Ratings_icons I Make a special trip for these cookies!!

Heather M.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and will make a special trip just for these cookies . I am all for the little guys and don't prefer franchises. Yes it is small and the charge you for a picture, but they are competing with the big guys. My family, especialy my kids love these cookies. You've never had a better fresh and warm cookie.

Great place with a lot of history... Billionaire and Philanthropist C.H. Wang's favorite past time is still to right the messages in the cookies! True to old adage that the simpler thing's in life are best.

A very small factory which takes about a minute to observe the entire operation. Fresh cookies available for sale. Staff is eager to sell. We could take a picture as long as we paid $.50. Located in a small alley which is easy to miss. I wasn't particularly impressed, But my kids enjoyed the visit, and they enjoyed munching the tasty almond cookies on the way home.

Ratings_icons This is not quite a factory

What a riot - a factory, not really. There are two sweet women who sit at these small machines that product cookie wafers. The fortune cookies are formed by hand by these women. You will not believe how adept they are at folding these. I honestly believe they can fold faster than a system can; maybe that is why they are stil there. If you are in the back streets of Chinatown definitely stop by and check this place out.

Ratings_icons Get you fresh fortune cookies

Anonymous

Oh my gosh! You could smell the fresh fortune cookies while walking in the street. This is location in the heart of the Chinatown area in San Francisco. We were on a walking tour and were taken here at a tourist site. You can easily watch them make the cookies. They even have samples fresh hot from the machine. I didn't know how they made them until now. Great to take kids to and enjoy them watching the cookie makers work really fast with "hot" fortune cookies.

Ratings_icons Great fortune cookies

When it comes to fortune cookies, they are superb. You can see them making it right in front of you and you can often times get a sample from them hot off the press (when they're flat). They have both the standard tasting and flavored ones (e.g. chocolate) in folded and flat round forms (small and large). They also sell other packaged pastry goods, but I don't care much for their sesame cookies. Their prices are reasonable, but as this is straight in Chinatown, parking will be difficult. The place is in a small alley, so you can easily overlook it.
