Let me start by saying that after I read the horrible reviews, I was very hesitant about going to Piedmont Fayette. But I was feeling horrible and decided to go anyway. I got there around 9:30 last night. I was taken back within 45 minutes. I had a sore throte and chest pain when I coughed. They looked @ my throte and did some chest Xrays, and drew some blood. They gave me pain medicine thru an IV, with fluids and also a huge shot b/c I have really bad strep throte. I was VERY pleased with the professionalism, the very short wait time, and how attentive the nurses and staff were to my needs and making sure I was comfortable. I left around 1:15, and there was not ONE person left in the waiting room to be seen. It was empty! When I got there, there was at least 20-30 people there, and alot of kids. I would definitely recommend anyone to go to Piedmont Fayette! The only time people write reviews is when they arent happy about something.... thats why Im here today to tell you to try them out for yourself before you base your opinion on what others have said. 5 Stars for Piedmont Fayette

I went to Piedmont Fayette Hospital E.R. department twice last week with a flare of my myasthenia gravis, chest pain and left calf pain with swelling. I was there 6 hours. The E. R. physician never examined me but did look at my blood work and EKG. They were pretty good and I was sent home.
Two days later, I fell at home (due to weakness) and hurt my ankle, shoulder and ribs. I sat up all night and waited to call my neurologist during office hours. I was told to go to the E.R. I did. The E.R. staff was rude and appeared uncaring. When I finally got into an exam room the doctor came in and ordered X-Rays. No broken bones but while on the monitors my saturation kept dropping. The nurse came in and turned off the monitor because she was tired of hearing it at the desk. I couldn't breathe due to the myasthenia gravis and my rib hurting. After 5 hours, the E.R. physician sent me home. He told my neurologist that my saturation was great. Well, he never checked the monitor because the alarms were off and he was not informed accurate information. I saw the E.R. physician twice (No exam done, no blood drawn, no monitoring done) and I saw the nurse twice throughout the 6 hours. Do not go to PFH E.R. We don't have physicians in Fayette County who admit or come to see you unless the hospitalist calls them in to see you. Staff are not educated about myasthenia gravis and not sure how much they really know about a lot of illnesses. They can fix a cut, or an acute hurt. It is a shame how our health system has become. Unfortunately, PFH is following the ways our health system has become.

It has been five weeks and I am still waiting on my babys birth certificate to be put in! Ridiculous! I was told that when the birth certificate lady is off, no one is there to do her job and that is the reason for the lateness...hello have you been gone for five weeks?

Excellent and competent surgeon and medical staff. Attentive and warm nursing staff. Spent Feb 9-28 2009 at the hospital and received the highest quality of care.

the worst ever! Their slogan is "keeping patients informed", which is rubbish. My father in-law had congestive heart failure and pneumonia. No one would give us a straight answer about anything. When we, the family, tried to talk to one of the specialists seeing him, they all tried to pass the responsibility on to another doctor, and would not answer our questions or concerns, and would hurry out of the room like they were running from a fire!! No one was friendly or considerate of the family or patient. He has been in the ICU at 3 different hospitals throughout the years and this one absolutely ranks the worst! We were never informed about any of the tests that they were scheduling him to do unless we drilled the RN, and then each question was answered differently depending on whom you spoke to. They really need to school their doctors and staff on bedside manner, which none of them that we came in contact with had!! The care they provided was sufficient, but the lack of consideration and compassion was just ridiculous!!! I would not recommend this hospital to anyone and none of my family members will ever be taken there again!!!

awful. They need more customer service oriented clerical workers who sign in patients. They need people to answer the phone who are trained in telephone etiquette. They need to smile once in a while. Yes, it is a hospital with sick peole but the employees don't need to look depresses or dead.

bad at customer service. The ER registrars were rude and the switchboard operator hung up on me. I think the hospital staff needs some customer service training and an attitude adjustment.

It was a time of my life where I thought everything was going to change. I had passed out one night while eating dinner at a restaurant. The ambulance came and stabilized me, but advised that I seek medical attention for possible brain inconsistencies. I arrived at Piedmont Fayette Hospital to have all kinds of test done and a Cat Scan as well. I was scared out of my life, not to mention unemployed at the time and no health insurance. I knew for sure that I was headed into deep debt after all of this.

PFH assisted in relieving my financial debts to them by allowing me to be waived of all medical responsibilities. I left there knowing that I was going to be better health-wise and financially. Thanks you all!

I have been in the hospital 5 times in my entire life. two babies, one gall bladder removed, two times with bleeding ulcers. The first three were at Southern Regional, known then as Clayton General, the WORST,never ever again will I go to that hospital, forgotten meals, heat lamps left on vaginal stitches after childbirth, indifferent, rude staff.
Being taken care of at Piedmont Fayette is like being at a luxury hotel. No Kidding, the rooms are beautifully decorated, the staff acts more like your friend, rather than someone grudgingly doing you a favor. I will never be treated at any hospital except Piedmont Fayette.

visit was for ER. Registration process extremely slow. Watched several administrative employees standing around, talking to each other, eating and making personal phone calls (could tell from listening to their phone conversations)
while people were waiting to get registered. once registration process was finished (took almost an hour) things moved a little faster. tirage nurse was great. I know it is an extremely busy ER and I expect to wait but they really need to do something about getting people registered so they can be seen. medical services were ok
