Morris Jenkins sucks

This company is out for the money. I recently had a rental property that needed AC repair. Morris Jenkins sent someone out to fix it and charged me $1600. This lasted for about a month and my system quit working again. I called them back up and they said that all of the coolant had leaked out and the only recommendation they had to permanently fix the problem was to have a whole new system put in which they quoted me at $6,000. Well, I didn't have $6,000 but I had them put coolant back in for the time being so my tenant wouldn't be left without AC. I called in another HVAC company to check it out and they fixed the problem for $330. Morris Jenkins sucks and I would not recommend them to anybody unless you want to pay more than you have to.

Super Service and People

THANK YOU MORRIS JENKINS. Morris Jenking has the greatest service than any company with which I have ever done businnes. We had a Morris jenkins complete air and heat system installed last year. We recently experienced a severe water leak that stained our ceiling and one wall. It was attributed to a leaking drain line. I called and talked with Christy who led me to Bo Wainwright who immediately put Larry Springer on the problem. Within one week we had the problem fixed and our ceiling and wall repainted at absolutely no Charge. This is most outstanding. Everyone was ready and willing to fix any problem. I have never had a bad experience with Morris Jenkins. People have said that it costs more to do business with Morris Jenkins. I have found the costs reasonable and believe you get what you pay for. Great job!

This was our 1st experience with Morris Jenkins and we were very pleased! The office woman was very nice and professional, and the technician was also very nice and knowledgeable. He recommended things we could do to improve air quality. This was a wonderful experience and we will definitely use them in the future!

Absolutely Excellent Service

Absolutely excellent service. Tech was very reasonable and provided a climate of trust. I thought the price for my repairs was very reasonable, especially considering I called that very day and the technician worked past 5 PM. The receptionist was also very kind and provided excellent customer service. I highly recommend there services to anyone!

It is very refreshing to have someone like Chuck to take his time with us to advise each step he was taking to figure out the problem. Morris Jenkins will rob you!!!!

Robbed by Morris Jenkins again. We had a replacement motor on a unit and also had a duel capacitor installed in 10/07. The unit just went out again (9/09) called a different company this time. Without saying a word I asked what had happened.
According to the tech: The motor was miswired, most likely on purpose to wear the motor out before its time. Also, they never installed a duel capacitor, it was the original in there form years back .
These folks are robbing people in my neighborhood and yours.

Good Service

This is the best service I've ever received. A friend at work told me to use and I'll be telling my friends to use them to. I talked to 2 people in the office because I had to reschedule my appointment and both of them were so nice and actually seemed to care. The technician was clean and really nice, even to my dog. He spent a lot of time looking at my ac and answered all of my questions. He got it working again and gave me his card in case anything went wrong. I will definitely call them again if I need to.

Morris Jenkins is THE BEST!

After dealing with several other A/C companies in the last few years, I was refreshed by my experience with Morris Jenkins. A friend at work told me to try them out because she was so impressed by their professionalism. My A/C unit died and I knew it needed replacing. I had already received quotes to replace it by two other local companies, and while they were both nice and polite, the representative from Morris Jenkins was in another league. He showed me things about my house the other guys didn't even look at. They even explained to me the difference in what the other contractors were recommending (pros vs. cons), and they educated me on all the different options. The workmanship was great, and they did everything they said they would do, plus some nice extras at no charge. Their price for the work was very reasonable and I'm glad my friend recommended them to me. They deserve the awards they receive!!

I had a great experience with this company. I called on a Sunday afternoon because our A/C was blowing hot air. I had seen the Morris-Jenkins trucks in the neighborhood and thought I would try them out. Boy was I impressed! I got a customer service agent on the phone and she had a extremely professional technician at my house within no time. The technician found that my evaporator coil and developed a freon leak. He also did a comprehensive review of all the other components in the unit to make sure there weren't any other problems. He filled up the unit with freon until a new coil could be put in and he was back the following Tuesday with the "special ordered" coil I needed. My neighbor next door had the same problem (same size unit) happen to him last year and paid much more than I did, and he had a very bad experience with the company he uses. Both my neighbor and I are going to use this company for all our HAVOC service in the future, and I would highly recommend them to anyone! I received much more service than what I feel I paid for. Fantastic! Whoever thinks customer service is dead...needs to call these people!

The technician was very knowledgeable, and fixed our air conditioning in a timely manner. He came out on a Saturday night to fix the problem. He was very pushy about selling us a new system, which we don't really need.

OK, I admit, I think I was duped by Morris-Jenkins ( M-J ). I wanted to just have my two units checked and serviced as I was NOT having any problems. So after receiving in the mail a $29 off coupon for a service call from M-J I decided to give them a try. Never again!! The service tech arrived right on time, well dressed in a company painted van. So far so good. He turned on both units and got to work. He found on one unit a near dead capacitor and a "weak" one on the other unit. Told me that my A/C units could be ruined if I did not replace them. So I gave him the OK. Better to change two capacitor's than ruin your A/C. Next, the tech informed me I needed about one pound of freon. So I gave him the OK for freon. What good is an A/C blowing hot air? He did a few more checks including a coil cleaning and we are done...all in about 45 minutes. Wow, great service but when the tech handed me a $975 bill, my eyes glazed over. That's right, $975 to service two units, replace two capacitors and add one pound of freon. I called several A/C companies, told them my sad story and they estimated my work could have been done for about half of what M-J charged me. So think twice before calling Morris-Jenkins.

Called Morris Jenkins to repair my heat-pump. I figured it had a faulty capacitor, but I didn't feel like messing with it. I asked the dispatcher if they were going to rip me off for a capacitor. She stated they had "standard" pricing and they're $89.00 service included completely checking the system. The technician arrived and sure enough it turned out to be a bad capacitor. The technician quoted a price of $274.00 for the capacitor, plus the service call, total of well over $300.00! I said I would not stand there and let Morris Jenkins rip me off, and I would purchase the part elsewhere. He handed me a bill for $89.00 (and of course didn't check anything else) and left. I bought the capacitor from a local electrical supply for, (now get this) $32.00! I hooked it up, re-installed the 5 screws that secured the cover, and had "warm-heat-in-my-house". M J isn't the only one in the Charlotte area running this little scam. There must be a "crooks union" among Charlotte's service contractors!

I have to admit that the jingle stuck in my head. When my air started going out, they were my first call. They came right out and did the work. I was a little annoyed that it took three different people to visit- who knew? A few months later I was having problems with the air vent and they came right out and fixed it- no charge. Their customer service was great.

I don't understand what happened with the other reviews. My experience with Morris Jenkins was great. I got 2 other estimates on the work I needed, both exceeded their price by $200. The technician that came to my house was one of the most courteous service guys I have ever had the pleasure to have in my house. He explained everything before starting and what he told me was wrong matched what the other 2 companies had stated. I couldn't be more pleased with the work and professional courtesy I received.

SCAM ARTISTS - Rip Off

saw the ads on tv and in my mail - called based on name recognition - BIG MISTAKE. Charged $90 to tell me unit wasn't working (already knew that). Told a bad wire sent electricity thru the system and fried the motherboard, also there were mechanical problems. Warned if didn't replace entire unit would die of carbon monoxide poisoning. Cost $8000. Asked for estimate for repairs - $2500-3000. Called local folks for estimates - told $250-300. B&E came out for $75, fixed the wire and cleaned the corrosion. In 45 minutes problem solved! since this learning experience been warned by local businesses about Morris Jenkins - they make their big money by scaring people into replacing units (how do you think they get all that money to advertise?) - you are much better off finding someone local who has the skills to do low-cost and honest repairs. Interestingly, the more people I talk to have had very similar experiences w/Morris Jenkins (told that there was a catastrophic electrical and mechanical problem and they would die of carbon monoxide poisoning if they didn't replace their unit ASAP) and all these other people I talked to used local guys from the Mint Hill/Matthews area to get the job done right. Don't make a costly error like I almost did. Avoid these scam artists like the plague.
