My son starting working with Mike a couple of years ago to overcome some health issues. He has made tremendous progress and has had so much fun doing it! His strength, endurance, flexibility are all much improved. The facility is well equipped and immaculate. The workouts seem to be (with all the trainers) creative, well-rounded, challenging, and fun to do. It's just a great environment for all ages to go to for exercise and fitness training. Paul Piracci, my trainer has worked with me to set goals and put together a program that has worked for me. Paul makes the workouts challenging and enjoyable. I am over 50 years old and I've lost inches in my waist and chest and dropped 20 pounds. I have been able to set up a schedule that works with my calendar so I can be consistent with my workout sessions. I have never before had this level of success with any other gym or studio. I did a lot of research before choosing Empower Personal Training, and I definitely made the right choice! Six months ago I joined their Fit Club which offers a TON of services for an incredible deal (personal training, group training, nutrition classes, yoga/pilates classes, etc). KATY is my trainer, and she is excellent! We have never done the same workout twice. She does a great job teaching the correct form ensuring that I am getting the full benefits of the exercises and avoiding injury. SHAWN leads the group classes, and he is also excellent! He makes classes fun, is a great motivator and knows how to push me to keep going. Connie teaches the pilates classes and is wonderful. Pilates is so much better with an instructor than just a dvd! The nutrition classes have been very informative and helpful as well.

The environment at Empower is always friendly and inviting. All of the trainers greet you by name when you arrive and leave. When I started out, I could barely run for 1 minute intervals without dying. I just finished my first 5K and will be attempting a half-marathon in the fall. So many people have asked me where I have been training, and I am always eager to recommend Empower!

Sometimes I??m convinced she is trying to make me pass out during every workout but I know that is what I like about her. When I am not able to do something she is always able to gauge when I have a little more in me vs. being too fatigued. I appreciate the environment of the Empower because everyone greets me with warm hellos and after a while I noticed the staff had taken the time to get to know my name. What a great place to get your body in shape while also becoming part of a family that wants everyone to get their goals met. I already workout regularly on my own, but I had no idea of how to structure a comprehensive running program that would help me actually become faster and finish stronger. Mike did just that! He structured a running program specific to my fitness level that allowed me to build a good foundation and ultimately to improve as a runner.

Each Sunday I received my planned workouts for the week. Then I would log my progress, my heart rate, my stress level and my general state of being with each workout. This information proved to be invaluable to Mike because he could then make small changes to my workouts to either push me harder or pull me back to prevent overtraining.

If location,location, location is the key to real estate, then the personal training equivalent is staff, staff, staff! The equipment is fine and, no small matter these days, the facility is immaculately clean at all times!

I have a full time, stressful job, not to mention a step mom of two and a part-time job that I work every other weekend. No FUN and NO Time to get myself into shape! Until... Empower! Now I use my lunch hour twice a week to have Michael @ Empower "push me into shape" for 30 minutes. No need for a drill srgt when you have him! He is efficient and works me ever minute of the 30 I am there. After 5 of these 30 min workouts, I can actually see and feel the results. Not only has this experience saved my body but my entire attitude and mood has changed!

He is efficient and works me ever minute of the 30 I am there. After 5 of these 30 min workouts, I can actually see and feel the results. I enjoy the special attention. Unlike other facilities Empower is a training center not a "gym." Most members workout a trainer. I train or rather "rehab" with Michael Whitehurst master trainer and exercise physiologist.

I broke my back and was not having any luck with the physical therapy programs etc. When a 60+ year old friend of mine did a back flip off my cement stairs got up and went to play tennis. ....This is woman who looked wrong and broke a bone. I asked "why I did not have to call 911" and she said "Empower!"

I consulted with Micheal and he had a similar injury and he thought a year would get me back to my ole self. I have been plugging away slowly at first, now I go 3x/week.

It is very hard work I will not lie, but I love it in the end... :)

Over the past year and a half, I've worked with Tess and Mike Babbit, but all of the staff contribute the great atmosphere during workouts. The staff have pushed me to do things that I didn't believe possible all the while helping me maintain a positive attitude. As I built strength, flexibility and aerobic capacity, I started looking at different classes and programs within Empower. I signed up for a "Lose Big, Win Big" challenge, learned about better nutrition and lost 20+ pounds. I then signed up for a running club/seminar with Mike (Babbitt) and lost another 20+ pounds. I signed up for full body massages (Satya is great!) before trailruns and improved my run times.

The net result in one year is 60+ pounds lost, 8" lost around my waist (40 waist before, now in size 32 jeans), 2+" lost around neckline, a 37 minute 8K time and the ability to do 25+ chinups and 100+ pushups.

What I like about Empower is that it focuses on the total package -- nutrition, strength, flexibility, aerobic capacity, weight loss and massage. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

One of the key features of this group for me is the high degree of expertise of all of the trainers. Owners Jessica and Ronda have stringent standards for their employees. In addition to being personable, all the trainers I have met are highly knowledgeable (with advanced degrees in exercise related fields), are talented athletes themselves. Importantly, they are able to appropriately balance client safety with performance. Empower Personal Training is a clean and well maintained environment with a knowledgeable and friendly staff. I have been working out with Jessica for many years and have realized great results. She varies the workouts and keeps the exercises fun and interesting. What started out as a weight loss program became an overall wellness program. We not only concentrate on cardio and weight training but nutrition, yoga, and thai massage as well. The onsite nutritionist has been fantastic about suggesting healthy choices and not making you feel like you are missing out. The yoga classes with Satya have been wonderfull....a great way to vary your exercises! Although I am a beginner she makes me feel like I can do any of the exercises. I recently tried thai massage with Satya and it was the best massage I have ever had. Unlike a traditional massage this works on your joints and incorporates stretching and some yoga techniques...I highly recommend it! As if we weren't doing enough training Jessica recommended Boot Camp with Matthew...that is a lot of fun! Talk about mixing it up....it is fun and allows you to try a bunch of different exercises in a group environment.
