I visited the clinic in Nov 2010, my cat had an ear infection. I thought that the treatment provided was adequate, vets are very caring. They offered me cost break downs on what they recommended for overall health (quite a few tests baseline checkup, standard blood tests, urine tests) vs. what I wanted which was simple treatment of the infection. I did not feel pressured at all or feel like they were just trying to sell me something.

My only complaint is nothing related to vet services. The technicians are very sloppy in appearance, one had his pants hanging low , very unprofessional looking. I have no reservations on recommending natomas vet hospital and will return for future needs.

Dr. Kirsch is an outstanding and very caring gentle vet. Our dog is very high maintenance and thinks he is the "diva dog". Our dog is kind of skittish and has had a hard time with other vets in the area. We drive from the foothills to Natomas to have Dr. Kirsch / Natomas Veternary Hospital see our dog for his vet needs. Dr. Kirsch / Natomas Veternary Hospital is very reasonably priced.
The office staff is very friendly, helpful, and great to work with. I would recommend Dr. Kirsch and the Natomas Veternary Hospital to anyone who has a pet dog, bird, or cat as a member of their family household.
Dr. Kirsch and the staff at the Natomas Veterary Hospital really care about you and your pet not like some of the other nearby vet clinics/ hospitals in the area.
Thank you

My comments are pretty much in agreement with the ones regarding shoddy customer service and ridiculous charges. I brought in my previously outdoor cat who spent a few months missing and was moderately underweight. They insisted on testing her for a thyroid problem (a very expensive test), even though I was sure her weight was due to her absence. The only reason I didn't fight the test was due to my husband's paranoia over my cat getting his cat sick. Of course the test came back negative. The other time I took Cat #2 to the vet was also expensive and full of unnecessary tests.

However, I'm giving them two stars because the vet techs were actually very helpful when I came in with a lost Pomeranian and asked them to scan her for a chip. They were very prompt, courteous, and helpful, and even gave me a little leash for her.

I had a wonderful experience at Natomas Veterinary Hospital. I was new to owning a pet (puppy) and they really helped me understand everything from vaccines, behavior to spaying and neutering. The staff was so helpful and the Doctors are very compassionate and obviously love what they do. I have seen all 3 doctors and would return to see any of them again.

Don't listen to the bad reviews, maybe it was like that before I started going there, but not anymore.

About cost, yes things add up, quickly if your pet has anything wrong with it. But compared to other hospitals in the area they are VERY reasonable. I would recommend this hospital to anyone if they are looking for quality care, professionalism, and people who really care about animals.

Don't fall for the fancy new clinic or the new Natomas location. This vet practice is all about making money. They do not care about the client. Find another vet.

I am not going to the Natomas Veterinary Hospital, ever, ever again. The management is more concerned about making money than listening to requests of pet owners. I took my kitten in for his last set of booster vaccines. I specifically said at the previous appointment that I was not going to give him a rabies vaccine. They gave him a rabies vaccine without asking my husband and without letting me know (via appointment reminder card) what they were doing. The Vet told me when she asked my husband about the giving my kitten a rabies vaccine, he nodded his head in agreement. Shouldn't she have recieved a verbal agreement? I called to complain and the management was very rude and would not refund the money or apologize for their mistake. Don't waste your money and time at this Vet. Find one that cares about its customers.

I have been going to Natomas Vet for a few years now. They were great at first, but now they are very concerned about their bottom line and always find a way to stick it to you with the bill. They always try to up-sell any visit I've been on where my pet was sick and are always fairly pushy to get you to complete a whole array of fancy, expensive and unnecessary tests. They have twice overcharged us and we had to remind them more than one time to credit the account. They also treat you like you are in the wrong whenever you question them about any charge or issue. Recently when we arrived for a scheduled appointment we were told we didn't have an appointment. They treated US as if we were stupid. They, after many calls, finally admitted they were wrong and had rescheduled our appointment in error. No apology either. Also, I have a severely allergic dog. They are always giving me precautionary advise on things to stay away from...food, shampoos, pollens, etc. Then when I went to pick up my dog the other day, I see the vet tech in the back spray her with perfume before bringing her out. Um, hello, why would you put perfume on a severely allergic dog?? Maybe the vet tech doesn't know how to read. When I complained they didn't apologize but simply took her in the back to wipe her off. Not helpful if you know anything about allergies. When I alerted the vet to this issue she did not apologize or anything. She did tell me the vet tech was trying to be helpful. Well, I hope she helps me pay for the next visit to the vet when my dog breaks out in an allergic reaction. Don't go there. Save your money and find another vet who is not trying to benefit from soft hearted pet owners!!!
