I took my daughter and a friend to Fridays on 12/17/2011 for dinner. We had passed several restaurans but decided on Fridays since we had a coupon for $5.00 off the bill. When we arrived to our table, the waitress was already asking us what did we want to drink. We had not even sat down yet, or took our coats off. I just ordered water since she seem to be rushing us. We were also joined by a girlfriend and her daughter. Before ordering our meals, we specifically asked the waitress could we use the coupons since we were paying separate bills and she says yes, but indicated that my daughter's meal would not allow us to use the coupon because it was a special order that included an appetizer, entree and dessert, so my daughter ordered something else. As the dinner proceeded, my friend asked for extra sour cream for her nachos. The waitress quickly said "that will be 50 cent extra", my friend ask for a little extra jack daniels sauce for her chicken and she said again, "that will be 50 cents". Any request that we had for something extra was 50 cent. This happen 5 times. I felt we were being charge extra for items that we were originally not given enough of. At one point we asked for something and she said that the other guy had already brought it to us. Which we quickly stated that no one had come to our table with anything additional. Once we aked for the check, I put my credit card and coupon into the folder; my friend put her coupon and credit card into her folder. A few mintues later the waitress came back and told us both that we could only use 1 coupon even though we had 2 separate bills and the cost was over $100 dollars. I became agitated and asked for the manager. He approached our table stating the same policy as the waitress without even asking us what happen. The service was poor and we felt that when your bill is over $100 for five people a discount of 2 $5.00 coupons is not much to request since they were expiring the day after Xmas. Happy holidays TGI Friday, we definitely won't be returning to this restaurant anytime soon. P.S. we left the waitress a tip of 50 cents since that is the only thing she could remember to tell us.

A reviewer said he was, "Weary of chain restaurants." It is Friday's, it is not a 5 star restaurant, get over yourself. Good food, GREAT bartenders. Tip: on the weekends there is a wait for a table, you can get a seat at the bar and order from the full menu.

I am wary of chain restaurants and this place proved me correct. Outside of the onslaught of gear hanging all over the place, the burgers were dinky and had the flavor of a shoe. My wife's selection was slathered in a sauce that may as well have been water. Not good. i'll never go back.

I dropped by this new location on a whim. Having seen advertisements on TV thought I would give it a try. It was great. Our service was pleasant and attentive. The food was excellent - we had the Jack Daniels steak and chicken quesedillas. Both were excellent, the steak was very tender & favorful. Prices are reasonable. Smoking dining area was a little windy!

                        Message from TGI Fridays

In Manhattan in 1965, there was no place where people could go out to meet friends and make new ones in an environment that was at once both relaxed and yet exciting. Then, Alan Stillman opened Fridays as a way, he said, “to meet Pan Am stewardesses.” Suddenly, there was a place with great food, new and exciting drinks and an electric energy. A place where bartenders mixed the environment just as well as they mixed drinks. In short, a place like nowhere else. Today, Fridays in Schererville, IN is still America’s most iconic bar and grill. We embrace and celebrate our heritage as a bar. One that just happens to serve killer food in an environment where it’s always Friday.
