Gartner Hyundai is not where I'll be spending my hard-earned money again
by Carol L.
I went to buy a particular make/model. I was told they didn't have the color I wanted. Only when I pressed them about other colors was I told "there was another color in the back". Without being told, I could tell the car was a demo because it was very dirty inside. Since the car was essentially new and the mileage was low, we were interested, but we SPECIFICALLY told the sales guy that we'd come back, that we would not take such a dirty car home. He assured us that the guys in the back would clean the car to new condition, that we should wait. We wound up taking the car home after it was supposedly cleaned inside, but discovered the next morning, the inside of the car was still filthy. When we called the sales guy, he blamed it on the infighting of the porters in the back. Then, the sales guy told me that I'd be getting a card in the mail asking about my customer service experience. He asked me to rate him high because his comission was based on customer service. I NEVER got the customer service card in the mail, so it was a moot point. Whenever I plan on spending that kind of money again, I won't be spending it at Gartner Hyundai.

Gartner Hyundai is poor
by Cheryl N.
Ripped us off on cost we found out later and the worst service ever! Calls never returned, wait forever and nasty personell. I am trying to now reach the parts department and I have called 9 times. Noone wants to help and you are only treated right if you are going to buy again. They told us we had 100,000 mile warranty, but forgot to add it was only 65,000 for the regular stuff! RIPPED OFF!

poor service
by J D.
Dont let anything bad happen to your car and expect to be able to get the vehicle in for service, unless you wait for at least a week. And then they refer you to the other dealership all the way in North Aurora. Such a far drive. I wish I could go out there all the time though so much better in there service department. If I didn't need my vehicle and I could get a rental it would be no problem leaving the vehicle for service but I have no means of transportation without it. Maybe Gartner needs to work on this.

Not so hot
by Andrea K.
We bought our 2003 Santa Fe from Gartner and the only initial issue was the gas gage. It simply didn't ever run out of gas and we found the gas mileage was a lot worse than the sticker. After taking it back four times they finally got it fixed, and they claimed it was our fault that we did not clearly explain the problem.
Then there was the radio the CD player just quit playing one day during a road trip. Gartner claimed that someone had puts coins into the CD player and blamed my Children. When we went to Best Buy to have the stereo replaced we found that someone had inserted some foreign coins into it. We never had any foreign coins in our possession, so our children could not have had anything to do with this.... Needless to say the burden of proof is on the customer at Gartner.
Fast forward several months we took the car in for the 30,000 mile maintenance 11/11/06. They found our break pad nearly completely worn, which is pretty remarkable at 35,000 miles considering the majority of those miles are highway miles and the car has rarely been in any bumper to bumper traffic. We had them replaced per the recommendation and when we showed up to pick up the car they could not produce the original pads that were worn. Someone was to get them and get back to us but the person we were dealing with had no recollection of our issue and Conveniently doesn't remember any conversation regarding the break pads.
The only reason to go back will be to obtain the maintenance records.

When we moved to Aurora from Ohio, we needed to find dependable service for our Hyundai Sonata. Boy, did we!! The folks at Gartner bend over backward to make you satisfied. They'll even transport you, if needed. But for basic maintenance, you won't have to wait long enough for a lift. Check em out!!
