LOVE their workout facility. LOVE their nursery. LOVE their track. LOVE their Summit Cancer program and the facilitator for it. LOVE the people I've worked with in the fitness programs. The people I've worked with in any kid's classes have been great. BUT I have had the exact same problem with swim classes as above, and I think it also has to do with the fact that there are never the same teachers even if it's the same time and the same day - they have no idea how far he's come since the first day he came. But he also just wants to go play. Also, it is true, that it is very hard to find a time when you can just come play with the kids when the pool is not being used for lessons.

Have put my four year old daughter in beginning swim classes three times now and she has not passed. I really do think it has everything to do with the fact that the pool is too crowded and there are just too many distractions for a little one to pay attention. The instructors are great, the place is clean and very safe, but just getting into the classes is a challenge because they are always full, then getting my child to pass has been impossible. Four of my friends have had the same experiences and have gone elsewhere. Sorry to say, but be aware of this.

Trails Rec Center is a brand new facility, with top of the line equipment in the cardio/weight room, an indoor track, indoor climbing wall, lap pool, kids pool, nice gym facilities with raquetball courts off to the side AND a really clean and child friendly nursery for the kids to play while you have some fun. They also have an outdoor skateboarding park. They offer a range of classes for the whole family. The swimming area, where we have been most often, is nice, though honestly could have been planned a bit better. They have 2 slides, water structures that dump water, a lazy river and a walk out area into the pool (where it slowly gets deeper and deeper). My issues with the pool are that they schedule swimming lessons all morning on Saturday and it takes up the whole pool. This is really the best time and day of the week for most families to go to the pool, so that's really disappointing. I think they do swimming lessons in the lap pool at the same time, so that's out too. They probably could have constructed the whole swimming area better because it quickly becomes over-crowded because it's not that big. All in all though, it's a good pool, with lots of fun things to do.
