I stayed at the Golden Nugget earlier this year and initially I was not thrilled at the idea of staying downtown - I've always stayed on the strip and love the energy. Well I'm a changed person - I loved staying downtown. It has the old Vegas vibe and was a lot of fun. The Golden Nugget is a great hotel to stay at - they were remodeling the pool area while I was there so I didn't spend too much time there but my next trip will be when the weather is warm enough to enjoy the pool. The staff are great - very helpful and the remodeled rooms rival anything you can find on the main strip at a lot lower cost. I highly recommend staying at the Golden Nugget!

We have stayed at the Golden Nugget a few times recently and we have always had a good experience. The North Tower has been renovated and is quite nice for the price. The renovated pool with the shark tank and slide is great for the kids.

Years ago, this was the premiere buffet in downtown Las Vegas. That was years ago and before the Main Street put out their spread. Now, the Golden Nugget Buffet is merely ok.

Golden Nugget is a nice hotel, but very far from the strip. The cab fare is not worth staying off of the strip. Spent more on cab rides than anything else. The pool is sweet. Water slide going through the shark tank is awesome.

I ate at this place once and was not impressed with the food. It was luke warm and didn't taste very good. The price was alright. The decor is nice but I wouldn't eat there again.

The buffet in the Golden Nugget is more upscale than those in the downtown hotels nearby. It is consistent with the decor of the rest of the hotel, marble and brass predominate. The carving station has fine prime rib and the stations are divided by various types of food. Not as spiffy as some of the new strip buffets but a good meal all around for the price.
