When you step in here, you step into a gigantic world that will take much longer than one visit to explore, absorb, and appreciate everything. It has artifacts from different genres, from science and medicine to technology and entertainment. You'll want to spend more time in certain sections than others depending on your interests, so if you can only stay for a day, plan ahead to maximize your visit. The museum is free, but warning: the cafeteria is overpriced, especially considering the quality of food.

I come from a city known for good museums (Chicago), and I was quite impressed with this one. There was so much to see, and even a second visit was as enjoyable as the first. The nice thing about DC museums is the free admission, and the exhibits are very well-maintained and displayed. The gift shops also did not seem overpriced and were filled with quality merchandise. This is a museum children will enjoy as well.

This is a great bargain for when you are staying in DC. The emission is completely free. They exhibits are so well done they you should expect to take more than one day to see it all. The first wives exhibit is unbelievable to go see. You should however plan to eat somewhere else. The cafeteria was very expensive and the food could be described as mediocre at best. But this is a must see when you go to visit DC.

Wow. That is the first word that came to mind the moment I stepped into this museum. It is huge and filled with so much stuff. You can't possibly finish it in a few hours. I know I didn't and would have to make a second trip. The museum is loaded with tons of exhibits and artifacts ranging from fashion to science and technology. I had alot of fun!

This museum is loaded with over three million artifacts and objects from American history, from television history, to scientific and medical progress (birth control pills, DNA testing), to fashion trends & social role changes - this museum has something that'll interest everyone. It traces social movements (such as slavery) and each artifact has a card nearby to explain its origin and significance. A VERY interesting museum, and one you'll need to visit multiple times to see everything.

PROS: Free admission!
CONS:
