Ratings_icons BEST, BEST, BEST DENTIST EVER!

EVELYN M.

My dentist at this office Dr. Ervin Calvo and he is just an awesome dentist. I can not say enough as to how happy we are that we have him as a family dentist. He is very good with my 9 yr old son who always has a cavity every 6 mos and my son NEVER feels the shot and is done in no time. He was also very good with my 2 daughters as well, although they have not had the pleasure yet of having a filling done (Thank God..lol). This past Monday, 2/23/09, I had to go in for a root canal AND a crown. I was there for 2 hours but anticipated that it would take that long to get all that work done. I am always nervous when I have to get any work done on my teeth. I had to get 3 shots and I did not feel not one of them and I had no pain while the work was being done..AT ALL. In my book, if you don't feel any pain when your getting work done on your teeth, then that is one excellent Dr. He is a very kind man and is gentle and is caring, meaning he was always asking if I was ok...and of course I was. As for the dental assistants I believe I have met all of them at some point or another and ALL of them are very friendly and caring as well. The 2 girls at the receptionist desk are awesome as well. They greet you when you walk in and get your chart in the back right away so you can get called in. I don't think I've ever waiting more than 10 minutes in lobby before my name was called which is excellent. And actually my husband had to go get a tooth pulled today (2/25/09)...his mouth was hurting last night. I called their office at 6:42pm and expected to get an answering machine so I could leave a message but the receptionist answered the phone and said that my husband could come in at 9am the next morning which is what time they opened so he was their first patient. My husband felt no pain and was out of their office in less than an hour which was great because he had to go back to work. This dental office is TERRIFIC, GREAT with kids and GREAT with grown ups. I will recommend everyone I know, if they are looking for a good dentist, to go here.

Ratings_icons Terrible experience

The first appointment my husband and I had went well. The dentists seemed nice. Anna was a bit rude. I know my dental benefits and financial responsibility quite well, but she wanted to argue with me about how much I had to pay. One one of several follow up visits, Dr. Trina noticed I had some specialist work done that she had recommended. When I told her I hadn't gone to the specialist she had recommended (no doubt, a friend) she became irritable and a little agressive in treatment. The recommended treatment was not covered by my insurance, therefore I had to go where I could get the best treatment for the cost. Her recommended specialist was new to town and more expensive than the competition. Dr. Trina began to "bad mouth" the specialist I had chosen through out the remainder of my visit. I have never been back nor will I let my husband go back. VERY unprofessional!

Ratings_icons Desert Palms Dental has really bad office assistants

I have never felt so bad in my life. Please don't go to this dentist. The office assistant Anna has a chip on her shoulder and she needs to have some customer service training.

I recently moved here from Nebraska and found Desert Palms through my Aetna plan. All three dentists are very kind, helpful and knowledgable regarding treatment. The office staff and dental assistants are also very kind and professional. I would highly recommend this dental office to anyone.
