Very Bellevue!

by Cherish C. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,553

Great atmosphere - a little hard to figure out where to park. Very nice people, but certainly a higher end salon. The packages are a nice choice to save some money. Great beds!

Awesome Tanning Salon in Bellevue

by jooz

went here and bought the 1 week pacakge, they didn't try to oversell the lotions, the beds were comfortable, and I was in and out in 10 minutes with a great tan. I went back a couple of other times before a trip and was a golden bronze for my trip - thanks Seattle Sun Tan!

Pros: High Quality Tanning, Affordable on Eastside

Cons: none

Said one thing uses another.

by tochi

Went in for a SUNFX spray tan. Which is the best. I waited a long time for person to come to spray me. Then discovered she was going to spray me with something else that was not what I requested or paid for. I left because what they use, I would have been orange. :(

Professional, Clean, and Reasonable Pricing, Fantastic Customer Service

by seattleqwn

I recently visited the Bellevue Seattle Sun Tan and had a very pleasant experience. I have naturally brown skin but one of my friends were getting married so I wanted a nice glow. I dont frequent salons but i am familiar with tanning. I was greeted as soon as i walked in the front door. I had heard they offered airbrush tanning ( the one where someone sprays you ) so i wanted to check it out assuming that i would be able to get right in. They girl at the counter, who was very polite, showed me everything the salon has to offer and THIS PLACE IS HUGE. the biggest tanning salon i have ever seen. about 24+ rooms if i remember correctly and the most i have seen before this is 12 rms. She had explained to me that it would be in my best interest to do a bed then spray tan, something about how the bed will make it last longer. i asked if they had time to do the spray tan for me but she responded with "no, because there is only one person working so i can not leave the front unattened". i explained the importance of my situation and she said she would call in another eomplyee who lives close by so that she could do my spray tan. I was amazed with the professionalism and great customer service this 18-20 yr old had. I would recommend this salon to anyone ......

Pros: Great Pricing, Customer servive

Cons: Very busy

Good variety of beds - nice place

by jsnell2000

I have only visited the Bellevue location but if the other Seattle Sun Tan salons are this nice they are all worth looking at. The salon in Bellevue I recently started using is really nice, they have a great variety of beds, and the staff has been very pleasant.

They seem like a "high-end" business - top-of-the-line equipment, nice building... so they are not necessarily the least expensive but this is one of those "you get what you pay for" things.

The pricing seems more than reasonable to me.

Anyway, I have had a good experience with this company and plan to continue to tan there.

Pros: Good beds, fair price, nice staff

Cons: None

The Best tanning salon I've ever frequented!!!!!

by ocbella

Very professional, exceptional tanning options!!!! I LOVE Seattle Sun Tan (I visit the downtown Bellevue salon), they are friendly and it is always a delightful experience. I frequent the airbrush tannning (applied by a person) and they make me feel really comfortable and handle it in a very discrete and professional manner. I also use their high pressure beds. I am very satisfied with the service and really enjoy that they will schedule someone in for me if I need it at an off time. Highly recommend, I have frequented other tanning salons, and this one is my favorite!!!!! Five star!!!!

Pros: Delightful staff, plenty of parking, cutting edge tanning technologies, great tanning packages

Cons: not dirt cheap, but well worth the money

Good customer service, confusing package / membership setup

by mikw

I'm getting married in a couple of weeks and I wanted to have a nice tan. I know next to nothing about tanning, I was impressed with the front desk girl who walked me through showing me all the different levels of beds and telling me about each one. She really took the time to sit down with me and discuss what would be the best option for my situation and I appreciated that greatly. I was a little dazed by the confusing pricing and membership fees and packages which I think need some simplification!! Overall I was impressed with the staff but not impressed with the package/membership setup. It will work for my wedding tan but I don't know that I would go on a regular basis.

Great place...

by cmattwalk

I think this is one of the best tanning salons in Seattle...Wish they would open something up downtown, but the location is great and the facilities are amazing, you feel like your at a SPA not a tanning place.

Only thing I have to complain about is last week I took a friend in with me to tan, I went into tan and left him with the girls at the front desk thinking they would give him a good deal or let him try a bed...instead he ended up paying 28 bucks for a single stand up tan, which to me is ridiculous...I'm not sure what they did but I don't think it was good marketing. He didn't want to become a member so maybe that's why it was so expensive...

but overall great place!

Pros: Great facility, nice staff, free water

Cons: not very good marketing...somewhat confusing membership and pricing

Neutral Opinion...

by Whitman2002

I have visited many tanning salons in the greater Seattle area. I do not enjoy sales pressure to buy confusing packages...that is one thing that will turn me away from a salon. Desert Sun has the worst sales pressure and I would never go back. When you work on commission...try not to make it so obvious! That's the key. At least try to act like you're being helpful. Anyway, that's another story. I like Seattle Sun Tan although I agree that the pricing is VERY confusing and the people at the front desk don't do a good job explaining it. I am not sure why you have to pay for a membership fee on top of a regular tanning package. The membership cannot be cancelled earlier than 3 months. So you're not really saving any money on tanning packages since you have to pay for the membership fee on top of your package. I think they make it confusing on purpose so you just sign up and don't read the fine print. I do like the fact that they have nice new beds. The regular beds have a special feature that tans your face...I like that. The high pressure beds are cool...you kind of feel like you're floating in space. Overall I think it's a decent salon...but I am not sure I want to pay for an ongoing membership. I may keep buying packages without the membership. As far as the staff goes...they all seem nice enough. No one has been rude to me and I have never had to wait to get into a bed.

Pros: Nice new beds, no wait, decent prices

Cons: Confusing pricing, membership fee

Leary after reading the business responses to the reviews

by seall

After researching tanning salons that offer spray tans and packages, tSeattle Sun Tan seemed like a good fit until I saw the business' responses to the cristisms on this site.

I know that it is much harder for people to write the positives rather than the negatives, but the comments from the business do not seem well thought out and very reactionary. I have heard many good things about Seattle Sun Tan and feel that these small comments should not drag them down. If I were the business, I would delete their responses to the negative feedback, or edit them to be more professional. Please feel free to delete this comment as well. Focus on the good stuff and build from there.

bad service

by ercamppeterson

pressure on buying packages. Rude employees. Nice beds, not always clean. They do not go by the motto "the customer is always right". The bathrooms are gross. Been to alot of tanning salons, this is by far the worst customer service I have EVER had.

Pros: Nice new beds

Cons: Rude employees

Great tanning beds

by james310

Having used several tanning salons in the area, this is one of the best places to tan. They have this one crazy bed that looks like a spaceship. The prices are confusing, and the membership is just another ploy to keep you coming back.
But why not>easty parking, great hours, and goodlooking girls. Some guys used to work there, which gave a good mix, but now it's all "The Hills" type girls. I've always wondered how well beds get cleaned in those tanning salons

Elegant, Classy and Friendly Staff

by itpro2

This salon is a great place to get an indoor tan. I jump in there a few times, to get a tan update, and the staff is friendly, pleasant and knowledgeable. The place is clean, and there is absolutely no waiting, which is nice, especially during the lunch hour. If you have never been to a tanning salon, this is the best place to get started. Google them to get directions. Good informative web site too.

Great Place

by allenshe

I just went into Seattle Sun Tan in Redmond Town Center the other day, I was very happy with the whole experience. I knew nothing about tanning, and told the woman working. She spent over 20 minutes with me explaining all the diffrent types of beds there were, and did they have alot!

I had no idea about lotions, high pressure beds, i thought it was all too comnfusing! But this woman did a wonderfull job explaining it all.

I would recomend when shopping for a tanning salon to go to Seattle Sun Tan, take a tour, and see what its like. Once you get their service you wont go anywhere else. Best thing about it, NO PRESSURE FOR SALES.

Pros: free bottled water, very helpful staff, beautiful salon

Cons: need more stores.

mixed

by maren129

I first started tanning there last January. The Beds are the top of the line and the front waiting room is decorated impeccably. The girls all seemed very nice and knowledageable. There were a great group of girls working, but like the last review said, when I came back this October, the staff seemed unfriendly and uninterested that I was there. A plus otherwise.

Pros: Brand new equipment, clean, no appoinment needed

Cons: rude staff, confusing prices, everchanging staff

Place is nice but staff unfriendly

by sdaniels79

When i first went into seattle sun i thought wow this is a nice place, but i asked about their packages and they're really confusing... like you have to pay a certain amount each month and then on top of that, pay for each tan... its just weird. The staff was not too friendly, or maybe i just got a mean one. But the place was very nice and clean. I just like to go places where the staff is helpful and friendly, and they were not that.

Pros: tons of rooms, bottled water, huge waiting area

Cons: unfriendly staff, unhelpful staff, confusing packages
