I want to provide a follow-up to a review I posted a few years ago about Canyon Creek.

In 2007, my wife and I bought Canyon Creek cabinets for five rooms in our home in Oregon. Most of the cabinets are stained beech wood, and we also have a bathroom with painted & glazed maple wood, and a laundry room in a white laminate-type material.

Our cabinets still look great! Granted, we take care of them and treat them like we do all of our furniture and the finish still looks the same as when we bought them.

We are so glad the designer talked us into installing pullout "spice racks" in several areas of the kitchen and we use them to store much more than just spices. We also have the drawers where you can't slam them and those are so cool.

I would highly recommend these American-made cabinets to anyone who asks me. We get compliments on our kitchen all the time.

Let me add to the chorus of dissatisfied customers. One of my cabinets arrived warped. Sent it back. Replacement cabinet arrived badly damaged, after having been utterly inadequately packaged. In the meantime, the "soft-close" doors pretty much require that you slam them with all your might to get them to close at all. Wish I went with the cheap Chinese cabinets.

I knew that Canyon Creek was a local company, so I called and asked if someone could help me with a broken hinge for a cabinet door that broke. This hinge was made by a company which my husband learned was no longer in business, therefore, we could not order a new one, or locate one. The phone representative of Canyon Creek said to bring the hinge and door into the showroom, for further help.

The showroom manager Paul was determined to help solve my broken hinge issue. Unfortunately, my hinge was a different size than the two sizes that Canyon Creek uses, however, he did not turn me away. He spent more time than I expected to resolve my issue; he tried virtually everything. During this process, he was incredibly, polite, knowledgeable, patient and diligent to remedy my situation, considering I was not there to place an order of any size. As a last resort, he called April in the purchasing department for help. Once April knew what I needed, she left to see if she had some vendor samples that may work. April made my day, as she returned with the pieces I needed!

I will remember the experience and high level of service I received every time I do laundry, as it was the hinges on the door covering my laundry soap. Although my home cabinets are still fairly new, and not in need of replacing soon, I will most definitely turn to Canyon Creek when we decide to replace the cabinets in our cabin.

It is always so uplifting to know of another GREAT, LOCAL company to be proud of in Washington State!

Upon reading the other two reviews I thought they were talking about another company. We have made four purchases of Canyon Creek cabinets over the past three years for two homes. Each time the cabinets arrived on time with absolutely no damage. The staff at the Monroe showroom not only were helpful, but their advice shaped our decisions on wood type and stains. Our cabinet installer told me today that he loves installing their product due to the quality and appearance. They look great!

I can say with absolute certainty that you will regret using Canyon Creek. We spent $30,000 on a kitchen and family room desk, and have worked with Canyon Creek for over a year trying to get things right. It has been a nightmare. An initial $24,000 order of cabinets came shipped with each unit in a single-thickness cardboard box with no bumpers. Nearly every unit was crushed on the bottom corners, and 8 doors or drawer fronts were damaged. Due to a designer error, we had to place another order for three cabinets, and that order came damaged. Twice. We just received an order of crown moulding packaged in a long cardboard tube with just tape sealing the end -- no end cap or anything. We have received random parts we haven't ordered, gotten cabinets with the wrong hinges, and gotten parts with the wrong finish or edge detail. This review describes only a fraction of the trouble we have had. The burden on our family has been terrible. The Canyon Creek rep covering our territory says they have laid off 2/3 of their staff. I just hope they stay in business until our job is finished. I going to try to give a rating of zero stars, and only will give one star if required to do so.

Before you buy Canyon Creek Cabinets, please read this: We had heard wonderful things about this cabinet company, but our experience has been simply awful. We ordered a built in entertainment center from Canyon Creek Cabinets, through the Bellevue Design Center last April. We still do not have our entertainment center installed. Just about every piece has had to be returned for defective pieces. We've had several pieces with gashes, scratches, wrong finishes, etc. They even marked the defective pieces with red tape, but still shipped them to us - so much for ISO 9000 quality control - it's non-existent. Then when they sent us replacement pieces, they were defective also. The clincher was when each of the 7 of base cabinets were 1/16 off but the upper cabinets were exactly to the published dimensions. So, we couldn't complete the installation - with the 7 cabinets being out of tolerance, we ended up with a 1/2 inch gap and the upper cabinets wouldn't line up. Their customer service refused to help us, saying that 1/16 tolerance is acceptable. However, there is nothing in their order book that tells you to allow for a 1/16 tolerance. Luckily the Bellevue Design Center, ended up hiring a carpenter to rebuild the 7 base units for us. They also rebuilt an upper cabinets, taking two cabinets to make one good one. So not only do they send you inferior, defective products, they do not stand behind them.

Communication is important Kevin, we sure don't like hearing about experiences such as yours. We recall that particular order and the problems associated with it. Our engineering team had advised the designer that there were fatal flaws with the original design and offered alternative solutions before the order was placed. Sadly, our recommendations were not taken.
