My pets love it here and they are never anxious to leave. They never have that typical, annoying music playing here. If they do play music it is soothing and appropriate for the setting. There was available parking at their office. I was glad that I didn't have to drive around looking for parking. Unlike other veterinarians I've been too, I have never seen them appear overwhelmed by too many pets. They are extremely organized and make sure the vet has plenty of time to see each patient for as long as necessary. I do plan on recommending this animal hospital to my friends and family. I was really pleased with their work and how they treated my pets.

"At Mayfair Pet Hospital the staff is very kind and generous. I came to them
with my dog Poochie (a Shih TZU) who was very dehydrated and non-responsive. After spending half the night at a 24 hour emergency vet (who overcharged me $500.00 for 4 hours of care) Mayfair and their staff were kind enough to put my doggie on fluids until the Doctor Young came in at 8:30am...I am so appreciative of the staff at Mayfair and would recommend everyone to give them a try. Mayfair kept Poochie kept Poochie for 2 days and the bill was about half of what I paid for at the emergency clinic. Thanks Guys...You Rock!!!"

Thanks to all the doctors and their hard work and dedication as well as all the assistants that help out .. especially Lizzie. Your very much appreciated, and if I could make one request or world be to have one of those doggie poles in the parking lot that have the little blue bags to for people to pick up after their dogs.Like the ones that are in the parks.people are just letting their dogs go potty and just leave it there and then people and other pets are exposed to it. Anyway my dogs will be patients at this clinic forever.

You can tell he truly loves animals. The assistant that we usually get is Lizzie she treats my babies with great care after the doctor goes over the meds, and treatment s Lizzie always explains how they should be administered. She always find the time to pet them and give them each one treat after they get their annual vaccines.

My two American bull dogs (versace and Amarni) have Been patients there for five years. All the doctors are great I personally love Dr. Whaley. He is a very caring vet. He talks to my dogs as he examines them Pets them and when they come in with their terrible skin allergies he shows a lot of concern he treats them as if they were his own., He makes sure that when my spouse and I leave with the dogs we understand the instructions with the medications. He always explains why the medications are necessary if meds have to be prescribed.

I took my Dog to Mayfair Animal Hospital because it was recommended by a Neighbour. My Dog had a bad growth in his paw and needed up to date shots etc. I was told that my Dog needed a operation on the growth in the paw and he was given a check up. He has now had the Op. with no problems, everyone at the Vet's have been wonderful and i can phone anytime for advice. They do not charge the earth and i can recommend them absolutely.

If you only need routine checkups and shots, this vet is fine. We brought our dog in today with a 105 fever, heavy panting, and muscle cramps. After they did bloodwork and an ultrasound, they determined he had a gallbladder blockage and sent my husband 40 minutes away to Affiliated Veterinary Specialists, who they said would do the surgery. They told my husband to just bring the dog up there and they would be open and said they were open 24 hours, but didn't realize that those hours are for established patients ONLY. All that time was wasted driving on 1-4 with a CRITICAL animal with a high fever, only to discover that the place was CLOSED. When they realized their mistake (after I called), they made up for it with a six month's supply of Trifexis for our dog. Thankfully, he is okay now.

Took our cat in today and Dr Whaley was amazing! He and the staff were all great Dr. Whaley really took time to talk to us and explain what was going on with our cat and our options. We felt like he really cared. We are very happy with the care our cat got. Thank you Dr. Whaley.

We adopted our dog from the Orlando SPCA. While the SPCA was good the vet was not! Our dog was bleeding after being spayed and the vet seemed not to even care. We went to this new vet and they treated our dog wonderfully! I don't know what office the "ghetto" office is but it's not this one. The workers were friendly and the vet and nurse seemed to care and listened to questions when I had them. They did not make me feel stupid like the other one did. I left that office extremely happy to have found an affordable option. We will def. make this our vet for years to come!

I have had animals all my life and have visited many vets in the area and must say that my visits with Mayfair have been more than exceptional. The office is a bit spartan but, provides a great service for a reasonable price. The staff has always been helpful and courteous and Dr. B is terrific by spending time explaining what is going on and the best way to care for the animal. He even went outside and vaccinated the dogs in the truck so I didn't have to bring all four of them inside. My pets are pit bulls and for another visit, I was allowed to remain in the parking lot with my dogs until a room became vacant, then the staff helped me as much as they could to get the dogs inside without any problems. I've had regular visits and emergency visits with nothing but the best to say for this office. Thanks to Dr. B. and the staff for a job well done! (And also for not charging astronomical prices.)

I just can said two words: TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. my dog died in this clinic and the only answer that i received was: " could be the stress", i sent my unforgettable dog for constipation and dropping blood, they applied treatment with anesthesia then returned to me and the next day in the morning he died.
he never woke up. Make your own conclusion.
very sad

We moved to Orlando a year ago and have had experiences at several vet offices around town. We settled on Mayfair as we heard good things and have been very satisfied so the negative comments here are very odd. We have 3 cats and one has allergies, so the vet suggested a very economical med. which works great. If you are just bringing your pet in for shots, you are given the option to add $35 to your bill for the vet to examine your pet - it's strictly up to you, the pet owner. The office is always very busy, but no one has ever been rude to us - they have all been kind and helpful, both in the exam room and the front desk.

I have read all these comments and all I can say is that i am surprised. I took my 6 month old shitzu and I had an awsome visit. I was allowed in while my dog got its shots and the Vet was very nice. She was a lady. However, Although everyone has their share of negative experience all I can say is that is a very good place to take my dog. I appreciate the staff and maybe now may be a different staff than in the past. I suggest to see for yourself and decide whats good for you and your pet. I loved it and im sorry for those who did not. the cost was great.

I first went with my sister n law to put down her 13 yr old dog. he was so old and sick and couldnt even walk or eat anymore. the staff their was so sympathetic and let us stay with him a few more minutes after he passed. I then went with her to take her pitbull for shots and again, super impressed. I started taking my chihuahua there and recommended it to anyone who asked. My chihuahua got sick this year with an infected uterous and almost died. I thought for sure as soon as I head the word "surgery" I wasnt going to be able to afford it and I was going to have to put her down. I was so happy when they gave me the total that I put my debit card down and they took her in right away. Dr. had someone on staff call me that afternoon (before closing) to let me know how she was doing and for me to pick her up the next day. When I went in the Dr. came out and went through the procedure and aftercare with me, the entire time petting her, he was the sweetest man. When taking dogs to get shots, maybe its just me, but I feel better being able to hold my dogs to comfort them at such a scary time so I hold them. Its like going to see a Dr., I dont mind seeing the Nurse practitioner if all I need is some antibiotics! lol and any business you go to has busy days, sorry but thats just a fact. maybe I've been lucky to catch the slow times but EVERYTIME I have gone has been awesome and affordable!

They took care of my cat and didn't charge me an arm and leg! My cat was very very sick. The first vet I brought him to wanted to charge me almost a $1000.00 dollars to do some test. This vet was so great! The didn't even charge me half of what the other vet wanted. I recommend this vet anytime! I will continue to bring my two cats!

Absolutely horrible! I took a stray cat there that I had been feeding for 6 months to be neutered. Since he had a sinus infection and an issue with his tooth/jaw, I was told by the front office staff that he could not have the surgery (although I wasn't told this on the day that I made the appointment). Being more concerned with his sinuses, we postponed the surgery and asked for an FIV test. Unfortunately the results were positive and I was unprepared. When asked if I could consult with the doctor about the effects of FIV and the possible options, I was quoted an additional $35 consultation fee. (Doesn't the price of the office visit include seeing a doctor?) I made the unfortunate decision to have him put to sleep & asked that I be present. That request was denied by the doctor and after they euthanized him, the assistant returned my dead cat in the pet taxi and shared that they had to chase him all over the hospital. Really? I could have done without hearing that. It was a 90-minute appointment and the doctor NEVER came to talk to me about the process or express his condolences. I felt that I made the right decision to put this poor little cat out of his misery... but he didn't deserve to go out that like. Please find another clinic if you're looking for any compassion for your loving pets. I opted to visit Mayfair since their prices were 1/3 of my regular vet's office..... but you certainly get what you pay for. Luckily, my other six cats will not have this same experience. R.I.P. Slick 5/28/10.

I read reviews about this vet before going and also asked around a good recommended vet. My friends who have pets have gone to Mayfair and are very satisfied, and some reviews are negative. But I went to check it out for myself. My experience there was EXCELLENT! The place is not fancy or big, but that did not matter to my beagle. We hardly had to wait and the Technician Tracy, treated my dog with so much TLC that made him feel so calm. They were very fair in price and she took to time to listen to my concerns and did some recommendations to care for my dog. I will go there again and do recommend it to others.

Ive been using Mayfair for over 4 years and Im shocked to see all these bad reviews! All you people that come in with your untrained pets or should I say Beasts! Are the ones giving bad reviews. I love the services they provide and most of all my dog LOVES going there. That should be reason enough to bring him back again and again. My dog has always been treated above and beyond the call fo duty there. Mabye thats because he is very charming and mabye it is just because the staff there is very knowledgeable about what they need to do. 5 stars!

I used to go here because it was cheap for my dogs shots. But dont go here for any other reason..The vet barely even touches the dog . I came here because my dog had an allergy problem and the medicine didnt work, I brought him back and he tried giving me the same medicine?! I changed vets and found out he has a skin condition and needs surgery because he has cataracts . Why didnt the previous vet know this? You can clearly see the vet doesnt care about the animals. in one visit the doctor told me not to request to see him because the techs couldve prescribed the medicine for his skin condition. What kind of doctor says that??? I guess you get what you pay for but now I know its not worth saving a few bucks when your pet has been suffering all along.

John Young Mayfair Pet Hosp is acceptable for shots and minor conditions. The staff is nice and Dr. Adkins was polite and asked enough questions that I felt satisfied he was concerned about my animal! I have recommended him to friends and they have been pleased as well.

John Young Mayfair Pet Hosp is acceptable for shots and minor conditions. The staff is nice and Dr. Adkins was polite and asked enough questions that I felt satisfied he was concerned about my animal! I have recommended him to friends and they have been pleased as well.

good for shots. I took my cats and dog up there for cheap shots and general checkups, but don't go here with there is something seriously wrong with your animal. I took my cat up who wasn't eating or moving around a lot and the doctor did a blood test said it looked good and gave him some anitbiotics. A second visit two weeks later they tried to get an urine test and blood came out of his nose. gave me a bunch of medicine, had a different doctor who seemed to care a little bit more. Third visit when he wasn't getting any better, told my sister who took him since I was working that he should get another blood test but he looked livelier. He was getting worse and started to walk around the house not paying attention to us. Finally went to the animal hospital on obt, and they tested him and found his colon blocked, and after one blood test found he had feline lukemema. So we made an appointment to put him down on friday and had to go in early cuz he went into a seizure until he was sedated. Think he might have a a brain tumor from the feline lukemema. It was a very stressful and terrible part of my lfe. Had that cat ten years. I just think what is they did the test right and he could have died peacefully not seizing and in pain. The hospital was very frustrating knowing that there was something wrong, and nothing being done about it and seeing my cat in pain, and having to force feed him nutrients and medicine to keep him alive. It was a relief to finally go the the animal hospital and have someone really care and want to find out what was wrong with him. Mayfair needs to refer it's patients somewhere else if they can't handle a problem. I might still go there for shots, but not if there is somethine wrong with my pets health wise.

this vet, is the worst! i took my rottie there last year the service was horrible my rottie was in so much pain she could'nt walk and she wasn't eating the doctor came in for 5 minutes look at her and said she was dehidrated told me to give her lots of liquid and sent me home, i went for a second opinion to boggy creek animal hospital where they did some test and found that she had cancer in her uterus it was so bad that even surgery wouldn't have save her, we had to put her to sleep after she was with me for 12 years, i called mayfair right away to tell them to be more compassionate with other patients and at least do their job! not give a diagnostic just by looking at the animal, the only thing i got from that call was to be hung up in the middle of it. if u can don't take ur loved one there you might lose ur pet trying to save a couple of dollars.

I took my dogs there in August for their shots and had no problems, but then again I didn't need to see a vet for that either.
On Wed my rottie started vomiting and coughing. Yesterday she didn't eat at all, slept all day, still coughed and hardly went to the bathroom. I took her in today and was not happy. The doctor came in, put his stethescope on her chest for maybe 2 seconds, grabbed her belly and told the tech to run blood and urine.
The tech tried 5 times to get a vein when I finally asked him to get someone else to do it. The other guy got it on the first shot. I take the dog outside to get the urine and I see the vet leaving. When I ask them, they say he has to go to another location, but they'll call him with the results. I was livid. What vet leaves in the middle of an appointment. I could understand if the results took days, but it took 10 minutes.
So I wanted the results and didn't want to have to go back so I waited for them. The nurse calls him and he comes back with she's anemic and wants her to get vitamin shots. Well ok she's anemic, but what about the cough that I went there for? No idea, basically if it continues to come back. It's not like I could talk to the vet cause he's gone.
The vet tech says that her immune system is probably down from the anemia and probably has a cold. Well that would be great, but what about the other symptoms.
That is not the worst though. I ask them for a copy of her results and when I get home I research the one result that is off the charts. The norm for the ALKP is 23-212, my dog is at 794, WAY WAY WAY off the charts. In combination with her other tests that are off, and they symptoms she's having, it points to liver failure.
So now I have an appointment with the SPCA tomorrow for a second opinion and to get a doctor that cares. If there is something wrong with her, and they find it, they will have he!! to pay with me when I'm done with them.

EDIT: I took my dog to SPCA and they did further testing, she has cancer. The doctor at Mayfair let her go w/o anything further, that is neglect and I am filing a complaint with the BBB, Florida Dept of Bus & Prof Regulation, American Vet Med Assoc, American Assoc of Vet State Boards, and Florida Vet Med Assoc. Everyone is going to know he is not doing his job.

Some of these reviews surprise me... the vet i s NO DIFFERENT THAN HUMAN PHYSICIAN... i have two dogs and took them both they were extremely busy and missed some details, but they were VERY VERY nice and the doctor knew what he was talking about... i suspect they may give shots/meds your animal doesnt need but it may also be thatthe dr is a great vet and bing bang boom handles you quickly wout drama, i enjoyed all three of my experiences there... in the end this is not some small town vet who makes house calls, this is a quick get what you need place without everyone acting like you have the cutest dog in the world, but overall you get good care at a good price...

I have been going to Mayfair for years with all of my animals. Cats, dogs, rabbits. They are the best and very attentive. The cost if the best part for my budget! I even had my mom switch from Boggy Creek to Mayfair and she loves them as well. I do agree that sometimes their staff seems less knowledgeable about certain things but all in all.. I think they are wonderful!

They have been wonderful since day one- no its not a pretty office but it's affordable-our cat has had all shots-declawed and neutered there. He got sick and had to take him in this am--the vet himself stated that he could do lab work for 105.00 dollars but stated he hated to see people spend their money on something that may not be needed-so he treated our cat and did tell us that he would do blood work the next day if cat did not improve. Staff is busy but polite and the girls always remember our cats name.

I own a 8+ year old Jack Russell Mix that I adopted at a SPCA in St Cloud Florida and have had very little medical issues short of the typical allergies from weather changes or dog food changes. He was routinely given all his vaccinations and was generally in great health. He was on Hart guard and topical solution for fleas and ticks. This is considered responsible pet ownership. He has been given great attention and has always been left with pet owners that love animals. Ok, now here is where the trouble began. I was waiting for about an hour for a room to put my dog with an appt. He became uncomfortable and anxious which if you know about JR's you will know, stop is not in their vocabulary. Finally I through a nice size fit to have a room so not to have to fight him off of other dogs or cats. Dr Adkins seemed to think I was asking for too much and said I would most likely ever be happy with their clinic. I think I was reasonable but pushy. There were words under both of our breathes and off we went. I swore then I would NEVER take Spankee back there. Ever!!! Then Dr Adkins called and apologized for his rudeness and inconsideration. I was good with that so I went back for the routine allergy shots and scripts to give in the mean time. The last issue was with his lymph nodes were swollen and after a week of them not going down I decided I better have him checked out by a veterinarian. I made the appt and was told he most likely had an infection and Dr A put him on some antibiotics. After about 3 days the swelling went down a "little" so I thought things were better and then the swelling became rampant. I was thinking 2nd opinion. Thank God I did due to the new information. I went to St Francis V Hospital in St Cloud and Dr Medura gave me several options to go forward. The most logical to me was a biopsy to get to a final prognosis. Unfortunately a few days later I was told he had lymphoma and that it was fatal and that most likely without chemo and other very expensive meds he would have very little time left. I am limited to a point with finances but even with chemo the articles I read on-line from professionals, it only gives them at most another year of "somewhat" normal living. This all took place 3 weeks after Dr Adkins infection conclusion. I am not saying that the answer would have been different but I think Dr Adkins is in such a hurry that he half looks at the pet before dictating orders to the techs (which are wonderful) (Lizzie is my favorite). His idea of an ear exam is lifting the ear and taking a glance and then saying whatever he thinks sounds good. Please make sure you don't make the same mistake I made and just take his word for anything. If he says one thing and the symptoms don't sound right, please have a second opinion. I felt this was the only way to make sense of such a tragic event. I pray no one has to endure the pain I have with their pets.

I have used this vet for 2 years, and have been very pleased with the inexpensive services offered. I've had 3 cats spayed/neutered and shots 6 times Every time I was always surprised the bill was less than expected. It is not a classy place but it's clean. If you want a lot of hand holding go to the pricier vets and they'll hold your hand a charge you to do it too.

We have been taking our pets here for over 3 years now, at least 20 different visits. We are very satisfied, have never seen dog feces anywhere inside or outside, especially the sidewalk !!! Maybe that person who experienced that came on a really bad day !!! It's a low cost clinic, with first rate care. The staff has never been rude to us, nor the Vet. If you're looking for a pretty office, stay away, this is not their top priority. Their priority is affordable, quality care for your pet, and that's what we've received everytime.

The male cat cages are in a separate location in the kennels near an exhaust fan. The cages are Stainless Steel and are the same size that the Humane Society uses. These cages are large enough for cat's of any size and the cat's have plenty of room to stand. The cages have a stainless steel screen in the bottom of the cage that keeps urine away from the cat's. Sometimes a cat while still under anesthesia will urinate on themselves and it is difficult to bath since they just had surgery. The cat's are always taken good care of, we give them blankets and lots of TLC. Clients are always welcome to inspect the male cat area. Client's are also permitted to bring items from home that will make their animal feel close to them while away from home. Employee B.C.

When our large senior Rottweiler could not walk and we needed to get him into the Vet, they allowed me to borrow their pet stretcher to get him loaded and unloaded from my van. I simply left my credit card with them, took the pet stretcher home, loaded my dog and brought him in to see the Vet. Turned out to be arthritis! Our dog was treated and walked out of the office on his own 4 legs! We have our dog on daily arthritis meds now and he's doing great! Mayfair has reasonable rates and have provided me with 1st rate service everytime I've conducted business with them.

Our dogs have always received the best of care at this Vet's office. The receptionist makes great effort to keep appointments flowing on time and the staff treats all pets as friends of the family. Many products available for purchase at reasonable prices. Clean and efficient.

Mayfair is an excellent place for veterinary care. Our dogs are treated very well whenever they go there. The staff is welcoming and caring and the vet is both knowledgeable and helpful. Our dogs actually enjoy going to the vet because they know they will be rubbed down and petted by whoever they see. Each dog has also had surgical procedures completed at this pet hospital and the treatment was top notch. The aftercare directions provided were very good and the needed medications were provided. All in all a great location for vet service.

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had! The staff is rude and the doctor is even more rude. I brought my doberman puppy in to have her ears cropped and she was sent home sick, with little instruction, no creams or ointments and with her ear taped down! When I called for help I was talked to like I was a child and told that if I wanted to speak to the vet I needed to make an appointment so that it would be convenient for him, NOT my puppy. It is not in the best interest of your pet to visit this veterinarian.
