Sound is average, the acts are average, the wait staff is definitely average and the creepy, balding middle-aged manager dude seems more interested in satisfying his waitresses than the customers.

I was skeptical at first glance of the Magic Bag. It is a reformed small theater that is now an open area with a few tables. It is small and the decor is nothing to write home about, but they have a fantastic 80's band that plays and is SO worth the $10 cover charge. They put on a long, totally entertaining performance and even had 80's graphics on a background screen.

The crowd was made up of 20 and 30 somethings and it was a nice atmosphere to hang out in. Lots of surrounding places to go for food and drinks in Ferdale as well.

PROS: Great live 80's band!

The magic bag in downtown ferndale is one of my favorite small clubs to see live music at. It has a very cozy feeling inside and is just generally very inviting. Multi level platforms allow for everyone to have a great view of the stage. In addition to concerts, they also have weekly brew n Views, where they play movies. you can have a beer or mixed drink and watch a movie for only $2, so it's a really good value. There are plenty of restraunts nearby the magic bag if you're looking tt get a bite to eat before or after the show.
