I love Natas Pastries. I go regularly on weekends, and they have a very large selection of breakfast and lunch foods. My favorites are the french toast (made with Portuguese Sweet Bread) and the egg sandwich (with cheddar and veggie patty on Sweet Bread). The coffee is strong and the pastries are enticing. I keep meaning to try something else on the menu, but I can't get enough of my favorites. Service is accommodating, but a little slow at times.
I grew up in a Portuguese-American community and have spent many vacations in Portugal and Madeira. I can assure anyone wondering about authenticity that Natas pastries are as good, or better, than any Portuguese sweets I've ever had. I love everything they sell and the owners and counter staff could not be nicer. Here is a place that truly deserves great success and merits the nice user reviews it's gotten. GO but not if you're trying to lose pounds.
Pros: Incredibly delicious desserts, authentic Portuguese cooking
Cons: It's not next door to me
I love this place. Ive been going since it opened a couple years back. Now they've expanded and serve breakfast and lunch in a really cute seating area. The food is great!
Cons: Parking is a bit of a pain
I like sitting at one of the outdoor tables, sipping coffee and noshing on a nata or whatever unusual treat I've chosen from the bakery display case. It's different than any other bakery around, even if I don't always love the treat I've picked that day. The staff is really nice.
Pros: Unusual items to choose from
Cons: They aren't all winners, but most of them are really good
I had to leave a note in support of my favorite bakery/cafe . I have been coming to this bakery since it opened a few years ago. Being a teacher I have little time on breaks but always made time to come with my colleges and have these amazing sweets and their delightful coffee.
I am a fan of many of their things, one of them, their brownies are to die for. Everything here is made from scratch and you can tell. I had their breakfast and lunch, the food is unbelievable, truly homemade!
Great service, great food, great coffee, best brownies ;-)!
Pros: Thumbs up, way, way up!!!
It's the only place in Los Angeles were you can get "pasteis de bacalhau (cod)" that's a savory Portuguese treat and also the "natas" in Portugal they call that pasteis de Belem.
The owner is Portuguese and very friendly.
Why 4 stars? Well the other pastries there are good but no phenomenal, nothing out of the ordinary.
I've never had Portuguese pastries before, but my first time at Nata's was outstanding! I actually found it on citysearch and decided to check it out myself. I was staying in Glendale at the time, so the drive was a little further, but it was totally worth it! Located in the corner of a small shopping center, Nata's is a quaint little pastry shop that you can smell as soon as you get out of the car! As soon as I entered the shop there was already a friendly face waiting to offer me samples and explain to me all the different cakes and pastries in the glass cases. Their macaroons are amazing and come in different sizes. I also had this chocolate mousse (I forget the name) and it was rolled in nuts and chocolate. AMAZING. Their signature nata is basically egg custard/flan in a flakey pastry shell. It was sweet, but light in taste and had a hint of caramel. Delicious! I definitely took some to go! Everything everyone says about Nata's is true! I will definitely visit again.
Pros: Friendly faces, delicious desserts, variety!
Cons: Theres only one Nata's
Great service, wonderful pastries, a must visit for anyone looking for something delicious and different - no matter where you live in L.A.! Fatima's creations are absolutely incredible!
As a Portugese native....I can honestly say there is nothing, I mean NOTHING, better than the delicious pastries at Natas. The first time I ever walked into this place, I was completely overwhelmed! Everything is so well done, and everything smells delicious too. Also, the place itself is always super, super clean! The owner is really sweet and will take the time to explain all the different pastries. They don't only have Portuguese pastries...but also carry a variety of European style pastries. There is always something new to try!! I have a few favorites that everyone needs to try: Natas, Bolas de Berlin, and their fruit tarts. Just amazing! Thank you Natas Pastries for bringing home a little closer to me =)
Pros: Cozy, unique, great service!
Cons: Wishing I lived closer =)
Not only do all the employees know what they are talking about regarding each pastry, they seem to really enjoy watching everyone melt right before their eyes especially when they see me bitting into a pastry. My eyes roll and then fall outta my head. It's an amazing experience. And I'm a huge desert nut, deserts are my main course and this really takes it to the limit...Keep up the great work Natas and keep the taste buds going crazy...
Pros: Very nice people, everytime i've been in there it's above and beyond
My fiance and I come here almost every weekend for their Malassadas, Natas, Rissois. Bacalhau and Espresso (which are all great!) Actually, almost everything here and about this place are really good! The owner, Fatima is a beautiful lady who is so friendly, sweet and accomodating to her customers. They make very good espresso/latte too! Come and try their Portuguese pastries.... you'll never regret it! OBRIGADA FATIMA!
Pros: food, service, people
I visited the store over the weekend and I was truly impressed with their amazing and great variety.
For savories I had their "rissois" and "pasteis de bacalhau", they were superb. I finished with their most popular pastry, "nata" together with a cappuccino.
What a delightful place!
O my GOD....

What I really like about that specialty store.... they let you try everything.
They have a sample plate every day so every day I try something different.
There service is outstanding.
I highly recommend that bakery to everybody.
5 star rating for me.
Pros: Very cozy Bakery, great service.
Every weekend I drive 30 minutes just to have natas and coffee. Everything else is wonderful there but the natas brought my little Portugal a little closer to me. The owner is super friendly as well as the staff and always ready to explain every delicious Portuguese cake to my non-Portuguese friends. It is a small place but very cozy and you can stay outside chatting and ordering natas all afternoon because they are really a piece of heaven!!
Pros: Service, Food

I am not really a huge pastry fan...BUT, these pastries really grabbed my attention! I haven't found a pastry here yet that I didn't fully enjoy down to the last crumb. :) The owners are great people and always offer an amazing variety. My daughter is always asking for these pastries - even she has an addiction!
You won't be sorry you stopped by and sampled their fare!
"WOW " What an assortment they have.
I go there very often and on Saturdays they have a lot of European people sitting outside and enjoying the fine pastries. They also make wonderful cakes.... My favorite is the the double ganache cake make with fresh strawberries and Belgian chocolate and chocolate strawberries on top mmmmmmmmmm. I feel like ordering it again.LOL
I am very glad that we got this kind of pastry store right in our area.
Keep up the good work. By the way their cappucino is unbelievable.
Pros: Top quality pastries at great prices.
Well Portos used to top the list but I can't stop thinking about those little nata. You have one and must have 5 more. Those along with half the other treats that I have never seen before keep me coming back. When you go get a nice variety...its all amazing and will have something that everyone will want. Co-workers will love you on Monday morning if you show up with a mixed box from Natas...
If you want THE BEST traditional Portuguese pastries in town then Natas is the bakery to visit. You'll get high quality authentic pastry treats with gourmet flair. I've been all over town, to the some of the best bakeries listed on these polls, but nothing has compared to the taste and variety at Natas. They have a signature flaky puff pastry shell with crème brulee filling called the Nata that is excellent. But, my absolute favorite is their brasileria, a truly authentic treat of a tart with custard, whipped crème, almonds, and powdered sugar. All of it is sweet, flakey, buttery goodness.
Be sure to stop in when you want to treat yourself or others!
Pros: Light, friendly atmosphere
Natas Pastries makes the best cakes - You cant find them anywhere else as good as these. Great services too.
Try their signature pastry called "nata", a creme brulee filled puff pastry little tart, you will be asking for more...also favorites are the "queijadas", mini cheese cake filling in puff pastry and their brownies made with imported belgium chocolate are absolutely the best I ever had!!!
Great customer service and a beautiful little store. You can sit outside and enjoy their European style atmosphere while sipping on your cappuccino...LOVE THE PLACE!!!!
Pros: Perfectly balanced sweetness, flakiness, tangy and presentation! Wonderful service!
I was surprised when I walked in this store, from the outside you don't expect that they would have so much variety. looking at the small corner they are located. The selection of baked goods is outstanding and so is their quality. I felt being transported to a little bakery in Europe where everything is so fresh and delicious!
They will cater my wedding coming up...;)

If you want a real taste of Europe, try their signature "Nata" It melts in your mouth. They have several great Portuguese pastries including my favorites "pasteis de coco" (lemon cocnut cupacake) and the "queijadas" (mini cheesecakes).
