Great store...you might find their weekly ad on this website...www.calaverasenterprise.com, and look under advertise for Grocery ads. They are generally updated on Wednesdays. enjoy

I only wish Cost Less would put on line, its weekly ads.( Like Raleys). Most of us who live out of town would like to get their wkly ads, either in ADVANCE or earlier than Wed. or Thurs.

Mailed ads are slow to reach us. And those printed in the local "newspaper"/shopper only reach about 16% of the population of Amador County. Most are not subscribers.

One last thing: I really like the format of the cash register tape. It is simple to read and dilineates our purchases better than any other store's receipts.

I positively adore Cost Less. Even though I can afford to shop at Raleys or Safeway I try to limit it because their prices are just too out of touch. I have left Safeway spending over $150 and seemingly no food. I find the employees at CostLess very friendly, if sometimes a bit slow at the register. I am regularly offered help outside though never accept. The produce does leave a bit to be desired and don't come here if you want all organic stuff. Oddly enough, their selection of whole grains and gluten free (Bob's Red Mill for instance) flours are much broader than Safeway offers). And there is no deli, only prepackaged sliced meats and cheeses. Pretty weak, go to Raleys for this. I always leave here happy with swanky music I sang along with while shopping. This is no glamour store, but its affordable and friendly and mostly clean.

I tend to shop at Cost Less exclusively in order to stay within my shrinking budget. I have to agree with the posters of the somewhat negative comments with three star ratings, everything said there is 100% truthful. I am saddened by this because I am working class ( my boss lives one block away and shuns this store ), I like the store because it is simple, I am comfortable with it except for the unfriendly clerks and manager, I don't understand this at all, having worked in grocery, etc. it was always my job to be nice and to literally bend over backwords, it should be in the employees natural capability, perhaps they themselves are not treated fairly. I habitually spend $125 minimum per trip weekly at least and never get help out. I have found plenty of discrepancies on my receipts and yes the produce leaves a lot to be desired, I hate having to go to snob hill. One good thing about the place is that they will sometimes try to stock items by paticular request

PROS: The prices are competitive and tend to be lower than most of the other grocery stores in the area. Some of the cashiers and employees are pleasant and friendly. The store gives the customer a 5 cent credit per grocery bag that you bring in. The store provides affordable shopping for low income families and for those who have a budget to go by.
CONS: Not the most pleasant place to shop at. Some of the employees are downright rude and freely make racist comments. A lot of the produce, if there is any left, is rotting. More often than not, the cauliflower has patches of mold, the onions have flies around them, and the fruit tends to be badly bruised and rotting. Avoid going to this store on Sundays. Most of the produce is gone and is not replenished till late Monday morning. Avoid going before 9:30am on any given day since the produce is not restocked till then. Check the expiration date on every item that you purchase, since we have found many items that are still on the shelf way past the expiration date, especially in the dairy and cheese sections. Recently, we purchased several pounds of boneless, skinless chicken thighs. While repacking the meat at home, we came across a huge bone in one of the "boneless" packets. So we lost an entire pound of meat because of the bone and the excess fat on the meat. Check your receipt at the cash register. We have found errors, against our favor, on a consistent basis. Complaints to the managers go unheeded, and we have never heard an apology from any of them. Low income families have every right to good customer service. After all, the dollar is still the same.

This is the best for quality meats at a price where you can eat meat (Seafood, chicken, beef, pork) everyday for just a few dollars a day. Since they started a few years ago this is the only place our family buys meats. The weekly sales are unbeatable. The veggies are fresh. For a mid sized store they are well stocked for everyday needs. Thank you Costless for helping to keep the cost down. It's always full of shoppers which says it all

Cost Less Food Co is a great market with great prices, especially on meat and produce. I highly recommend them. Their quality as well as prices are great. Check out their ads. They have wonderful sales, and in this economy it is very nice to make your $$ go a little farther. I always check their ads before any others. I just purchased all the items I needed for a large family party and was very pleased with my bottom line!

I truly appreciate the values at Cost Less. But it is a real shame they way the exterior sidewalk looks. I feel like I am in Oakland or San Francisco for the garbage and spilled filth on the sidewalk. I think it is a reflection of the type of customer that shops here, but nonetheless, the management should take care of cleaning the outside as well as the inside.

Cost Less Market is a discount grocery store, the only one in our area. Overall the groceries are cheaper. They don't have extreme sales because their prices are already low.

They carry great produce at competitive prices. It's not fancy, but it's a great money saver!
