I have been taking my daughter to Dr. Addy for over 6 years. We like her very much, she is a very good docor and my daughter feels comfortable in her presence. However, the level of care has decreased tremendously since they opened their new practice. They have too many patience, the front desk staff is different from when they first opened and those people are just simply unfriendly and unwelcoming. We see a different nurse/ medical aide every time we go there. We used to have the same nurse all the time greet us and weigh my daughter before seeing Addy. The on-call nurses *during the day* are awesome. However, the after hour call line is pretty bad. There was a time before when Dr. Addy or Dr. Unite would call the parent... now it's hard to even get an appointment with either of them.

Dr Unite was the pediatrician for all my children and now he is the pediatrician for my grandson and grand-baby on the way! Dr. Unite is very caring and takes the time to really talk to his patients and not just the parents. It may take him a while to get to your child but remember that he is going to give your child the same individual attention that he gives to all his patients and that is priceless if you ask me! Quick reasons:
Pros - Dr. Unite, sick visits on Sat, great staff, sep sick/well check in, great phone triage nurses, great nurse pratictioner, young and on top of everything staff

Cons - potential long waits for Dr. Unite, hard to get in with Doc for sick visits, may have to pay for after hours calls (although we've called about 8-10 times and never been billed)

We have been with Dr. Unite, since our twins were 6 weeks old. He is a fantastic and caring doctor. I was thrilled when he and Dr. Addy opened their own practice, as I was not impressed with the other doctor and oncall nurse at the previous group.

We moved to Houston and back again to Austin. Although it can now take us between 25 and 45 minutes to get to Treehouse pediatrics, we jumped at the chance to have Dr. Unite again.

Dr. Unite has been wonderful in dealing with our children, both healthy and sick. We've dealt with severe reflux, anaphylactic food allergies, asthma (which he initially diagnosed at a well check), chronic GI issues, flu requiring hospitalization, etc. He has been very on top of things and up with the latest and greatest med info. and willing to try less mainstream things - like probiotics - before they became more common for docs to recommend.

He is on top of diagnosing possible problems. Our daughter was asthmatic and we had no idea. At our twins most recent well check, he identified some potential problems. We are doing further investigation now. He is so thorough that I never worry. And, he takes my questions and concerns seriously.

Dr. Unite has also been willing to allow us to delay some vaccinations, so that our children are only being given vaccinations when they are totally healthy. We just schedule an appt later (free) to catch up on missed vaccinations. I've also taken the approach of no more than 2 vaccination or only one shot (if there are more than two vaccinations in a single shot) and Dr. Unite has been supportive of this - helping us to choose the most appropriate vacinne at that time. For example, chicken pox was going around, so we got the chicken pox shot.

The only drawback we have now is that the practice has gotten quite large. It can be difficult to get in with Dr. Unite for sick visits, unless you call first thing in the morning. However, we have never had a problem getting in with one of the nurse pratitioners or another doctor for a sick visit or ear infection check. Although, I must admit, if we are going in for anything more serious or complicated, I prefer to see Dr. Unite.

Dr. Unite is wonderful with children. He speaks to them, even when the kids were infants and couldn't speak, he would talk to them. He listens to them and encourages them to answer his questions. He also lets them tell him about things that are totally unrelated to the visit, but that make them feel more comfortable.

When seeing Dr. Unite, we can often have a long wait. However, when he is in the room, you feel like your children are his only patients. He is completely focused on your family and never makes you feel rushed. That is worth the wait - since I know that he is giving that same level of service to others, I am willing to wait to get my time with him. I've also learned to come prepared. I have 3 small children - so all three come with me for any visits. I bring books, toys, snacks and we play with the sticker box in the room.

You also know that if you have an emergency situation, he will come to you. We have been there for 2 different well checks when a nurse came in and relayed some health stats - he needed to step out and take care of those children. We've been on the receiving end of this too - we were there for a sick visit with a nurse practitioner and he came to see us one time, when needed. On a Sat, we had an inconsolable infant, and the nurse who saw our son called in the oncall doc to check on him, because he had been crying for so long and they were considering sending us to the hospital. If you need a doc - they will get one.

We have had to call at night/weekend a number of times, and have never been charged for this, as most have required ER visits.

The office also has sick visits available on Sat mornings!

The triage nurses who call you back to answer questions are fantastic. We've called enough that they know our kids and sometimes stop to say hi when we come in.

The separate well and sick areas are great. They do not have toys on the sick side. Both sides have Disney movies playing at all times. Each has its own door, check in desk, bathroom, etc. - it is completely separate. They also have purell availble all over the place. Exam rooms are well decorated and we often spend time playing I Spy or pretending to be a fireman in the fireman room, a superhero in the superhero room, a submarine capt in the sea room, etc.

Dr. Addy has been my children's doctor for 3 years now. We invterviewed so many pedis before ur first child wqas born and Dr. Addy just fit with our family and our parenting. We've never had a bad visit. Both of my children had serious infections that required lots of after-hour care and follow-ups...Dr. Addy would call me every day to get an update and even on a Sunday to check on them! I have always been able to get same day appointments for a sickchild visit.

Treehouse Pediatrics has provided excellent care for my son. Dr. Addy, Dr. Unite and the Nurse Practioners all take the time to answer any questions that I have at every visit. I have recommended Treehouse to several friends of mine and they all love going to Treehouse as well.

I agree with the reviews on Dr. Unite, he is the best of the best. But I have been seeing him and everyone on this staff for 5 years now, and I can say the quality of service has decreased. Because of the massive number of patients they now treat, I've been scheduled with nurse practitioners and other doctors who just don't give the same level of focus and concern. If you can't get in with Dr. Unite, don't bother.

My husband and I really like Dr. Addy. She's given our children great care. I always get great service from the nurses on call as well. The sick and well side division with separate bathrooms for each is great for a germophobe like me.

Dr. Unite is the best pediatrician in town! He goes over and above the call of duty! He has been our doctor for 6 1/2 years now and we would follow him anywhere. He treats us as if we are his only patients and is extremely thorough in his examinations and treatments for our children. He has even called at night or over the weekend to check up on them. He has children of his own so he really relates to our children and gives welcome advice on parenting, etc.! He is very professional as well and makes sure our children are well taken care of!

I picked them based on the reviews here, i felt its my responsibility to write the review because our experience with them is really bad

We picked the doctor thinking they are great and pay good attention to baby, We were so bad, She did not visit the baby in hopital when my baby was born. we tried to take 2 month appointment with doctor, and we could not get appointment with her so is 4 th month appointment, finally i get to see her after 4 1/2 months, she ordered so many blood tests, and she has no clue of baby condition, doctor or hospital staff do not call back in time or not even after 7 days after the tests are done. some of the nurses are good in the hospital at least 50 % are them are very unwelcoming. they behave as if we owe them

My daughter was born in December and we were in the hospital over the holiday. Her doctor came to see her on Christmas day! We have recieved excellent care, and have always been able to recieve same day appointments for sick visits. There are very friendly nurses who can talk to you over the phone for any questions you have. The exam rooms are very cute too!

This is a wonderful caring practice! Everyone knows Ava by name, and make us feel special. The doctors are young, personable, and know their stuff. The "kid-friendly" theme rooms rock and so do the docs! Check them out - you'll be glad you did.

Dr. Unite is the best pediatrician I could have ever asked for! My son had to be hospitalized for three days the day after we brought him home from the hospital. Dr. Unite arranged to have a room at the hospital where he was admitted so that we would not be separated from our first born. He gives his undivided attention to the kids at all of his appointments, which can make him late to some appointments. However, when I get the quality one on one interactions when we get into the office, it is all worth it! The nurses are great, and my toddler son loves the treehouse motif. I definitely recommend Dr. Unite!

PROS: interior design, friendly staff, great bedside manner
CONS: sometimes appointments run a little late

I selected a doctor from this practic, Addy, when I was pregnant. The first surprise was in the hospital when I was informed she left the group I signed up with and started a new group, Treehouse, with one of the other doctors.

We received okay service as long as we did not experience any real emergencies or needs for treatment. We feel that pediatrics is doctoring and guiding parents as much as servicing our children. We received little to no guidance during respiratory distress incidents. After one event we ended up in the emergency and had to wait an HOUR for the doctor on call from Treehouse to respond to the ER doctor!

They will charge you $13 if you call in after hours for help and it does not result in their definition of an emergency.

Talk to many parents, talk to many doctors and whatever you do, DO NOT use this practice!!

PROS:
CONS: Charges for after hours calls, too many patients not enough dr's

Dr. Unite of Treehouse Pediatrics was the doctor on call in the hospital when we had our son. His easy going manner and attentiveness made it easy for us to select him as our pediatrician. The office waiting area is separated by a fish tank into "well" and "sick" patient areas, so that you don't have to worry about getting sick when you take your well children for a check up. I love that he takes lots of time to talk to all my children when I bring one in for a checkup.
