What a disappointment! This was supposed to be a special occasion for an 80th birthday and it was awful. There was no water on the table, only the first 5 to arrive were given menus, we had to beg to have a drink order taken, bread

Fantastic experience in every way! I am so thankful an establishment has opened in this area where everything is made from SCRATCH on the PREMISES and not defrosted in a microwave prior to serving!\r

Well its definitely NOT a "New York Italian" restaurant. The portions were small to be so over priced. New York Italian restaurant will feed you until your full and then feed you some more. The description of the entrees made the food seem

From the crooning of Frank Sinatra on the speakers to the murals of Italy to the fine chiantis and fabulous Tiramisu - this place is 100% New York Italian.\r

Starters are brought to the table - some tapenade made with eggplant and some

Pros: Osso Bucco. Awesome desserts. Great wine.

Cons: Parking lot is small. Pricey.

I have eaten at Chianti many, many , many times and I think the reviewer that was disappointed should not give a bad review based on one bad experience. Personally, I have NEVER had a bad meal. There have been nights when the service has been weak ,but given the area we live in, and our chain mentality, it is to be expected. It is very hard to hold on to any kind of staff in Florida, particularly wait staff.
Their Lobster Ravioli is amazing. There are to many amazing dishes to mention so I will just say go and try everything. The owners are delightful and if you have a question about a entree that has no price (which I have never seen) just ask and Richie will tell you, he is an awfully good guy.

PROS: Great food, great management, decent prices
CONS: none

Anyone who has bad things to say about this restaurant is obviously not schooled in fine dining, as most people in Brandon are not. The ambiance, lighting, service and food were all superior to any other Brandon restaurant. The food is traditional italian, carefully prepared and offered in huge portions. Being greeted by a maitre'd in a tuxedo, who also happens to be one of the owners, is the first impression upon entering. Upon being seated, guests are offered traditional italian antipasti, consisting of cheese and olives. The wait staff is attentive and friendly, without any of the typical fine dining attitude. And the food, oh the food! Those satisfied with typical chain restaurant fare may not be able to appreciate it, but it the food is simply to die for. Let's hope this place sticks around and helps raise in bar as far as quality in this area. Perhaps Brandonites will no longer have to travel to Tampa for fine dining...

PROS: Excellent food, great ambience, live music on weekends, accomodating staff.
CONS: Room temperature was a bit chilly - only bad thing I can think of!

Some things on the menu was pricey. But all in all its just a little more than most places I have eaten at. I had chicken with artichokes on the top while my boyfriend had steak. Our total bill with wine was $57.

I loved my chicken and my boyfriend said the steak was very good. We went to MJ Barleyhoppers just two nights prior and spent just the same amount. And honestly this food was a million times better.

We also had great service and tons of bread and goodies like olives and cheese. I have been to Italy and the food was on par with Northern Italian cuisine. And my boyfriend used to be a waiter at a very very well known Italian place in South FL, and said the menu was very similar.

We will be back!!

PROS: Very good food, tons of it, and great service.

I went here on New Years Eve. Though it would be pretty good because I love italian food. Boy was I disappointed. Sat there for about 15 minutes and I finally had to ASK for a waiter. When the food came it looked pretty good. BUT, the spaghetti tasted like it was leftovers, you know how the ends get dried out and tough? And my sauce is way way better. They had a long white sheet of "specials" for that night with no prices next to each item. So my husband ordered the fish and of course he didn't ask what the price was. Well when we got the bill I almost puked. $30.00 for a piece of fish. This piece was no bigger than a pack of lunch meat. I couldn't believe it.

So to sum it all up, poor service, prices way too high, and food was not satisfying at all. Save your money, don't go here.

PROS:
CONS: poor service, prices way too high, food did not taste good or fresh
