This is a great place to see old films, retrospectives, small films that no one else is showing, and festivals. Its located on the Case Western Reserve University campus. Admission is reasonable, the atmosphere is great. You can become a member of the Cinematheque by calling or visiting their website, and youll receive a schedule of upcoming activities in the mail. This is one of the hippest cultural outlets in Cleveland!

Cinematheque, a theater housed on the campus the Cleveland Institute of Art, easily has the most interesting and most challenging film schedule of any local theater. Each bimonthly schedule features a number of themed film groups such as a look at Argentine or Iranian cinema, or perhaps a retrospective of one directors entire catalogue. The programs are intelligently selected by cinema staff who wear their love for high-quality independent film on their sleeve. Film introductions by Cinematheque personnel and free coffee giveaways before each screening keep things personal and fun.
