I wouldn't give them one star if there was another option. My regular OBGYN started with this group three years ago and I went along. Big mistake! The staff is rude and not very helpful. The doctor I've always went to finally left and so did I. Please don't waste your time, money or insurance!

They are very medically minded and often see complications where there are none. I was told my baby was too big so I would probably need a c-section (she was less than 7lbs), my blood pressure was too high, so they needed to induce immediately despite my only being 35 weeks (it was on the higher end of normal for ONE reading when they told me that), my fluid was low (it was in the normal range, but on the lower end and no suggestions were ever made to how I could naturally increase fluid levels by soaking in a pool or bath or simply increasing my fluid intake). They do not allow doulas and frown upon birth plans. I can say that they are skilled surgeons. I'm sure that comes from LOTS of experience.

The doctors are fine, but the staff is awful, especially when you must change your appointment. As a college student, I just couldn't schedule an appointment six months in advance because I had no idea what my class schedule would be. They charge outrageous amounts for missed/rescheduled appointments and they even took me to collections despite several attempts to work out the problem. The staff is rude and difficult to work with. Not worth your time, especially for college students.

This is the worst experience I've had in a doctor's office. I always used to go here for my annual checkup - the wait was long and it wasn't so friendly but I didn't care. When I got pregnant and went to this office it was too much. The staff is rude (especially on the phone) and the doctor was really unhelpful. I was clear with her that this was my first pregnancy and I knew nothing; she didn't explain anything and she laughed at me when I asked some questions. I was so confused about the prenatal testing and she couldn't give me a straight answer. She was very condescending and not informative at all. In general I felt confused and lost in the shuffle at this office. After a few days thought I switched to another practice, on Hawthorne, and they showed me how great an OBGYN can be! One more thing about Women's Center: when my new doctor requested my records from them they called me and wanted to charge me $10.00 for faxing my medical records to my new doctor. My new doctor said this is very unorthodox and perhaps even illegal. They found a way to work around this, but the staff was so rude about demanding the extra $10.00 that I just had to come on here and share my terrible experience with this office. AVOID THEM! They are cold, unhelpful and they will make you feel stupid and confused when you should feel confident and happy.

I can not tell you how disappointed and heartbroken at the lack of concern and treatment from my doctor at this clinic. I recieved a letter in the mail from them stating how concerned they were about a past abnormal pap, which I followed up with a biopsy that they declared normal. I even recieved a letter stating they would dismiss me as a patient if I did not come in. I made my appointment and had my list of questions and concerns ready. After arriving 10 minutes early to my appointment and waiting in the room half naked for over 45 mins... my doctor spent maybe 7 or 8 minutes with me. I tried discussing my concerns and he dismissed them basically as he walked out the door. I left the Womens Center of Athens in tears and out $40 bucks. I will never go back. This is not my first time feeling like this after leaving the clinic. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage and when I went in to have it confirmed to me the doctor who handeled it was very rude. I understand people cannot always be sensitive to your situaions, but to stand there and LAUGH and JOKE with a fellow nurse about a "transvaginal cotton cover" while I am laying on the medical table with blood clots straming out of my vagina and tears in my eyes is just wrong To put the icing on the cake they follow up on my miscarriage by sending a letter to my home saying "Congratulations for the upcomming birth of your child" detailing how much the labor and delivery will cost me with my insurance.

My sister is pregnant with her second child. Both pregnancies my sister was cared for by this clinic. Every time I came along to a doctor's appointment, I always walked out very upset. They need help in almost ever area. Pregnancy is a wonderful thing and its a shame my sister had to go through all of this. Its a beautiful facility inside and out but that's the nicest thing I can say about Women's Center of Athens! Very sad!

The receptionist at the front desk is impatient, irresponsible and has bad manners. She interupted my call rudely.

This women's center is amazing. The place takes the awkwardness out of an OBGYN visit. The staff is friendly and informative, and they constantly keep your comfort in mind. The clinic is even constructed in a way that reflects comfort and minimum embarrassment. For example, the rooms each have a neat changing stall so you don't have to get undressed in the middle of the room. Also, they collect urine samples through a two way cupboard that connects the lab to a very pleasant bathroom. This place was great, definitely the best women's clinic I've ever been to.

I have been with Women's Center of Athens since I found out I was pregnant. This is my 4th pregnancy, in the 3rd state, so I have lots of OBs to compare this office with. I have met with all of the doctors for several visits now, and all of them have been very nice. What I really like is that I don't feel rushed. They take their time, answer questions, and talk about any issues. I have had plenty of the doctors in the past that seem like they are in such a rush that I end up forgetting any question I had. That has never happened here. The only reason I would not give them all 5 stars is due to their nursing staff. They are not very friendly......they are nice when you are nice to them, but are not very open and friendly at the start. I do feel like the quality care is top notch. I trust the doctors and that is really what will keep me there.

The staff is so rude and coldhearted. They lied to me telling me my pregnancy was normal, but then went ahead and perscribed me high risk prenatal vitamins. I lost my baby weeks after taking the pills. They were very coldhearted about the whole thing. They also told me that since I lost my baby I would not have to pay a co-pay for my visit that day. A week later they sent me to collections for my copay! STAY AWAY

My mother began seeing Dr. Thompson 5 years ago when she had her tubes tied, and I began seeing him when I started college. All of the nurses are very understanding and willing to answer all your questions, even when not there for an appointment. My mom usually sees Natalie a NP, and is very satisfied with her. Being a nurse herself, it takes a lot for my mom to be impressed with a physician or a Doctors office, but we are both very happy with the staff at W.C.A.

Yes, the building and facilities are very nice, and some of the doctors have a nice/friendly beside manner; that is not the main concern with medicine. I had a SEVERE complication post-c-section and was repeatedly discarded as having mastitis or a possible small infection by the NURSE PRACTITIONER who was obviously too self-absorbed to realize she was not a physician, over her head, and had NO IDEA what was going. Luckily, after a second trip to the office and a huge scene to actually get to see a physician, I was rushed to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery for a very severe uterine infection. Yes, facilities and bedside manner are important, however the quality of medical care is what it boils down to, and knowing your place as a NURSE and not a physician. I would give a higher rating if it was possible to be a patient and not see the Nurse Practitioner, however since she is still on rotation, I feel it is a risk I nor anyone else should take.

I??ve been a patient with this team for about 5 years. The office is state of the art, and the atmosphere is very calming. The entire staff is cheerful and knowledgable. When I am seen by the nurse practitioner I feel as though I receive the quality and care of an MD.

Women??s Center of Athens has also been especially helpful, accommodating and flexible by working with my out-of-town fertility specialist, RBA. There have been multiple tests and procedures I??ve been able to take care of locally saving time and money rather than traveling into downtown Atlanta.

My primary care physician, Dr. Baker, recommended this team of OBGYNs to me. That was 5-6 yrs ago and I love them all. I just recently saw Dr. Thompson for the first time and he is probably my new favorite. Their facilities are very nice and above the rest. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I was fairly hestitant to go to any new doctor in this area of medicine, but on a tip from a friend I checked out this facility.

I did not meet with a doctor, but with a Physicans Assistant (I believe). She was extremely kind, friendly and competent - I will definitely be seeing her again. I believe, also, she is less expensive (even for insurance) to see.

Their waiting room is very nice and filled with comfortable chairs, many magazines and a television.

The clinic rooms are a little nicer than the usual room with small changing rooms (like at a clothing store) for you to change in and store your clothes in.

Highly recommended.
