Best Pizza Around

by Tatiana R. | insider Insider | Rank: 24,164

I know it's small and crowded, but there's a reason ppl line up outside the store!! A-mazing!! There is no better place in the world. If you're in town, stop by.

A slice of Amherst culture

by tracy g.

The pizza at Antonio's is decent and they'll have varieties you won't find anywhere else. I like the tomato basil mozzarella slice; other family members like the baked potato pizza and the barbeque chicken pizza.

Amherst is a relatively quiet small town, and Antonio's sits right in the heart of it, so the pizza joint ends up being the cheap late-night hang for high school and college kids who don't want to go home just yet :). The tiny place is always packed and at night, the students spill out onto the sidewalk and into the street. The staff tends to bark at patrons but I guess that's to keep the line moving.

Is this the best pizza in the valley? I wouldn't say so. I like Country Pie in Ashfield myself. But it's good and hot and is worth a visit because it's such a slice (heh) of Amherst culture.

From a former UMASS-er

by L H.

Whoever described it using the words "happy mosh pit" had it right. Part of the draw is the challenge of getting your relatively cheap, yet outrageously delicious, slice o' heaven without losing a limb - it's practically a rite of passage before you graduate... In regards to the mood/wit of the staff - it ain't easy feeding that many hungry (often, ahem, "happy") students and townsfolk alike and still keep the throngs moving along. I cannot recall a time where I ever felt slighted by something a staff member may have said in my general direction... if I did, I needed to get over it FAST. Antonio's is an institution - long may it reign!

great pizza, cool place

by Anonymous

The pizza is delicious, crispy.
The staff is cool and fun, friendly to the costumer. The music is happy and with Latin flavor.
Service id quick, and it feels you joined a party when you are at the store.
When there was a mistake in my bill, the returned my money plus a extra cash!

The best pizza in town

by Jennifer B. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 616

Antonio's Pizza is definitely the place to go for great pizza. They sell mainly pizza by the slice and the variety of toppings is wonderful. It is always packed but they move people through very quickly. It's well worth any wait you might encounter.

fight the crowds

by David B. | insider Insider | Rank: 19,868

A tiny place hilariously inadequate to accommodate the masses of who flock there. The cheek-by-jowl, haunch-to-haunch proximity necessary to endure to have any hope of placing an order may not appeal to everyone -- and it's probably best to park octogenarians on a park bench outside (you could crack a hip!) -- but it's a friendly near-mosh pit and the pizza in its infinite variety is well worth the struggle

Best Pizza EVER

by ziola r. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 7,808

Antonio's has the best selection of exciting pizza in the area. You can get your fill of pizza, and not have to eat 3 or 4 of the same kind! Mix it up with different types of pizza, such as spicy chicken and blue cheese or a steak and mushroom slice. DELICIOUS!! I've been eating Antonio's since 1988!

Terrific Pizza

by Anonymous

This is the place I go if there is a wait for dinner. The pizza is delicious. We had an hour delay for dinner and decided to stop here to fill our empty stomach. I have been going to Antonio's Pizza for a very long time.

RUDE

by cynthia a. | insider Insider | Rank: 25,082

I feel that Antonio's staff is rude and condescending. It is an unsupervised free for all!!!! The pizza may be good but I will never return due to the attitude of the staff. I feel they are in dire need of babysitting.

Best Pizza in MA

by Ca Vay I. | insider Insider | Rank: 22,654

I'm from Boston, and Antonio's in Amherst is the best pizza I've had, hands down. Fresh, hot and with every variety you want. Prices are definitely good, considering this is a hot spot for students from 5 different colleges. Service is speedy and friendly. Good service, great prices and even better pizza! If you think you've had the "best" pizza, try Antonio's. How can 22,000 UMass students (and 4 other colleges' students) be wrong?
