Catering to farmers and livestock owners with a wide selection, this store also carries some items of use to domestic pet owners, gardeners and other folks. Staff members are used to knowledgeable regulars, so part time farmers and irregulars need to have information before entering. The staff will not approach you if you appear lost, or give you much help in answers to your questions.
Our first visit, we came to get an item recommended by our vet; the staff members on duty did not greet us when we entered the store, or make any eye contact or acknowledgement, although there were no other customers in the store. A direct question about where to find the item was given a its in that aisle somewhere response (with the staff member pointing and not moving), and on our way out the cashier made a sarcastic remark about whether we were sure we were shopping in the right store. Perhaps we were being mistaken for tourists, although I'd been living in town for 3 years at that point. Everyone deserves a fair shake and decent services, including non-regulars. Boo. However, the next time we visited we got no lip and the staff was friendly; perhaps we just caught someone on a bad day. Apparently the owner participates heavily in 4H and FFA type volunteer work, which would make us willing to return.
