday it might make a great dining room table. The atmosphere at Savage is quaint and dainty...a little expensive for our tastes, but it's fun to look.

Savage Mill is nestled in the woods of Savage, MD, where not even all the locals are aware of it. However, once you have visited, you don't forget it. The stores in Savage Mill range from collectibles and unique furniture to antiques and grandfather clocks. It is a very nice building on the inside, and even though there are not that many shops, it is nice just to stroll around and enjoy the atmosphere. It's a little expensive for my everyday taste, but I have gotten some wonderful gifts for and from people from many of the stores. They also have a restaurant, a cafe-type area, and at least two ballrooms where wedding receptions and large parties are held. Overall, this is a very classy place to visit.
