The River Rock Coffee has to be one of my most favorite coffee shops. Whenever I am in the area, I stop by for a good fresh cup of coffee and a cookie. Sometimes I splurge on a sandwich or soup. Every meal or treat that I have had here has been awesome. Very flavorful soups and delicious sandwiches. I even buy a couple of homemade dog biscuits for my daughters black lab. She expects them now at every visit. You can never go wrong by stopping by. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

A trip to River Rock is always a pleasure!

They have a good selection of specialty and seasonal beverages (chai, teas, apple cider, lemonade, Italian sodas, etc.) and their baked good are fantastic. They also serve soups and sandwiches so it's a great choice for lunch. They use organic coffees and local ingredients whenever possible, and they recycle, reduce waste, and attempt to be as kind to the earth as they can. The staff is always friendly and enthusiastic. River Rock has a cozy, funky feel with brightly painted walls and fantastic rotating art displays. Next time you're driving through St. Peter, stop in! You'll be glad you did.

P.S. They have a great little selection of used books in the back for purchase. The back room has a couch and more tables, making it a great spot to study or read.

With its urban feel in a small town, this organic coffee shop has local art, satisfying coffee, savory food and delicious baked goods. River Rock caught my attention while I was travelling to a college visit and was in desparate need of caffine at 6 am. What I found was an amazing selection of gormet coffees, italian sodas, organic teas and the best smelling muffins I have ever had the pleasure of sniffing. (And eating by the way) Their baked goods had just come out of the oven and were like a little piece of heaven.

Another visit here had me tasting their menu. Although its a little short, the menu items leave a lasting memory. Any of the paninis will satisfy a craving; they also have salads, quesadillas and more. There is a vegetarian option for almost every part of the menu, even the coffee!

My only dislike would be my 5-7 minute wait for my coffee- but this is alright, they freshly grind their beans for each cup for the best flavor.

River Rock is our favorite restaurant in town. It has somewhat of a big-city, gourmet coffee shop feel. The food is absolutely delicious... homemade soups, salads, and great sandwiches. The paninis are especially good. I do not drink coffee, but they have a large selection of gourmet varieties.

The atmosphere is a casual coffee shop, with mismatched chairs, local artwork on the walls, and a sitting area with a little fountain and comfortable chairs. The prices are a little high (sandwiches $6-7), but worth it. The service is sometimes a bit slow, but it varies. They sometimes feature live music.

This is a great lunch spot, and a must-visit for St. Peter!

PROS: Excellent food and atmosphere
CONS: Higher prices and slower service
