First off, parents that spend $1000 on a guitar for there kid is ridiculous. You shouldn't spend that kind of money on a novice kid because they may eventually lose intrest. I shop at good n loud and like it more than any Madison music shop period. The owners are very nice! Also guitars need great care if you treat them bad they will crack/have problems. Start your kids small and gradually get better equipment. Do your homework buying a guitar or any instrument. It should never be rushed. Also Chris is very nice but when you buy a guitar talk to sweet Nicky J. Oh yeah and don't be mad at the owners because your kid treated his guitar like a toy. You are dumb for throwing money at your kids like that... It turns them into worthless turds that have no work ethic because you give them whatever they want.

If you read these reviews they don't make GNL sound very good. But I had great luck working with Brent, the drum guy at Good n Loud. He made great suggestions and wouldn't let me leave until he knew I was satisfied. If you have any doubts about your purchase, especially drums, see Brent at the west side store.

My Son took guitar and drum lessons a Good n Loud for four years. These teachers were great, to bad the owner, Chris, doesn't take a "lesson" from them on how to treat their customers. I purchased a guitar for my son at Christmas 2007. Took their advice on what to buy. They assured me they stand behind their merchandise. That's the beauty of doing business with a family owned store, so they said. My $1000.00 guitar split down the front within 6 weeks. They sent out for repair, took 3 months, and then presented me with a bill for $50.00 for the repair before they would give the guitar back. I paid, what choice did I have? Split again, same place in addition to 3 more splits. Would not refund repair $$ already paid, just wanted to repair again. Did not want more repairs, just replace guitar. Would not do that. They claimed that they did not have to stand behind Garrisons bad manufacturing. So repaired again. Total disaster!!! Guitar has split in 6 places and the neck has warped so the strings actually touch the front of it. They will no longer do anything besides be rude when you enter the store. In the first year of ownership my son had his guitar 8 weeks. I am going to file small claims out of principle. Long and short of it, don't do business there, you will be frustrated and sorry.

The woman Chris that runs this place is a complete fool and talks to you like you don't know anything about the instruments you play and shop for. She tried to tell me the new Rogers they're selling is like the old. Nothing could be further from the truth. Yamaha bought the name Rogers and is now making some crappy cheap Rogers copy sets. The Rogers that we all grew up to know were all made in the USA either in Fullerton, CA or Cleveland, OH...not in the far east. There's nothing they have in common except the Rogers script logo and that they're drums, but what Good n Loud passes off as quality Rogers drums are barely drums at all. I once saw a Pork pie black on brass snare there for $100 more than what their competition was selling for just down the road. Then I hear her on a local political talk show talking about how we should service the community by buying locally. Why doesn't she do a service to the community by not ripping off her hardworking neighbors?

The review I just read about the person with troubles reguarding his amp, prompted me to right a review. I also feel that this place lacks complete customer service.I won't step foot inside Good and Loud music the rest of my life. The owner Chris is a complete stuck up idiot. No people skills and is driving loyal customers away daily. You even try to ask her something and she'll just blow you off or tell you to ask someone else. Just go to Ward Bradt, at least they'll treat you with respect

My teen-aged daughter just got done taking guitar lessons and she loved it! The teacher she had was caring, made it interesting and was very accommodating. It was a great confidence builder as well as gave her something to look forward to and embrace. I would definitely recommend.

I bought a used Amp at Good N Loud months ago. They wanted to fix the power source before it leaving the store. Then they found out the part needed to be ordered. Good N Loud then claims the person fixing it blew another piece, now the piece is on back order. We get different stories each time we talk to them. 3 weeks ago, I spoke to the owner (Chris) and she promised me she would get to the bottom of it, claiming she didn't know about it. I called today for status. Now they want to refund the money. I told her she has made us wait months and now she wants give the money back. I had to ask if she could instead of fixing it, give me something of like and she said no. Sounds to me they just decided not to sell it after they sold it and trying to get out of it. Maybe the fix was more then they want to pay so decided not to sell it. The owner was rude with no customer service skills. Sounds to me as they realized they can sell it for more and realize if they fix it they aren't making money. I told her I would complain and she said tv's only take businesses with lots of complains seriously and I told her it has to start somewhere, then she hung up on me.

Yeah, maybe you'll get a deal on some guitars, but the idiot running the repair shop doesn't know what he's doing. He wrecked two of my guitars. I'm so livid, I can hardly put it into words. If you ever want any repairs or modifications done, go to Lane's Lutherie.

This place is perfect for guitar players. They offer a huge selection of guitars old and new, and you can test them out and see which ones fit your style best. They always have new deals on top of their already low prices.
