This place is obviously more of a tourist attraction than a stable, but it is great for those who are interested in horses but aren't ready to commit to regular riding, and is also a great vacation spot! There is a lot of entertainment with some really high level competitions! Nice parking space too!

Any visit to the Lexington, Kentucky, area would not be complete without a visit to the magnificent Kentucky Horse Park. It is a fun and educational experience for the entire family. I live four hours away, and after one visit I was hooked. I now visit the park about four times per year. Seeing the different beautiful breeds of horses, getting a chance for horseback rides, the great museum exhibits. And, it has a spectacular gift shop. Admission fees are reasonable, but prices are a little expensive at the snack booth. It is a great place to spend the day.

I seem to only go out to the horse park when I have family come to visit. I really should go out more often. There is a lot to do. From the tours to all the horses. The horse park is a beautiful well maintained facility.

A neat place to spend the day with relatives from out of town, they always enjoy it and it taks an entire day. There are usually several things going on at the park during the spring and summer months so be sure to check for any extra events happening. During Christmas be sure to go at night to see all the lights they've put up , it beats driving aimlessly around neighborhoods, its safer too. My family always enjoys a day spent here even if we don't go into the museum.

We spent a day there in July 2004. Boy was it ever hot! It's such a gorgeous park. My daughter loves horses so she was in her glory there. Like another person said it is a bit on the pricey side. It was 14 for adults but kids 6 and under are FREE! Also you can get a $1 off if you use your Kroger plus card (at least you could at that time) November through March though it's only $9. They have horse back rides you can purchase tickets to at the front desk as well. That was a huge hit with my daugher.

One suggestion is that if you are planning on being there during a meal time be prepared their restaurant inside the park is EXPENSIVE. Next time we go we plan on bringing a cooler with us.

They have an incredible Parade of Breeds show that changes throughout the day that's amazing. A MUST SEE if you go there.

We hope to visit there again next spring and summer. The spring months are typical 'foaling' months and a great time to get a chance to see baby horses!
