I have been booking with Barbara and Smart Set Travel for more than 20 years. I have referred dozens of friends and co-workers. They have all had the same great experiences that I have come to expect. Barbara and her staff treat everyone like family and go to any length to accomodate their clients.
I stopped by the office one evening to pick up some brochures for my daughter's class. The staff was preparing posters and lists for a wedding party that was leaving for jamaica that night. I commented on how long their work day was going to be. They told me that they were going on their own time after the office closed. I was impressed with this dedication but not surprised.
I was really shocked at the 3 negative reviews. I have a feeling that they were all done by the same person (notice same post date). The context was highly inappropriate and immature. Please don't let the comments of one angry individual prevent you from giving them a try.

I too had a horrible experience with Smart Set Travel. They are only out to rip you off. Every time I called to get my money back from a overcharge on my CC I was given the run around. They are the worst place ever, I hope no one has to ever go through such a bad experience with this company like I did. It is a scam they are just out to over charge your CC and hope you dont notice. I was also charged on my CC for some one else payment due. When I asked Barbara the Owner of SST she replied w/ the payment was due right away on another persons account and your CC was the only one I could find so I charged your CC for this random person then credited back to your account, this was two months ago and NO SHE DID NOT CREDIT MY CARD BACK!!! DO NOT DO ANY TYPE OF BUSSINESS W/ SMART SET TRAVEL and please pass the word on and dont let these Scam artist rip more people offf!!!

Worst travel agency i have ever delt with! The service is horrible and rude! There is something fishy about that place!! I went through them because my aunt was getting married on a cruise and we were supposed to book through them. They charged my CC the full amount for the cruise and then a few weeks later charged an extra $500 in August! I called them to let them know what happen and they kept giving me the run around saying that they are waiting for the cruise to reimburst them, well 2 MONTHS WENT BY and still no refuned!! They kept telling me the check was in the mail and of course no check, until finally i had to go in person to demand my money back. The owner paniced and kept giving excuses and finally gave me my money back!! I think they are running a scam by overcharging your cc hoping you will not notice. I think that is how they make their money. It did not happen to just me but to 5 other people!! Don't trust them and go through them!!!

I called practically every day within those two months to get a hold of Barbara, the sales agent, who was never there, when I would get her she'd say she'd call me the next day but NEVER DID, and then after that she told me her father was sick, then on another day had a heart attack, and then finally suicide. She yelled at me that day saying she couldn't deal with me and hung up. Had she dealt with this two months ago she wouldn't have this problem! I showed up in person after that with my friends who were also overcharged - from the very beginning she started acting very faint and physically hesitated to write us a check. Not to mention she looked almost 70!!! Really are you F&$*#@ kidding me you're father isn't alive! I had been nice all along, even sympathetic, but now I was just mad. I asked for my friend's money too and she said it wasn't ready, handed our checks, and yelled at us to GET OUT!!! How rude! She didn't apologize; she didn't even pay interest for holding our money. When I spoke to my friends she apparently gave them the excuse that because others had not paid she had charged their credit card to hold the room of the others. THAT'S ILLEGAL. I swear if you haven't received your money the only way you can is through legal threats.

Please note: I am not cold hearted; I'm just adding the part of the father in case she uses that excuse every month so that she won't have to deal with their unethical business practices

Cons: Was charged twice without my concent & then refunded 2 months later after calling almost every day. Where are their business ethics?
