I had my wedding on the Sapphire Princess in August of 2010. I have no complaints on any of the process from the contract all the way to the departure of the yacht. Everything that was promised or I asked for was honored by this company. The Yacht was very clean.Yes the decoration where dated they had to offer but I had already planned on using my own decoration anyway. My decoration where delivered to the yacht and they took care of the rest and it was simply beautiful. The food was really good. My wedding cake and groom cake where excellent. My wedding coordinator lined out everything and did her job to the best of her ability. We where very pleased with her and she was very professional. Our DJ played all request and followed the directions that where given to him prior to the wedding. Everything went as scheduled with no problems and we all had a wonderful time. My photos and video came out perfect. I still get compliments on how lovely the pics of the wedding was and how professional our wedding video is. I see a lot of bad reviews of this company so I felt the need to share my experience with this company. We where treated very well by this company and we will be planning to have our anniversary party aboard the Sapphire Princess. I cant speak for anyone else on there experiences but I know the experience I had with this company was a great one and I will continue to do business with them.

My company had arranged for a company anniversary party where we were going to be flying people in from around the state. The original yacht we had booked through another company fell through - twice - and Majestic Ventures came to the rescue with only two weeks to go before the event.

The staff was an absolute pleasure to deal with, and all of the arrangements were made to our specifications. We were met at the hotel by a crew member and taken down to the yacht, which was beautiful, spacious enough for 90 of us, and well stocked with all of our requirements. From Captain Christina down to Dave the Bartender and Lisa the DJ, the staff was all professional, very friendly, and accommodating.

The music was great (we danced on the deck and inside for four hours!), the food was wonderful, and everyone had a spectacular time!! We had plenty of room for everyone to sit and eat, the door prize giveaways went great with the coordination of the sound system, and most all of us were out on the deck dancing it up after dinner was over.

Captain John and Majestic Ventures made sure our event went off without a hitch. We will definitely call them again when we plan another yacht party!!

Viewed it at night and signed up. Arrived to very disappointing unprepared boat that really needed cleaning.

Pros: it floats

Cons: filthy

.

You get what you pay for. The night was extremely stressful for my wife and me. My wife was in tears at her own wedding! This was because she was so upset with the staff

The wedding coordinator did not know what she was doing. At times, she called my wife by the wrong name. We got no direction from her the entire night. She had no set timeline of events for the evening. I had to tell her to get things rolling. The assistant coordinator really stepped up to help us through the night. She did what she can to fix the head coordinator's screw ups

The grooms men were told to wait at the hotel near by and we would be directed to the boat. No one showed up! If I wouldn't have decided to direct the groom's men to the boat, I would have been late to my own wedding

The food order was wrong. One of the sides in the meal was missing. The food was mediocure.

The DJ Majestic Ventures gave us was an idiot. If I remember correctly, I'm paying him. Yet, he refused to play a song that the entire boat was requesting because he said "He doesnt believe in the song". He's lucky we were in the middle of the water or I would have fired him there and requested another DJ

We made our own centerpieces because the ones they offered were cheap looking.

The photographers was clueless. If they are they are the hired professionals, why were they asking what poses needed to be done. They should be telling us. Furthermore, we are limited on time on the boat and they took forever to finish the pictures.

The guests were not told which side to sit on. They were also not told to rise when the bride was walking down the aisle.

I DON'T recommend using this company for your wedding.

Pros: Open bar

My husband & I live out of state, so we did all our planning by phone & email. Tammy the coordinator did a great job. We had a guest with onion allergies; when Tammy discovered an appetizer had them, she called immediately to find an alternative. She mentioned our consultation worksheet was the most thorough/detailed she'd received-this might explain earlier poor reviews. We still had slip ups, nothing serious. Ex:the guest book table didn't get publicized.

The boat is decorated like...a boat. Overall a bit ornate but not over the top. We found the centerpieces classy & appropriate to the setting: black cast iron, w/ tiny white flowers & green curling ferns.

We hired our own photographer & took pictures before the ceremony so we could enjoy the boat w/out running around & posing. FYI: mirrored ceilings & big windows make it difficult for a photographer to get a great shot of the ceremony, no matter how talented.

The food was extremely good for buffet fare (I admit, we chose foods hard to screw up?). Open soda, beer & wine bar a plus; they had a cash bar for harder drinks. The cake tasted great & looked just like the picture I sent.

Friendly & professional, the DJ Mark Goe played EXACTLY the sort of reception we wanted. A little mix up with the ceremony music, but as we didn't have a rehearsal ahead of time, that couldn't be helped, & he fixed it right away.

I was blown away by how awesome our evening was. Multiple guests said it was the most fun and unique wedding they'd been to...

Pros:
Speedy, professional communication
Takes a lot of the planning work out of your hands
Vendors were easy to work with
Budget pricing: our wedding looked like it cost a LOT more than it did!

Cons:
Couples still need to be detailed about wants. Unless you want a Vegas quickie, a no-fuss wedding package doesn't exist!
Photographer package not ideal
Baker can't do elaborate designs
Boat will be hot in summer, even w/ AC
Dated website doesn't give a good initial impression

The decor and furniture was very dated, and cheap, but we were told that there were plenty of different colors they could accomodate, by changing the centerpieces, etc. Among other things, we appreciated that there was a "no fuss" approach, as they had packages from the lower price to higher price. We put our first payment down, and booked our date. Once it got closer to the wedding, we started meeting with each of the vendors provided by our package. Very disappointed to learn that the wedding cake lady could not do the design we had wanted, as she was very limited in her abilities. We let it go, and settled for a lesser version of the cake we had picked out. No big deal, just a cake. We met with the photog, and made quite clear what we wanted. Not as many posed shots, as candids, with our guests, people having fun, etc. We were confident as she assured us that she wrote down our preferences and it would go off without a hitch on the wedding date. The DJ was a little unattentive at our meeting, and I had to correct a few things after the meeting with him, but he did a great job the day of. To be completely honest, I would have only changed a few things about our wedding. 1) They were not, in fact, able to accomodate ANY changes, like we were told, in their ugly, dated centerpieces. They were black !!! For a wedding !!! Several guests commented on how "interesting" the choice of centerpieces was !! UGH! The cake, yes we wlould have liked something a little different but it was still pretty and delicious. However, it was in the pkg that she would also make a replicate of the cake top for our 1yr anniversary. Our anniv came and went, phone call to her, and no response, no word from her.. So we didn't get that.. The food actually WAS NOT bad, for being on a boat :) The other MAJOR MAJOR thing, was the photog complete lack of accomodation for ANYTHING WE TOLD HER!! I was so upset, when she FINALLY got around to sending me the photos, that almost all of the 250pics were of the ceremony, posed, and of horrible quality. I was literally in tears when I got my wedding album. It was as if the photog had left after our ceremony, as there were NO photos of us with our guests, NONE of the reception. Not only that, but she satisfied the quantity of pics promised, only by sending us practically duplicates of every shot, sometimes triple. The same pose 3 times from a slightly different angle. Included were the pics that had glares, eyes closed, red eye, flash on the mirrored walls or ceilings, etc. I contacted her and MV and left messages. MV NEVER returned my calls, and the photographer emailed me back to say that she would compensate us for her mistakes by giving us ONE free 8x10. My only response, are you SERIOUS?? Do you actually think that you can compensate me for missing opportunities for pictures of moments that WE WILL NEVER GET BACK !!! They only happened once, and she missed documenting them for us. I, of course, refused her offer for "compensation." That was the MOST important part of the wedding, was great pics so that we could remember it, and who was there, forever. And we lost that, because of her. She is the main reason that I would absolutely NOT EVER recommend this Venue. Their customer service, while sometimes successful, had many loopholes, and many things that were unforgiveable, fell into the cracks on that special day. All I can say is thank God, we had those tacky disposable cameras out, so our guests documented a lot of people at the wedding. They may be of horrible quality (however not much worse than the "professional pics" were), but at least we have a few bad pics of our reception, rather than none at all.

I have considered doing a yacht wedding in the houston area and came across majestic ventures. they have been in business for twenty years and i can only find three reviews which are all negative. how is it that 35 people choose to review a rug on the wal-mart website but only three people have reviewed this business for their very important functions. i feel that this company offers the most for a reasonable price, but i just can't bring myself to have them plan a wedding when i can't find any reviews.

I contracted Majestic Ventures for my 40th Birthday celebration. The owner's claim was that he offered the best value for your money in League City. After searching around, I did find that I could save more with this company.

The decor on the yacht needs updating, and clients are not allowed to remove the plastic flowers and grapevines hanging on the boats. If you??re inspecting the boats during the day, you??ll definitely conclude that the company needs a new interior decorator on staff. I was told that at night, the interior creates a romantic and cozy atmosphere. I did find this to be the case. After sunset, the tacky, glittery center pieces won??t be such a distraction.

I found that information such as final count for guests, contact information for DJ and videographer had to be repeated. I was told that the company wanted to ??take things off my plate,? but I found that it was necessary for me to follow up with staff members. For instance, prior to my event, the DJ I hired was taken to the wrong boat. It was the small blunders that made me question this company??s ability to organize an event and its level of professionalism.

The most disturbing part of my interaction with Majestic Ventures, however, was the night of my event with a Captain Tim. I found this captain??s tone and demeanor both unprofessional and demeaning. He even used profanity with the videographer I hired. When I contacted the owner, Captain John, about this, he seemed to be hesitant to understand the implications of keeping someone like Captain Tim on his team. The staff serving food was kind and attentive. However, it appeared that there did not have sufficient utensils, such as serving spoons, etc. I paid to have my birthday cake cut and found that the cake was served on plastic plates and with plastic forks. Tasteless! The dealers and the bartender were fabulous and fun.

I cannot in good faith recommend Majestic Ventures for your event. If you want a classy and stress-free event, consider another company. It is indeed true that you pay for what you get. Pay a bit more, and get the event you are dreaming of.
