3 Stars: Unique Thrift Store is just average (by K M.)

I went there the first time today. The prices are around 25% higher than the Salvation Army in Saint Paul that I'm used to going to and the selection, although larger, was not as good in quality. Pricing was inconsistent. Some stuff was priced higher than new at a retailer when on sale. It was overcrowded. The wait for the fitting room was around 8 minutes on a late Thursday morning. The one advantage though, you can try on clothes here before buying. Certain items are sold as is so if it does not work out you are out your money. I was told that "as is" items have problems so beware. The one place that I know for certain that allows returns up to 7 days is the Good Will but their prices are the highest of all thrift stores. English fluency by the staff is fairly good. The store claims to comply with legal hiring practices of foreign workers. The management and employees I encountered were polite, courteous and professional. I would shop there again from time to time due to the convenience.

3 Stars: Rock on Joan J! (by Anne B.)

I went to Unique Thrift Store for a white hood and all I got is this stupid T-shirt.

Anyway, I've been to this store several times. The prices are high. The quality of items varies widely. A lot of junk, but sometimes you can get good stuff. They have frequent sales when you can sometimes get a good deal. I think every Tuesday is a discount day and some Mondays are 1/2 off. If you call, they'll tell you.

5 Stars: to JOAN J.... (by Ivy E.)

Maybe racist people such are yourself should stick to shopping at Ridgedale mall, since diversity obviously scares you. Who are you to decide that every Latino person you see is an "illegal'? I happen to be very familiar with the jobs you can get as an undocumented worker, and trust me, working at Savers is not one of them. And unless you are Native American, Joan, I suspect that your people also immigrated here, just before the term "illegal immigrant" was coined. So get OVER yourself! Why don't you did a google search for businesses that are Ku-Klux-Clan owned--maybe you'd be more comfortable shopping that those stores.

1 Stars: Prices are impossible (by Cheryl A.)

I have been to a Unique Thrift store in Colorado. The prices here in Minneapolis, are just down right ridiculous!!!

I keep thinking that each time I go back to the one on Winnetka, the prices will go down. NOPE. Shoes are like 995-1995, that is CRAZY. I will not go shopping there again!!!

It's too high priced for donated items. This store gets these things free, and charge customers Macy prices. No returns or nothing, but you want to charge customers high prices. That's Nuts

5 Stars: Credit Card Violation (by J B.)

The Unique Thrift Store in Columbia Heights has a unique way of doing business. If your credit card fails to function on two readings they type in the numbers in the cash registrar. Ok so far. However, no one trained the cashier to hit the privacy button and the numbers came up on the purchasers price screen for the public to read! I complained to the manager but she could not understand why that would concern me! She walked away without addressing my concerns. I felt belittled. Obviously the staff needs training. Don't use your credit card! You may be in for a public announcement of your numbers...who knows maybe date of birth and mother's maiden name may flash on the screen or be announced over the public announcement system. Where do they find these people?

we all have come from other countries

5 Stars: DO NOT SHOP HERE - TOO MANY ILLEGALS (by Joan J.)

This store clearly hires illegal immigrants and should not be supported. The last time I checked this was the United States and people working here should have the right to do so legally.

On a tight budget or just looking, Unique Thrift has a good selection of just about everything.
4 Stars: Good deals, but you have to look. (by Alida A.)

We go to this thrift store all the time.

Do you have to buy black pants for a school concert? This is the place to go. My kids grow out of clothes so fast, I don't want to spend $30 for a new pair of dress pants that will be worn maybe once or twice. Here, I got a pair for $4.95, and I'll donate them back again in 6 months so another kid can buy them for their concert.

5 Stars: one of the best ! (by Deepa S.)

This store is very large and has a very big variety. For a thrift store they are pretty organized. And their prices are pretty good. A lot of the thrift stores have gotten very expensive for what they carry. I am use to shopping at Target sales for 75% off, so when the thrift stores want to charge me more for used thing it is very hard for me to pay.
4 Stars: Tons of great bargains if you dig! (by Kelly J.)

Unique Thrift Store is a great place to find bargains. They constantly restock their merchandise so there's always plenty to see. I like the fact that everything is categorized pretty well, and the employees are always around keeping it neat. A great thing that just happened is that they redid the lighting so it's MUCH brighter - you can see any flaws/stains on the merchandise BEFORE you buy. One annoying thing is that their prices are all over the place on similar items - one pricer might price to sell while another might price to make money. Overall, it's a great place to kill time and find a bargain.

PROS: New lighting, variety, tidy
CONS: Many employees don't speak enough English to communicate well

4 Stars: in love with the 80s (by Kevin H.)

While there are many thrift stores out there, only few are worthy of the title "unique." While Unique is still grasping for that title, there is a large variety of clothing.

PROS: variety, misc home furnishings
CONS: price, smell

4 Stars: Huge Thrift Store (by Alicia L.)

This thrift store is great because it's huge (i.e. you could spend all day here) and they constantly bring in new arrivals. Your competition is tough here, but you're sure to find something you love for a totally affordable price. I like the large selection of lamps and household items - they seem to be pretty fairly priced and in good condition at this thrift store.

3 Stars: Lots of Thirft (by Stephanie S.)

If you are looking for second hand items, here is one store to hit! There is a huge selection from knick-knacks to clothing to furniture. Also, this is a great store for low-cost halloween costumes. Beware though, if a tag falls off, they will not sell you the item.
