I joined Liberty Bay Credit Union many years ago (1960's) when it operated under it's former name "Telephone Workers Credit Union." In more recent years membership has been expanded to include just about anyone who lives in the area. The requirement to be associated with the communications industry no longer exists. My entire family (three generations) have become members along with many other people whom we have recommended to the CU. The "down home" friendly manner in which the credit union staff operates belies the high grade of professionalism that they represent. I have used many of their services over the years and have never had the slighted problem. The percentage of interest earned on savings is lower than the same instruments offered by local banks and the interest charges on loans is generally less as well so you get benefit from both investing and in borrowing as well. I have satisfactorily maintained IRA accounts, Checking, Saving and Money Market accounts, Auto and Home loans and also rent a safe deposit box in the Stoneham branch. The only thing this bank lacks is a drive-through window but with plenty of free parking available and the family like treatment you recieve from the employees it's worth walking in to say hello and conduct banking. Based on my many years of experience I give Liberty Bay Credit Union my highest recommendations.

I love this credit union. You have to work for a telecommunications company in order to have an account with them. They are so easy to work with. As soon as I opened an account they gave a loan to clear up some debt I had with a credit counseling agency. With the loan I ended up paying $50 less a month and paid it off in less time. I also refinanced my car with them because they have such a low interest rate for used auto loan. Again I saved money. They gave me the loan right then and there. My credit is okay (not bad) but I know people who's credit is worse and they gave them loans no question. The people are nice to and get to know you.

PROS: Easy to do business with
CONS:
