It is said that if someone likes a restaurant they will tell five friends, but if they dislike a restaurant, they will tell ten others. With that said
I am an avid fan of Thai food, so when I found out that "Thai Original BBQ" was coming to Valencia, I was quite excited. "Thai Original BBQ" is a chain and they serve good Sate (beef skewers). When they finally opened up, I went there and was quite disappointed. First of all, their fried rice is not up to par. It is bland compared to the other restaurants in the chain. They also give you less food, there were only 4 skewers of meat in my order instead of the usual six (and they were smaller pieces too). Their hot and sour shrimp soup was also sub-par. The prices were also inflated! This was the first time I ate there. I then decided to give them another chance. Big mistake! I ordered noodles with beef and some Thai Iced teas, to go. When I got home and opened the order, they had failed to add any beef to my noodles. In addition, the two Thai Iced Teas that I ordered came out to $6 (the menu said they were $1.50 each). When I called to complain, they told me that regarding their iced tea, they had changed the price to $3.00 each, but their new menus had not come in. Talk about bait and switch! They told me to come in and they would fix my order, to which I told them that I was already home and did not want to get back in the car and waste another 45 minutes in my day. At this point, I asked that they credit my card back for $10 ($3 for the rip-off-bait-and-switch iced teas and $7 for the beef-less noodles) at which time they refused! I threatened to dispute my credit card charge (which I did) and they still would not budge. It is unbelievable to me that in an industry where there is so much competition that a restaurant that is clearly in the wrong would not do such a simple thing to make the customer happy.
PROS: None
CONS: Mediocre food, bad service
