I am from Ohio, and really LOVE Waldemeer Park!! The employees are TERRIFIC, the food is great & reasonably priced, the grounds are immaculalte, and the rides are awesome!! I would recommend the park to anyone who misses our Geuaga Lake Park here in OH. The Ravine Flyer II is a DYNAMITE ride, as are the others as well. I am so impressed with the friendliness of the staff who will go out of their way to make sure you are having a great day. I love this park and hope is is here for a long time!! KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB!!

Waldameer Park is another great place to take the kids. The water park is amazing. One slide is completely dark when you ride in it, and at the end, you go into a large pool, which is really fun. Unfortunately, the water park closes at 6:00 p.m., so after that time, you have to go to the rest of the park. The rest of the park isn't as impressive because the biggest ride is the Ravine Flyer, which doesn't do any flips or rolls.

This park is mainly catered to younger children. Most of the rides are outdated and simple, but families with kids will love the small closeness of the park and the short walking distances and waiting lines it offers.

The park is always clean, but weather changes quickly here and they offer no rain-checks whatsoever. If you plan on going make sure to follow the weather as best you can because Lake Erie has no such thing as a weather pattern and the park is prone to sporadic rain showers and thunderstorms on the even seemingly sunniest of days.

They do have four fairly exciting rides that adults and teens can enjoy - the log flume ride Thunder River, a spinning coaster at the back of the park that is short but riveting, a drop-style ride, and their new Ravine Flyer coaster that extends over the lake. But none of them really compare to anything you would experience at a bigger more industrialized park.

If you have kids and want to make an amusement park trip as easy and simple as possible, then Waldameer is a great choice. Their water park has an excellent 'kiddie section' for children and only about 4 other water slides and a hot tub. My favorite thing about the whole water park is the Lazy River which is altogether always much too cold and short.

Personally, not having children, I would not waste my money on a park entrance fee and mostly spend my time and money in the arcade and food stands because you DO NOT HAVE TO BUY TICKETS TO WALK AROUND THE PARK.

Overall it's a cute, simple park that reaches for more than what is really is but if you can look past the outdated cheapness, it can be a pretty fun day.

Waldemeer has a kiddy land but also has added some rides that are for adults and older kids, mainly the Ravine Flyer. I had the pleasure of going on the flyer this summer. You climb way above the trees and all you see ahead of you is the lake, right before you plunge down the 120 foot first hill. The coaster crosses over the highway, not that you know! You are going so fast you don't even know. The park is clean and pretty. It has something to interest almost everyone. You can walk the entire park and find a child without panic. There is no charge to enter the park, just to ride. It also has a great outdoor water park there and fireworks on the summer holidays! If you have not gone, make sure you go next summer.

I'm not crazy about amusement parks that seem to go on forever. It usually just leaves me feeling stressed out. Waldameer Park is a great size park. You can get through it in one day, and have a good time. The admission price is about average I would say. The rides are fun, and they also have a water park connected to it. For an additional fee you can do that also. It's a great way to cool off on a hot sunny day. Waldameer is a fun place for the whole family.

I used to love going to Waldameer as a child/teenager. They have lots of rides, games, junky amusement park foods and fun. I just went to Waldameer a few months ago and it's still the same. They have a lot of new rides and games, but it hasn't changed that much. They have a new roller coaster which, unfortunately, I didn't get to ride. They also have slower paced rides for the geriatric set. I highly recommend Thunder River, if you are the adventurous type! Please Waldameer officials, do something different with the Pirate's Cove! Put some new monsters in or something.
As for value, you'll pay almost $20 for a Ride A Rama, which is a wrist band that they give you that lets you ride all day on any ride as many times as you'd like. You can also buy ride tickets but the Rama is the best bet if you expect to ride on more than a few rides.

Nice time for a hot summer day.
