The Kimmel Center is a wonderful place. It's a beautiful building, a sensation for the eyes. Of course it is a wonderful sensation for the ears as well as the orchestras that play here are top notch. Sometimes the tickets can be hard to get or a little on the expensive side, but it's definitely worth the money. The Kimmel Center is the place to go to hear the best classical music in the world.

If you are in Philadelphia, you just have to check out the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. This performing arts venue (It has an orchestra hall, a theater, and a studio, along with a gift shop and a restaurant.) certainly stands out from many others. As you stand in the elegant lobby, you are overwhelmed with awe. The massive glass roof that encloses the space is a sight to behold. Verizon Hall, home of the Philadelphia Orchestra, with its beautiful wood detail, and the Perelman Theater are also noteworthy. Tickets can get pricey here, depending on the event you want to attend. But, if you go around 5PM each day, I've heard that you can get cut-rate tickets for about $5 to most performances. Rest assured that all the companies performing here are professional, and are made up of some very talented individuals. Most presentations here are quite grand.
This is a decent place to take your kids. They have a theater company that does a lot of kid-friendly shows like The Little Mermaid, and your kids might even enjoy watching the Philadelphia Orchestra, depending on how much they love music. (Orchestra gets pricey though.)
However, I still think that Broadway is a tad nicer than this center. The Perelman Theater is not that grand, and it lacks the character you'd find in New York.
