Completely dishonest people. Please check with other local mechanics before taking your car here.

I took my 2000 dodge caravan in for repair. Alternator(160),belt(40),and new battery(100) was needed. Cost? $640+!!

I call the shop back within the hour to inquire about the status of the car and was told by one associate that the parts just arrive. So I told him that I don't want the work done and will just pick up the car and was told that was fine by the associate.

Five minutes later, I was called back by a different associate and said the work was already done and I had to pay. So I asked them to please put it back the way it was and I will pay for the labor hours. The manager then came on the phone and told me that the labor charge was $198 and it would be double that if they had to take out the parts and undo the work, making me having to pay $400, pretty much forcing me to pay the rip off charges.

Come here for an oil change and nothing more. You can't trust these people.

Safety Inspection voided because of minor cracks in serpentine belt. State Police web site states that minor crack do not void inspection. Lake Ridge Auto Care wanted 75 dollars to replace belt. I did repair myself for cost of the belt.

Last year Lake Ridge Auto Care replaced a bulb with my authorization. They charged me nine dollars to replace a bulb that cost less than a dollar.
I had a replacement in the trunk and I could have replaced the bulb in their parking lot for nothing.

Took my car there in January because of the check engine light on my 2002 Sienna- I was told it was the catalytic converter and would cost more than $3700 to repair two of them because "they usually go out in pairs". So I took it to Haas in Manassas and was charged only $700- the car runs fine.

Took our vehicle for a routine brake job, at which time we were informed that both the brake pads and the rotors needed to be replaced; fine. Unfortunately, the brakes wore out after less that 3 months and the brand new rotors had to be resurfaced. We took it back again to have the work re-done, but they never once addressed WHY brake pads and rotors that were 2 1/2 months old would wear out so quickly. When I asked them, they literally scratched their heads, shrugged their shoulders and said they weren't sure. Not sure about anyone else, but when a mechanic shows such a complete lack of interest in solving the problem you bring you vehicle in for--whether it is due to negligence, incompetence or a desire to gouge me for the same work a few months later--I don't want them working on my car. Add to this the fact that it took 2 days to get the work done and my genuine belief that they simply don't know what they're doing half the time and you can see why I would never recommend these guys.

My granddaughter & her friend could have lost their lives because of a major screw up by this place. Upon checking the rear brakes during inspection, they failed to tighten the lug nuts on BOTH back tires. She almost lost control of her vehicle when going south down 95. All ended okay but could have been disastrous. Will never go back therev and plan to tell all my friends. When called to discuss this with them they gave us the runaround telling us we had the wrong shop!!

I have been taking my car to Lake Ridge Autocare since I moved to Lake Ridge 8 years ago. I have always received excellent customer service from all the employees who work there. They are very good about calling me to tell me other repairs my car may need or something that they found that needs to be done to ensure my car is safe. They are always very honest and do their best to have my car ready as quickly as possible. I have nothing but good things to say about Lake Ridge Autocare! They keep my car running and in great condition. I would never take my care anywhere else. I have recommended Lake Ridge Autocare to many friends that love this place as well and continue to take their cars there. I would never go anywhere else!

I had my 99 Durango in for some noise coming from up front. They told me it was the ball joints and gave me a price to do the repair, but also made a list of other needed repairs. They told me that the repairs would be more than the vehicle is worth.
So I am going shopping :)

My family and I have used this company on and off for the last 4 years, with the off services being oil changes nearer to my work. The guys there have always been very good to us. I like the way they check over my car and tell me what is good and what is bad. My wife and I have never felt pressured to do anything. Even when something didn't go exactly the way I thought it should and I expressed my concern, they gave me the benefit of the doubt.

I will never like car repair bills, but they make it easier to take.

In the past, the busness had been credible. However, my most recent visit proved differently as the business refused to keep his word in returning an old part. Before doing the work, I was advised that the old part would be returned. After the work was done, the stoy changed. There is certainly a credibility issue. Offered me a free tow rather than keeping his word. The price is about the same. Is that credibility?

Took my car in and was quoted $250 by the technician. When I brought the car in the next day, the front desk quoted $330. Claims part cost $294. Called NAPA, PEP BOYS & ADVANCED AUTO part cost ranged from $103-160 non-contractor price. We know automotive contractors receive discounted price for parts so what is their mark-up 200%! When I mentioned that I was quoted a price, the representative told me that technicians do not know pricing and therefore cannot quote prices to customers. When I voiced my complain the rep told me to take my car elsewhere if I did not like it . Needless to say I will never take my car to this place and I will report to the BBB.

I just want to get a coupon. That's it!

I've been to Lake Ridge Auto several times. This shop is very easy to work with. They're always polite and if the person you're talking to doesn't know the answer to a question, he'll find somebody there that does. They also offer a ride service within 5 miles or so of the shop. As of November 2006 they're labor rate is about $80/hour. The prices seem competitive with other shops in the area. If they were consistently cheaper I'd give them 5 stars, but the service they provide is generally worth the money. Go to their website to find coupons.

I have been here once, but I was impressed with their honesty. My car had a check engine light on with some previous associated problems that the dealer did not correctly fix. I took it to Lake Ridge --they assessed it, and whatever the problem was could not be identified by their computer, but only a dealer's computer. They provided me with the code for the malfunction so I could give it to the dealer. Although they could have charged me for the diagnostics, they waived that. They provide a shuttle service to your home as well as coming back to pick you up after your car is ready.

I have had to go here a couple of times and have found the service quite good. The people are nice and knowledgeable, even with my daughter tagging along. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a reasonably priced auto place.

I have taken my car to Lake Ridge Autocare twice in three months for routine maintenance. On both occasions, the staff was very professional. On the first visit, they found something minor wrong and fixed it for just few dollars. On my most recent visit, they honored a great coupon for servicing and didn't find anything else wrong. I think they did a great job and are very honest.

PROS: location, honesty, professionalism
CONS: none
