If your travels find you in Tacoma, this park is a must visit. Beautiful old grown timber, Japanese garden and a breath taking view of the Puget Sound make this a must visit. Bring your food and picnic.

PROS: Great trails, wonder drive through roads,
CONS: Don't hang out there past dark

Our family has met here many times for picnics and have enjoyed it. The zoo is close by and the picnic facilities are great. Being near the water is fun for both kids and adults.

This park has been an important part of Tacoma's history. It has been a popular place for many, many years. It has a beautiful entry, with the large pond and the swans. Then there are tennis courts and swings, and on to the picnic area. The old railroad cars will take you on a ride through the forrest. Owens Beach is a great place to put your toes in the sand, or just to sit and reflect. On up to old Fort Nisqually, to relive days gone by--a 'don't miss it' place!

PROS: A magnificent part, that many generations have enjoyed!
